  • "Wasn’t exceptionally clean around the edges but overall superb."

Went to use restaurant but was told we couldn’t eat in as not booked, had this been mentioned on the paperwork it would of saved a lot of effort to make it in there as I was on crutches.

Thank you so much for leaving us your thoughts and experiences Angela, we really do appreciate it. I am happy to hear that you loved your stay with us at 4 Hedgerows, but so sad to hear that you had issues with cleaning! We expect our lodges to be cleaned to a very high standard for our guests, so I apologise profusely that this did not happen on this occasion. I have passed your comments to our housekeeping manager, so that she can make sure this doesn't reoccur! Our Guest Experience Manager will be speaking to our Restaurant Manager about your inability to secure a table, as this is something that would not wish for our guests, especially when it was so difficult for you to get to the Old Mill. I really hope that despite the problems you encountered you will return to stay with us again, as we really value our guests. Sally, Guest Services, Charteroak Property Owner

  • "We were really really amazed at how true to the sales blurb it was."

The lodge itself was comfortable and well laid out and included little extras like a coffee machine! Staff and neighbours were all so friendly & helpful. Would also thoroughly recommend the Old Mill restaurant.

I was delighted to read your review Julie and hear how much you loved your stay at 4 Hedgerows. Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us your thoughts! We can't wait to welcome you back to see us again! Sally, Guest Services, Charteroak Property Owner

  • "We stayed at 4 Hedgerows for a week mid August."

Everything was brilliant about the stay, from the communication beforehand with Sally, to the cleanliness and facilities inside the property. The location was brilliant for visiting places like Looe and Polperro (would definitely recommend going if you haven't before, beautiful) and it was even an easy journey across to Newquay and Holywell Bay (albeit about an hour). The site was clean, modern and really quiet, we didn't really hear anyone else the entire stay. The restaurant on site was nice and served a good selection of dishes too. Would definitely recommend and return.

Thank you so much for your absolutely amazing review Katrina, I am so happy to hear your lovely thoughts and experiences of your stay at 4 Hedgerows! It sounds like you did lots of exploring and also enjoyed all that the lodge had to offer as well! I hope we will be welcoming you back to see us again in the very near future. • "We were so impressed with 4 Hedgerows from the minute we arrived!"

The house is fabulous, the place was immaculate, and the quality of the furnishings and equipment were fantastic. Stonerush Lakes is a great place to relax and unwind, and the wrap around decking and the hot tub were an added bonus. I don’t think we have every been on a holiday where the location made us so relaxed. The holiday home was in an ideal position for access to loads of great harbour villages, also very close to The Edn Project, The lost Gardens of Heligan and even the north coast. We went on fabulous day trips to Falmouth, Newquay, Tintagel and many more. I can’t recommend 4 Hedgerows enough! Fantastic

I am absolutely delighted to hear how much you loved your stay at 4 Hedgerows, Allan. It sounds like you explored most of Cornwall during your visit, but also managed to relax and enjoy the peaceful and very beautiful surroundings at Stonerush Lakes! Thank you so much for letting us know and also for your lovely recommendation! We can't wait to welcome you back to visit us again in the future! Sally, Guest Services, Charteroak Property Owner

  • "What a wonderful stay we had at Hedgerows."

From beginning to end, it was such a home from home. We couldn't fault it. From the kitchen facilities to the bedrooms, all were of a high standard. The hot tub was perfect every evening after fun filled days out, with such privacy too. We would recommend Hedgerows 100%. If we had one little snag it would be the wasps on the front decking. We believe they were enjoying the unvarnished table and chairs that sat out the front. Unfortunately we couldn't sit outside the front as there were too many, although we didn't have them so much around the hot tub area. We did email charter oaks regarding the problem. Anyway, it didn't spoil our stay , we had a lovely time and would visit again.

Thank you for the 100% recommendation. We are glad you had such a wonderful stay and enjoyed the hot tub which is always the perfect way to relax at the end of the day. Property Owner

  • "We absolutely loved this place and could not fault it!"

It was spotlessly clean spacious, well equipped and comfortable. The site is so peaceful and our lodge was lovely and felt very private with hedges at either side of us. The hot tub was a fantastic addition which we made good use of at least twice a day. Only 15 minutes from Looe it was a great location for us after a busy day at the beach this place was the perfect place to come back to. We were grateful that the property had a washer/ dryer and iron so we didn't need to take many clothes or bring back lots of washing We were all very sad to leave and would love to return! Thankyou Stone rush and sykes for a fantastic stay!

Thank you for such a great review, we are glad you loved the lodge along with the privacy and peaceful surroundings. The hot tub is always a good way to relax and glad you made good use of it during your stay. We are glad you would return and look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Property Owner

  • "Tranquil setting, a lovely log cabin would go again."

Glad the hot tub was checked every day by a company. It would be good if there was a fan, also a simple welcome pack with instructions, as there were 2 files in the drawer with booklets / warranty. Also I think the cleaner should check drawers as I presume it was the person before us left underwear?

Thank you for leaving your feedback and are glad you would return, we have passed your comments on to our cleaning company. Property Owner

Very secluded, quiet and peaceful. A suggestion would be to add signing on the hot tub to indicate that it’s best to wait 24hrs to give it time to warm up having just been serviced. Also possibly add details on recycling process of household waste.

Just a small thing, Cushions on the sun loungers would have made them more comfortable to sit on, but assumed it was because of Covid they were not available. The kitchen cold tap was faulty. We reported it and maintenance did come and mend it but it only worked for a short time. We reported it again before we left. All in all a wonderful holiday and the weather was amazing!

Thank you for your feedback, we are pleased to inform the cushions for the sun lounger are now available via the new accessible weather proof container located outside the lodge. Property Owner

  • "We had a fantastic stay."

The lodge was amazing and the location was so peaceful. My only advice would be to not follow the postcode using Google maps but to input Stonerush lakes instead as maps takes you to a dead end could try lane on the wrong side of the lakes. My only criticism would be that there was only 1 roll of toilet paper per bathroom - for a 3 night stay for 4 women this wasn't ideal. Particularly with no shop on site. There is also a coffee machine in the kitchen but with no coffee pods supplied and no prior warning to bring your own, it was pretty useless. Otherwise a gorgeous lodge, relaxing stay and peaceful location.

About the location

LANREATH

Pelynt 2 miles; Looe 5 miles; Polperro 6 miles.

Lanreath is a village in southeast Cornwall, five miles west of Looe. Lanreath is rural in character with a local shop and Post Office as well as a parish church. There are a number of ghost stories associated with Lanreath. The best-known features a ghost in black driving a coach pulled by a headless horse. Nearby Pelynt is home to a parish church, a number of local shops and pubs, especially the Jubilee Inn, which was an original farmhouse dating back to the 16th Century. Looe is Cornwall’s second largest fishing port and hence there is always a lively maritime bustle around the quay area of East Looe, which is connected to the quieter West Looe by a seven arched 19th century bridge over the River Looe. The sandy Looe beach adjoins the pier and is very popular with families because of its safe shallow swimming and vast expanse of sand. Polperro is a little further away and is a historic fishing village nestling at the head of a long valley leading down to the sea. With plenty of areas to visit, Lanreath is a quiet, pleasant place offering easy access to the coast, the moors, National Trust properties and Cornwall's famous gardens.
