  • "The cleanliness let this stay down."

Walls dirty bathrooms dirty. Floor covered in dog hair. In need of re decorating . 1 shower had a handle missing to turn on. Water damage around skirting in the other. Repairs to bathroom door poor. Windows to outside on balcony dirty. Both front and rear door handles felt like they were about to fall off. Bathroom cabinet had fixings and screw in it. Wardrobes were full of stuff not required. Front of all cupboards in kitchen were dirty with hand marks and food residue. A beautiful lodge shame about the inside of it. Upon leaving you are asked to strip beds clean the place and leave it as you find it. Thankfully the next guests will come into at least a cleaner place. I feel we paid a lot of money for a beautiful cottage which no doubt it is yet let down by the management of it.

  • "Overall absolutely fantastic stay."

Property was lovely, facilities fantastic. The site was also lovely, very quiet and loved the fact you were just left to it. We had dinner one night at the on site restaurant, a new chef had just arrived and the food was amazing. Only negative for us was the lack of windows, all the “windows” were fall length doors and with two rescue dogs we couldn’t leave them open. The weather was hot and sunny so the place got very hot and having a window would of helped. Also all the window/doors only have blinds (no curtains) so one…at night you can see in (even in bathrooms) and two…the main bedroom wasn’t dark unless dark outside so with summer daylight hours was light from 5 onwards! And on holiday you just want to lye in.

Lovely lodge only downfall was the decking fencing for dog friendly my dogs are quite tiny and could easily get through the gaps of wire so had to have on lead all the time

Thank you for feedback and are glad you enjoyed your stay overall, the wire fencing is a standard gap to allow people to enjoy the surroundings, we hope you would consider a return visit. Property Owner

We loved our week away with the dogs in this lodge. The only feedback we have is the blinds are quite see through, especially at night when lights are on!

  • "Absolutely beautiful stay at Lakeview."

The lodge was clean and comfortable, minus a few random items left behind from previous people (sock under the bed and packaging behind bedside table). The kitchen facilities and small toiletries and cleaning products left for us was super. The lodge was really warm and cosy and the bedding/ towels were fabulous quality. The gate lock was delicate and not quite in full working order, however the hot tub was amazing, well kept and maintained. It would be great to have an outside light near the hot tub for the late night use of it. Maybe some sort of canopy over the hot tub would be good so you can use any time al year round. Tv and docking station were amazing. We will definitely be back. Wonderful place, quiet, peaceful and fab parking for each lodge. We would definitely recommend and will be back ourselves.

  • "Overall the lodge was lovely - well equipped, very spacious and clean (on the inside)."

The exterior and windows could have done with a bit of attention. The beds were comfy and clean. The hot tub was a good size and well screened. The major downside for us was that there weren't any windows - all of the 'windows' are actually doors so if you want to open them (which we did as we had a few really hot days during our stay), but then the kids can quickly get out from the bedrooms or bathroom without you realising. The door/windows also all have wooden venetian blinds - some of which weren't the full width of the window so anyone wanting to peek into the bedroom could have done so. Plus they really don't block out much light. So between that and there being no blind at all on the velux window in the bedroom ceiling, we were awake at around 5.30 the first morning as it was sooooo bright. The venetian blinds look nice but are completely impractical if you don't want the entire family awake at stupid o'clock. We bought eyemasks but the kids wouldn't wear them, so early starts it was! That said it wouldn't be a problem in autumn/winter.

  • "Taps kept falling apart, door handle on bedroom door was broken and kept falling off."

No outside light near patio. Tv was poor and was always displaying WiFi link. Hot tub always full of leaves from over grown trees

Sorry to hear you experienced WIFI issues with the TV and the other maintenance issues raised. we will feed this back to the owner to get resolved. Property Owner

  • "It was our second time staying at the lodges we love the location as it’s so quiet , this time I felt like the standard had slipped a bit , for example there was dog hair everywhere , the tap leaked , there was a whole in one of the dressing gowns , the table outside hadn’t been cleaned and a few other bits I had noticed that wasn’t clean ."

It was a shame there wasn’t any information in the lodge about the facilities, walks etc. As we tired phoning up for a takeaway on a night it was closed as we didn’t know and then we tried to get a takeaway on the last night and you couldn’t as to busy which was a shame .

  • "We had the most enjoyable time at this lodge."

A perfect location that enabled us to travel around to different areas within Cornwall and Devon. The lodge itself was well equipped, very comfortable and had the most beautiful views. We made the most of the hot tub every evening which just added to the relaxation. It was just a shame we hadn't booked a little longer to walk in the beautiful countryside surrounding the park. We would definitely return without a moment's notice. Highly recommend.

  • "This is the second time we have visited this property (last time was two years ago)."

We raised some points of concern on the last visit and was very disappointed to learn that those concerns were not dealt with. This points to a general lack of general maintenance. The bathroom extractor fans (one working intermittently, the other not working) and the en-suit bathroom window was locked with no key so no ventilation at all, were the most serious as this has led to damp patches on the ceiling and mould in various places that is damaging to your health and is not being cleaned off by the cleaners (I have photos of this). We did text message the owner as per instructions on the phone number given, bringing this to their attention, but they did not reply. Other items were not serious ie; fridge door dropped so sticking, shower screen seal not touching top of bath so water leaked on to floor, outside door trim fallen off etc. But, this lack of maintenance is seeing this property deteriorate and detracting from an otherwise good holiday let.

  • "Really great holiday."

Absolutely loved the lodge and the hot tub. So tranquil and in a beautiful setting. Had an amazing meal on site and throuroughly enjoyed it. Areas for improvement - there was no grill pan, washing up cloth or oven glove, and only one tea towel which made cooking interesting. The carpets were frayed in the bathroom doorway the broom and things by the hot tub were broken (we didn’t need them but looked a bit messy). Other than that I couldn’t fault it.

Lovely greeting from staff and was told about the restaurant/takeaway service they had on site unfortunately we ran out of time to use but the menu looked great!. • "All round lovely lodge."

The hot tub is a great bonus as their wouldn't be much to do in the lodge itself. Do not have any complaints, apart from one of the utensils was almost breaking when using it to cook & the saucepan handle was almost falling off. Thanks for such a relaxing stay, I would recommend this lodge to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat in the forest.

Very peaceful and relaxing. Cabin had ample room for the two of us and our two small dogs. Would definitely return for future holiday. Local restaurant had very nice food and we found the takeaway service convenient after a long day out. Pre-planning of grocery shopping required due to location.

  • "The lodge itself is set in beautiful surroundings and the hot tub was lovely but we were disappointed with the interior a little."

The carpet was worn and frayed near the en suite bathroom, the shower wasnt particularly clean, mould in tile grout and in the sealant, the cubicle itself needed a good scrubbing to be honest, the mirror in the en suite was mottled also, we had a problem with an intermittent buzzing noise which when reported was dealt with, the hair dryer nearly went on fire, the dryer part to the washer didn't work and to top it all off I opened the microwave to find a plate of food from the previous owners, it felt like a lot of money to pay for so many things to be wrong.

About the location

LANREATH

Pelynt 2 miles; Looe 5 miles; Polperro 6 miles.

Lanreath is a village in southeast Cornwall, five miles west of Looe. Lanreath is rural in character with a local shop and Post Office as well as a parish church. There are a number of ghost stories associated with Lanreath. The best-known features a ghost in black driving a coach pulled by a headless horse. Nearby Pelynt is home to a parish church, a number of local shops and pubs, especially the Jubilee Inn, which was an original farmhouse dating back to the 16th Century. Looe is Cornwall’s second largest fishing port and hence there is always a lively maritime bustle around the quay area of East Looe, which is connected to the quieter West Looe by a seven arched 19th century bridge over the River Looe. The sandy Looe beach adjoins the pier and is very popular with families because of its safe shallow swimming and vast expanse of sand. Polperro is a little further away and is a historic fishing village nestling at the head of a long valley leading down to the sea. With plenty of areas to visit, Lanreath is a quiet, pleasant place offering easy access to the coast, the moors, National Trust properties and Cornwall's famous gardens.
