  • "The lodge was lovely, clean and well equipped."

We found it very comfortable. Some of the outside furniture was a bit tired but the wooden chairs and table looked as though they just needed to be cleaned and repainted or retreated. All in all a lovely relaxing and peaceful holiday.

  • "We were aware that some soft furnishings would not be available to us, however, we were unable to enjoy any outdoor space as there were no cushions for the chairs and sun beds outside."

The wooden table and chairs outside were covered in algae and actually had weeds growing in the chairs, so they were not able to be used during our stay. There was also no lighting on the verandas. I felt uncomfortable stepping out doors in the evening especially on wooden decking which was naturally unlevel with gaps between the planks. The kitchen was very well equipped, except for some essential items that we were not told would be available to us…tea towels and oven gloves! Unfortunately we ended up having to use a hand towel from the bathroom for both of these purposes, which is less than perfect. Not having oven gloves I would consider to be a bit of a health and safety issue. I would also like to mention for future holiday makers at Streamside 7, that there were no windows for fresh air overnight. The only way to get a bit of air was to leave the doors wide open and unlocked which was a bit of a security issue for me. Other than that a great site, very clean, very peaceful, and I can highly recommend the steak from The Old Mill!

Was a shame the restaurant was closed as it would’ve been nice to have a meal but these things happen. Will definitely visit again if we were to do another break in Cornwall.

The property was 2 bedroom as expected, so really disappointing that we were told it was only 1 bedroom despite checking this specifically!

  • "We arrived at 4."

15, as we were told not to arrive before 4pm due to covid, but on entry the floors were all still wet, so the cleaners had only just left the building, there were still cleaners darting about everywhere. The property was lovely and clean and well equipped. Our only issue was that we couldn't open any windows overnight to cool the property down. All of the doors/windows were floor to ceiling, so that wouldn't be safe. We had a lovely holiday despite some rain showers, Cornwall never fails to impress!

  • "The bags of new laundry for the next occupancy were dropped on the doorstep well before our expected leave time, which blocked the door a bit."

Also, all the cleaning staff (I assume) were all stood chatting around the bin shed/laundry area when we left with no masks and no obvious social distancing going on that we could see.(There were about 20 or so). Given that we have literally just come out of lock down, we thought this a bit poor. Otherwise, excellent property and well run site. Would recommend the take away food from the restaurant.

  • "Just returned from a week at 7 Stresmside."

Lodge itself was clean and comfortable. Good linen, towels. Good bed. Everything you need. As previously mentioned hot tub is old, temp and jets ok for us. The lid is a pain to lift off as you have to lift off yourself and it’s heavy! Patio furniture and deck could of benefit from a very good clean. Green mould on patio set. We didn’t sit out even though sunny as the stream attracts lots of mosquitoes!! Don’t know if it was breeding season but tons of them! Lodge gets sun most of the day. The patio doors on lodge are unusual as no handles on outside so don’t shut any doors behind you! No phone signal but can use WiFi. The road to the site is a little tight and bendy but that’s Cornwall for you. Just don’t take wrong turn like us and end up on awful windy roads!! Restaurant was closed so can’t comment on that. It’s not very far from fowey, looe and Polperro which are all lovely to visit. Overall a good stay but hot tub needs updating and patio furniture needs clean and take mosquito spray!!

  • "Amazing location, and very modern clean cabin."

The only thing that let it down was the hot tub. We are frequent visitors to cabins with hot tubs and although the cabin was one of the best the hot tub was thw worst, heavy lid and a bit dated, jets weren't very powerful etc.

Many thanks for your feedback, bringing the hot tub jets to our attention. We are pleased to confirm they have been replaced. Thank you and we hope to see you again soon. Property Owner

So worth the price, you won’t be hungry after a visit there! Very spacious and clean accommodation, which was really nicely decorated inside and felt like a home away from home. Lots of positives. Only negatives were the mattress, which felt like it needed replacing and lack of outside lighting for sitting outside in a summers summer's evening. Would definitely recommend though.

  • "I don't know where to start."

..this property, and the site on which it's located, are simply stunning. You get a real sense of privacy, whilst benefiting from the security of being on a site. The location is perfect for exploring south east Cornwall, and it's not too far of a drive to the north Cornwall coast either. The hot tub with views of the stream, wood and surrounding countryside is a joy and got used every day, often more than once a day. The lodge is very well equipped and included some thoughtful finishing touches. We didn't eat in the on-site restaurant but did order takeaway one night. The food was very tasty and the portion sizes were good. The drive to the site, once you leave the main road, is a bit hairy, but luckily we only met vehicles coming the other way once or twice, and it certainly wouldn't be enough to put us off. We will definitely be returning, if not to 7 Streamside then to one of the many other beautiful properties at Stonerush Lakes.

Amongst the trees with stream running underneath and a view of a hill full of sheep who come down to drink from the stream. Facilities all very good way above standard and very clean. Plenty of kitchen utensils. Very private especially for hot tub. Comfy sofas. The only comment to improve is we stayed for a week and provisions like dishwasher tablets loo roll tea towel (1) would only last a weekend, no cleaning materials no washing up liquid for example in lodge to keep things clean for a weeks stay. Mattress might need to be renewed soon. However this is a really lovely lovely lodge and would go back in a heartbeat.

About the location

LANREATH

Pelynt 2 miles; Looe 5 miles; Polperro 6 miles.

Lanreath is a village in southeast Cornwall, five miles west of Looe. Lanreath is rural in character with a local shop and Post Office as well as a parish church. There are a number of ghost stories associated with Lanreath. The best-known features a ghost in black driving a coach pulled by a headless horse. Nearby Pelynt is home to a parish church, a number of local shops and pubs, especially the Jubilee Inn, which was an original farmhouse dating back to the 16th Century. Looe is Cornwall’s second largest fishing port and hence there is always a lively maritime bustle around the quay area of East Looe, which is connected to the quieter West Looe by a seven arched 19th century bridge over the River Looe. The sandy Looe beach adjoins the pier and is very popular with families because of its safe shallow swimming and vast expanse of sand. Polperro is a little further away and is a historic fishing village nestling at the head of a long valley leading down to the sea. With plenty of areas to visit, Lanreath is a quiet, pleasant place offering easy access to the coast, the moors, National Trust properties and Cornwall's famous gardens.
