  • "9 Lake View was lovely & clean, although I did find a plug top & dust under the bedside cabinet."

The kitchen had more equipment than we needed but we could have done with a larger frying pan. The Old Mill Restaurant had very limited hours & menu. I had the southern fried chicken burger but the brioche bun was very wet underneath but my husband enjoyed his fish & chips.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback regarding your stay. We must apologise that you found a plug top and dust under the bedside cabinet. Just prior to your stay we made some minor repairs to the decor and installed new bedside lamps and clearly failed to clean up properly after ourselves for which we are truly sorry and will ensure that this does not happen when we undertake further work in the future. We intend to upgrade the kitchenware, so will ensure there is a larger frying pan available. We understand that The Old Mill has a new staff team since the pandemic, so will pass your feedback to them for their notice. Property Owner

Was also spotlessly clean. Will definitely book again.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback, we are pleased to hear that the lodge and its amenities were to your liking and hope they helped to contribute to a memorable stay in Cornwall. We will ensure that the positive comments are passed to the house-keeping team who ensure the lodges are cleaned and prepared for each visit and we look forward to having you stay with us again in the future. • "Problem points: Restaurant onsite was only open 3 nights and was fully booked bar 1 night."

Refuse to allow you in the restaurant if you dont have a face mask still and no notice of this with you, on their website or when you call to book. Found the staff rude about this and felt like they didn't want to be there. When we got the email from you before leaving you ask to leave the propert clean and tidy as it was when you arrive strip the beds etc. This is what the cleaners are for. You dont expect to pay over 2k and then have to clean and strip beds etc. Wouldnt book with you again for this point alone or recommend.

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback, it is always helpful to understand the good and bad experiences of our visitors to enable improvements for future visits. We are really sorry to read your review regarding The Old Mill Restaurant and your comments have been passed on to the restaurant team as we have no control over the service they provide. It is unfortunate that you have interpreted the pre-arrival email negatively; however the email is presently sent to all visitors of lodges across the site in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. Information within the email is to promote your safety and wellbeing during your stay, as well as that of the staff who service the lodges before, during and after your visit. The request to remove bed linen has sadly been necessary to limit the exposure of the the team of house-keeping staff who clean the lodge after your visit to particles that may result in the spread of the virus. We are sorry for the disappointment this has caused. It is however pleasing that there were no negative comments in relation to the lodge and its amenities which we hope allowed you to have an otherwise enjoyable stay. Property Owner

  • "As the space is remote the restaurant could be of better quality with a more varied cuisine (vegetarian options as well)."

    Perhaps offering breakfast?

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback, we are really sorry to read your review regarding The Old Mill Restaurant and can understand the disappointment. Unfortunately we have no control over the service provided by the restaurant, so your comments have been passed on to the team there. We do hope the lodge and its amenities were enjoyable and to your expectation, and that you consider visiting us again in the future. Property Owner

9 lake view is situated set back from the entrance rd, you are very private. We didn't know there were so many other lodges until we went out exploring, very quite. We would highly recommend if you want a quite tranquil peace of paradise in Cornwall. We have already booked for next year!!

  • "This is the most beautiful lodge we have ever stayed in."

The lodge itself is fantastic with all amenities you could ever need. The beds are so comfortable we could have slept for days. The hot tub is an added bonus and we spent a lot of time relaxing after a days beach walking. The site is well placed for Polpero and Looe but is not in a built up area so you get to see nature at its finest. Every morning we had a family of geese come to see us for breakfast. The grounds are wonderful and the on site restaurant is clean and well served, the food choices are excellent. We will definitely be going back. Thank you Stonerush Lakes for a lovely stay.

About the location

LANREATH

Pelynt 2 miles; Looe 5 miles; Polperro 6 miles.

Lanreath is a village in southeast Cornwall, five miles west of Looe. Lanreath is rural in character with a local shop and Post Office as well as a parish church. There are a number of ghost stories associated with Lanreath. The best-known features a ghost in black driving a coach pulled by a headless horse. Nearby Pelynt is home to a parish church, a number of local shops and pubs, especially the Jubilee Inn, which was an original farmhouse dating back to the 16th Century. Looe is Cornwall’s second largest fishing port and hence there is always a lively maritime bustle around the quay area of East Looe, which is connected to the quieter West Looe by a seven arched 19th century bridge over the River Looe. The sandy Looe beach adjoins the pier and is very popular with families because of its safe shallow swimming and vast expanse of sand. Polperro is a little further away and is a historic fishing village nestling at the head of a long valley leading down to the sea. With plenty of areas to visit, Lanreath is a quiet, pleasant place offering easy access to the coast, the moors, National Trust properties and Cornwall's famous gardens.
