A very warm welcome pack, nice touch with vases of flowers. The cottage was most tastefully decorated & had everything we needed. We felt so relaxed and really enjoyed watching the 3 black rabbits who hopped in and out of the garden. A really nice simple but very effective touch- was that of the plug in night light- handy in a strange house at night. We always received a warm welcome from the farm dog each day when we returned 'home'. Most helpful host- Rachael, who very kindly offered to help when our son became ill during our stay. We may need to return in the summer just to check it out once more! That's saying something- as we've never been back to the same place twice!

The property

Surrounded by meadows, hedgerows and pretty countryside lanes, you will find this traditional, stone Cornish cottage, tucked away off the beaten track.

In a nicely private position detached from the owners’ cottage nearby, Farm Cottage is just 6 miles from the charismatic fishing village of Porthleven, a perfect base for couples and families seeking the chance to relax within close proximity to the coast.

Step inside this lovely rustic cottage, into a spacious open plan living space with wood burning stove at one end.

Furnished with plump sofas, cushions and throws, combined with character features including stable door, exposed beams and thick stone walls, create a cosy atmosphere and ensure year-round appeal.

A rustic dining area serves as a central position for the family to gather at mealtimes whilst the cook prepares supper in the modern well equipped kitchen.

Head upstairs to three clutter-free bedrooms offering practical sleeping arrangements with a double, zip link twin that can be a super king-size double on request and a single room.

The three bedrooms share a modern bathroom, typically for an old cottage sited on the ground floor.

There is a useful boot room for surfboards, bikes and walking gear and outside a lovely south facing garden and patio area with ample parking.

A wonderful walking destination with scenic countryside walks from the front door.

The market town of Helston is roughly 5 miles where you will find a good range of shops, supermarkets, restaurants and home to the famous Blue Anchor Inn, one of Britain’s oldest Inns that has been brewing its own range of Spingo Ales for over 600 years.

At the bottom of the town Coronation Park will keep young children entertained and where you can join the National Trust Penrose Walks that lead you alongside Loe Pool, Cornwall’s largest freshwater lake to the fishing village of Porthleven.

Stop for a while and relax in the sunshine at one of the many cafes and restaurants clustered around the pretty harbour side, or bring a picnic and enjoy a day sunbathing on the beach.

There are many other wonderful family beaches in the area, including Poldhu Café, near Mullion, where you can enjoy Pizza on the beach, Praa Sands, where there is surf tuition and hire available, and pretty coves such as Rinsey and Gunwalloe.

With so much on your doorstep Farm Cottage will suit all ages and interests and is ideal for a Cornish break at any time of year.
