  • "Really enjoyable week thank you."

The only drawback was the bed, narrow and not very comfortable. We are of average height and both slim but it made for a particularly trying night's sleep. Apart from that everything was excellent.

  • "A lovely cottage."

Exceeded our expectations on every level. The views from our patio were stunning. It was so peaceful and quiet too. Perfect spot to relax and chill down. The accommodation was a real home from home. Well appointed, and very fresh and clean ! The ‘home made’’ cream tea that was waiting on our arrival, was a lovely surprise, and also very welcome after a very long journey down. I met the owner, Keith, and what a lovely gentleman he is. He popped round to check we were happy with everything and making sure we had everything we needed. The location is a great spot for touring this beautiful part of the country. Cornwall is the most amazing place. We will certainly be back again and will be staying here now each time we visit. A big 10/10 for Trevore Farm !!

  • "This cottage was perfect for 2 people."

Due to the current COVID crisis it was a bit noisy and echoed a lot, we could hear our neighbours opening and closing doors, so they could surely hear us too - but this is purely down to the lack of soft furnishing, such as rugs, cushions etc which would have made a big difference I feel sure. Spotlessly clean, warm (with heatng for autumnal mornings) as well as amazing daylight as the sun came round to the french doors, nearby pub with great food at St Buryan, if you do not want to use the cooker & microwave. Pre Book at the St Buryan Inn Pictures of the interior were very accurate and there was plenty of space and storage. DVD player in the TV, which was handy at times, as atmospherics (sea mist at a guess) made the signal a bit wobbly on occasion. Very Welcome Cream Tea on arrival plus some milk and tea/coffee provision The down side? Washing Machine, but only a rack for drying, which tended to blow away when placed on the patio - though it was late season, so perhaps breezier than normal, or you have to put on the heating and place it in front of the radiator. Therefrore a washer/drier combo woud be welcome for any keen beach goers - which we were - faced with damp cossies and towels every day.

It was a great base for the West of the county with the fantastic Sennen beach a short drive away and central for the picturesque Cornish valleys such as Cot Valley, Kendijack, Nanjizel, Porthgwarra etc for those who want to walk the Cornish coast. It is also an ideal base for birders who will be perfectly placed to search the valleys for rare migrants. Just a little further afield and St Michaels Mount, Hayle and St Ives beckon. For the children the superb beaches will delight and the joys of the Lands End park are close by. We enjoyed a fantastic week and would be delighted to return. We even had outstanding weather laid on for us but apparently the owners can't guarantee this for everyone.

The cottage was exceptionally clean, they had certainly put in extra effort due to the COVID guidelines. It was well equipped but could have done with some coat hooks to hang your wet coat. We had a wonderful holiday, I have very high expectations when I go away and this cottage certainly met them.

About the location

SENNEN

Land’s End 1 mile; St Just 5 miles; Penzance 9 miles.

The most westerly village in mainland Britain, Sennen has a lovely mile-long beach of pure white sand and is a very popular holiday destination. With excellent surfing conditions, the village has its own surf school – overlooked by a super-cool beach bar/restaurant with floor-to-ceiling windows which make the most of the wonderful views. Once a hub of smuggling activity, Sennen still retains many secret passages – one of which is said to lead to the covered well in the Old Success Inn. Largely unchanged over time, this lovely village has a timeless appeal and is home to a gallery, a medieval church, an Iron Age fort and a small selection of shops where you can buy beachware, gifts and souvenirs, and a range of groceries. There is also a weekly Farmers’ Market in the village Community Centre each Tuesday morning. During the summer, the beach bar becomes a hub of activity and entertainment, with live music, weekly barbecues and popular surfing competitions.
