A traditional stone built Cornish cottage, it is very well presented, clean and cosy. The beautiful harbour and coastal path are just a short walk from the front door. If you’re in Cornwall to walk, it’s perfect. The steep hill down to the village could be a challenge for some on the return journey, but we loved it. The garden is really just a stepped terrace but there is a table and chairs and some nice plants in pots. One thing I would like to mention is that the fridge is very compact so please don’t turn up with food for the week for 5 as it just won’t fit in. There’s an additional freezer in the outhouse, but if you like to eat fresh produce and chill drinks then a couple of days supplies is all that will fit in. This shouldn’t put you off as the cottage is lovely and there are also places to eat down by the harbour. Parking was never a problem for us as we have a small car but if you have a very wide car it could be a bit of an issue to park right outside. Please also read the instruction manual so that you know to turn the water and shower on before leaping in expecting hot water

The property

Located right in the heart of the famous Cornish village of Boscastle is this ancient, terraced cottage.

Smart and stylish with tiled floors throughout the ground floor and wooden floors upstairs, this property provides comfortable family accommodation throughout the year.

On the ground floor is a cosy living room with a wood burning stove, perfect for warming toes on a chilly autumn evening, and a sweet little kitchen with handcrafted cupboards and worktops made from a local beech tree.

Enjoy hearty family meals at the stout dining table in the neat dining room with French windows that open up onto the garden.

Upstairs, three comfortable bedrooms, two doubles and a small single, plus a family bathroom complete the accommodation.

Relax in the neat, little paved garden at the back of the house, where you'll find a very practical outhouse with plenty of room for surfboards and other beach paraphernalia and a cloakroom.

The striking natural harbour, where two rivers meet the sea between steep moorland hills, and the busy shops, pubs and cafés of Boscastle, are a short stroll downhill from Dunn Cottage, whilst there’s lovely cliff and wooded valley walks close nearby.

If you need the feel of sand between your toes, head for the sandy beaches at Bossiney 2 miles away or Trebarwith Strand, which is also a hit with the surfing fraternity.

Ancient Tintagel, rich in history and Arthurian legend, is just along the coast.

This comfortable, well-equipped cottage makes a great base for families to explore this lovely stretch of north Cornwall’s coastline.
