The pretty harbour village of Boscastle is a 15 minute downhill walk from the cottage, where there are shops, cafes, pubs, restaurants and a visitor’s centre.
There are numerous walks along the South West coastal path in and around Boscastle, along with several pretty coves, including Trebarwith Strand, Crackington Haven and Bossiney.
At low tide these reveal sandy beaches with rock pools and it is easy to while away a day with beach activities.
Along the coastal path visitors can enjoy seal spotting and bird watching.
There are also horse riding facilities in the surrounding areas.
Historic Tintagel, with its ancient castle ruins, is only 4 miles from the cottage.
The seaside towns of Bude and Polzeath are both within striking distance by car where there are many seaside attractions to enjoy and both are popular with body borders and surfers.There are many more beaches and coves to discover in the area.
