  • "Thank you for another lovely week at The Boar's House."

The house is of a high standard and extremely clean and cosy. Plenty of everything needed for our stay, as 'Take a ways' are not an option, so home cooking is easy. We love the peace and quiet and the night skies. The views are amazing over the fields with Mounts Bay beyond. The surrounding countryside is really great for walking, throwing in so much history. The locals are great to chat to, a feeling of inclusion. Clotted cream tea on arrival is a nice touch. Thanks very much to you all.

Lovely cottage in the most beautiful location. Wonderfully quiet, so peaceful. The cottage itself is very nice, comfy beds, well equipped kitchen and lovely touches such as vases of flowers, cream tea and a fruit bowl. Owner is also very welcoming and friendly, can't rate this cottage highly enough.

The house and it's location were even better than expected. The house was more spacious than we imagined and the views were beautiful, right across to Mount's Bay. It was lovely that we could walk up onto the moor from the cottage, to standing stones and stunning scenery. It was in a very peaceful setting with only the birds to disturb us :). The owner was very welcoming and helpful when we needed him.

Cosy cottage. Spotlessly clean. Arrived to scones and clotted cream, perfect! Cooking was limited due to lack of equipment, so may I suggest a few things: Large pasta cooking pot, a few more oven dishes and a few more oven trays (there was only one). It was great that things like tea towels, dishwasher tablets, tin foil, teabags were provided, quite unexpected! On the last day the hot water and heating went off, which was quite annoying as we'd wanted showers before the long drive home. The cottage is situated conveniently, so easy to access supermarkets. We ate at some fabulous places: Talay Thai, St Ives, Queens Head, Botallack, Logan's Rock Inn, Treen, Birdies Cafe in Hayle and The Honey Pot in Penzance.

    1. You could do with buying a new toaster. They don't cost much, a wee bit annoying having to keep lifting and looking to see, as it was only toasting one side. 2. Is to have some sort of shelving in the shower, so you have somewhere to stand your shampoo, shower gel.

thanks for letting me know ill replace the toaster kind regards Mike Property Owner

  • "Absolutely loved our fortnight at The Boar's House, Tredinnack, The cottage is very well equipped with everything you could ask for, and beautifully furnished."

The owners' care and attention is there in every detail - the cream tea on arrival, the tiny vases of fresh flowers in every room, thoughtful selection of guides and leaflets to help make the most of the area and the personal contact - Mike dropped by a couple of times to make sure everything was OK and to advise when laundry would be changed and gardens attended to. He also gave us good tips for local walks, direct from the cottage. The location is breathtaking; distant views of Mounts Bay, moorlands and tin mines abound, many Bronze Age and Neolithic sites. Easy to reach both the North Atlantic coast - St Ives, SW Coast Path Zennor to Gurnard's Head and the South - Newlyn, Mousehole and Minack in one direction and Penzance, Marazion (St Michael's Mount) and Porthleven in the other. Great variety and choice of restaurants to be enjoyed. Totally exceeded our expectations.

  • "The cottage was lovely and we loved the location."

The peace was beautiful. Mr Williams was v. friendly and we had a good chat with him. However, as the cottage is fairly off the beaten track we thought it would be hepful to have a sign (stating the name of the cottage) which can be seen from the road. (ie at the end of the drive instead of halfway down). Although we were using sat.nav. we lost our signal near to the cottage and drove past twice! Also, a night light (so as not too bright to keep you awake) would be useful to light the staircase as the toilet is downstairs and is a bit tricky going downstairs in the middle of the night. We are at that age! We would definitely visit again.

About the location

PENZANCE

St Ives 8 miles. Helicopter to Isles of Scilly - 30 minutes

Penzance hosts Golowan, the Midsummer Carnival, and The Literary Festival. There are also The Exchange, Newlyn and Penlee Art Galleries. One of Cornwall’s most popular holiday areas is the spectacular sweep of Mount’s Bay, from the cliffside fishing village of Mousehole through Penzance and around to beautiful Marazion, the coastline hides a wealth of sandy beaches, rocky coves as well as winding village streets and other places to visit and explore. Connected by a causeway to the shore at Marazion is the National Trust’s stunningly beautiful St Michael’s Mount with its hilltop castle and Mediterranean gardens. Walk across at low water and take one of the ferry boats back when the tide is up. Penzance with its winding streets, shops, clubs, restaurants and harbour is a must as it is the jumping-off point for day trips to the Isles of Scilly as well as being the harbor. The South West Coast Path passing through Penzance winds its way along the clifftops towards Land’s End. On the way, stop off for a coffee and a rest at beautiful Lamorna Cove, explore the open air Minack Theatre and marvel at the cliffs as you approach Gwennap Head. A stunning walk for those seeking solitude, exercise and some of the UK’s best coastal scenery. Penzance is the perfect holiday base. Ideally placed for exploring this land of Celtic myth and legend and with enough to do and see in the immediate area to keep all the family occupied.
