The size of the cottage suited us as a family of 5 very well. The location of Boskednan Wartha is fabulous too as its so rural and off the beaten track and yet a short drive gets you to both coasts easily. Michael was very welcoming and friendly and the cream tea on arrival was a really lovely touch. Our only criticism is that the kitchen is in real need of a refurbishment. The worksurfaces around the sink are quite mouldy and the cupboards are showing a lot of wear. However, we had a really lovely stay here. Thank you

To find the property when we went out we used the ' what three words ' app and it got us back to the cottage every time with no problems. This house is beautiful and the location for us was perfect - we visited lots of places including St.Ives, Penzance, St Michael's Mount, Lands End and they were all within a few miles and a short drive. The garden is amazing, my children loved playing out there and were very excited when the little rabbits came out too. Finally the owner is just lovely, we stopped and chatted a few times through the week and he was very welcoming and friendly. We will definitely be booking to go back and fingers crossed for the same weather we had this time! Fresh flowers, fruit and a Cornish cream tea to welcome us. Owner called across on our second day to make sure everything was OK and on our last day on driving past him on a nearby country lane again took the trouble to stop and thank us for our stay. The garden is magnificent and has a continuous supply of rabbits and foxes to watch from the conservatory, which itself is lovely to sit in if you have rainy days.. We only met Mike, who was lovely, and helpful in pointing out routes. i especially liked that there was a fine supply of essential stuff: a pile of jeye cloths, lots of cleaning liquids and toilet rolls. If we have one complaint it is that we couldn’t get the water in the stand-up shower hotter than tepid. I hate overhead shower heads anyway as you can’t direct the flow where you want it and need to wear a shower cap if you don’t want your hair drenched. The water to the bath shower head was lovely and hot. All-in-all a superb place to stay. Thank you to Mike.

The informed chats with Mr Williams was what makes holidays special. The only downside to all of this, are the main agents messrs Sykes Cottages, who expect us to spend more money on Holiday Insurance, just in case we can't come for unexpected reasons. You, a few years ago, did give us a credit on our account when we had to cancel due to such a case, as this property was relet within a few days. In these instances it should not require a holiday insurance when no one has lost anything.

Very welcoming owners who were not intrusive but helpful when necessary. The large well equipped kitchen had every thing we needed and all electrical equipment supplied was easy to use. The large conservatory was comfortable with two doors that could be fully opened to let in cool air. There is a huge free standing bath and a modern shower in the bath room and there was always lots of very hot water available. Beds were comfortable and the bedrooms large and light. The two dogs that run free were friendly and liked attention but didn't attempt to come into the property. The cottage is remotely situated and the approach roads are narrow and in the summer overgrown making slow and careful driving necessary. Penzance is close by and there are three supermarkets on the A30 within 15 minutes drive from the cottage. We found that it was easiest to drive to the supermarket on the way to or from our trips out rather than make a special journey to shop. Places to visit locally; Marazion (St Michael's Mount), Eden Project, St Ives, Mousehole and Pendennis Castle at Falmouth. Lands end is expensive, over comercialised and very busy.

About the location

PENZANCE

St Ives 8 miles. Helicopter to Isles of Scilly - 30 minutes

One of Cornwall’s most popular holiday areas. The spectacular sweep of Mount’s Bay, from the cliffside fishing village of Mousehole through Penzance and around to beautiful Marazion, hides a wealth of sandy beaches, rocky coves, winding village streets and other places to visit and explore. Connected by causeway to the shore at Marazion is the National Trust’s stunningly beautiful St Michael’s Mount with its hilltop castle and Mediterranean gardens. Walk across at low water and take one of the ferry boats back when the tide is up. Penzance with its winding streets, shops, clubs, restaurants and harbour is a must as is the jumping-off point for day trips to the Scilly Isles. The South West Coast Path passing through Penzance winds its way along the clifftops towards Land’s End. On the way, stop off for a coffee and a rest at beautiful Lamorna Cove, explore the open air Minack Theatre and marvel at the cliffs as you approach Gwennap Head. A stunning walk for those seeking solitude, exercise and some of the UK’s best coastal scenery. Penzance is the perfect holiday base. Ideally placed for exploring this land of Celtic myth and legend and with enough to do and see in the immediate area to keep all the family occupied.
