  • "The property had a very strong and unpleasant smell of dogs; I understand this is a pet friendly property but the smell shouldn’t be there."

We had to buy air freshener and scented candles which still didn’t get rid of the smell. Dust and cobwebs in light fittings, stains and marks in bed sheets, most crockery and glassware dirty, curtains only just hanging on in dining area, no instructions for oven (details on the cooker itself had rubbed off so no way of knowing which setting was which!!), no drawers or shelves in twin rooms, no shower mat in bathroom - bath very slippery for use as shower, incorrect menu in cottage for the clubhouse and no details regarding what to do, where to go, check out information etc. Our 4th stay here and this was the most basic and tired cottage so far.

  • "Lovely cottage."

Clean and well equipped. The complex is beautiful - close to Maenport beach (which was a favourite of ours). There is a path through the complex to walk there which took around 20 minutes. We could hear owls hooting at night, and lots of squirrels in the trees. Cottage was spacious enough for our family of 6. We appreciated the fresh white bedding and the fluffy white towels. The cottage Wifi struggled a bit. Nice to have the tea, coffee and milk provided when we arrived. We ate breakfast on the picnic bench outside by the beautiful hydrangeas. Definitely recommend this cottage to others.

  • "The cooker you cannot read any of the settings so you do not know the temperature or the setting it is on."

The fact dogs have stayed there meant that some units look like they had been eaten aswell as the tv remote control. The shower in the en-suite had the control button missing to turn it on. The cleaning was not to a good standard though on arrival. We had to vacuum straight away to allow the kids to play.

Good facilities and kitchen equipment. The park is quiet which was lovely and a great base for the area.

  • "A lovely cottage well positioned in a quiet corner of the site."

I had to work during my trip and was unable to do so due to the lack of reliable/good quality WiFi and poor mobile service (mobile phone signal out of owners control) but other relatives also on site all had much better WiFi. The facilities where okay. 6 of every item i.e. plates, cups etc. The property desperately needs a real fridge and freezer as currently there is an undercounter fridge with box freezer, which meant shopping was required every other day if not every day due to lack of cold space both in the fridge and freezer. A bottle of milk, tea bags, coffee etc. where left for us on arrival which was nice as we where able to have a coffee on arrival (we had driven for 14 hours) which was a God send! The furniture was comfortable but extremely dated and a little big for the rooms. Also, the hot water takes about 60mins to heat up so make sure your showers are planned at least an hour in advance. However, I would recommend this property to someone looking for an escape from it all. Beautifully clean and in stunning grounds. If you open the front bedroom window you can hear the brook at the end of the bath running past which is really relaxing. Once I had finished working the lack of signal was actually amazing and helped to ensure a full break from work and being at home and to help recharge and really appreciate your surroundings so for that I would stay again and would recommend it to anyone looking for this.

Thank you fro completing our feedback. We are in contact with the WiFi company to check on our connection. Please do not hesitate to contact either myself or Sykes cottages should you ever experience any issues at the property. Property Owner

  • "The holiday village of Pendra Loweth is excellent, close to Falmouth and beaches, with the cottages set in superbly maintained communal gardens."

However, No.71 could do with a face-lift - the sofas are tired, curtains in the sitting room need rehanging and the kitchen equipment limited and needs reviewing for example only three dinner plates (two of which are badly chipped) n a cottage sleeping six people.

  • "Lovely house in a good location."

Good selection of utensils in the kitchen and milk thoughtfully left in the fridge on arrival. Lovely clean sheets and towels. I was a little surprised when we stripped the beds, as required on leaving, to find there were no mattress protectors. I would have thought these essential regardless of Covid. A little more out of Falmouth centre than suggested but that wasn't a problem for us with a car. Very few extra parking spaces if you were arriving with more than 1 vehicle. Overall a great few days away in a quiet private area of Falmouth. Thank you.

  • "Not really but more mirrors would be useful and possibly a dishwasher instead of a washing machine."

These are very minor and probably more personal taste than anything. Very impressed with how clean and fresh it was when we arrived. Loved it. Thank you very much.

  • "The wifi signal in the cottage was very poor as was the phone signal."

This made it very difficult to make calls or use the internet. This was particularly important given that due to social distancing all events, including eating out, needed to be booked in advance. There was a problem with the back door, which we were unable to lock. I made contact by email but this was not answered. However, when I reported it to reception the following day it was addressed and repaired straight away. It's a shame that the splash pool couldn't be open due to Covid-19, perhaps we will have to visit again after the pandemic is over.

  • "It was a nice cottage and the Covid precautions were adequate."

However there were dirty wet towels left in a bedroom wardrobe. The housekeeper eventually took these away and apologised. The lights in the lounge were flickering and there was no bulb in the lamp. Clearly some maintenance required on a few things. I also left a message after we left about a phone charger left behind but heard nothing back! On the whole it was a nice stay but some attention and updating of equipment is needed.

  • "Helpful staff and owner to arrange a change of arrival date for us in order to make our daughter's university interviews a little less stressed!"

This is a great property in a very good location with proximity to beaches and Falmouth itself. We were delighted by the general cleanliness and appearance of the house on arrival. Only two minor (and they are minor) points: on arrival at 9.30pm we didn't expect to be extracting several spiders from every bedroom before our kids would event consider going to bed! The second is that only being there for 3 nights we thought not supplying any washing up liquid was a little mean. Especially as someone had gone to the trouble to supply a dish cloth and sponge, hand soap and some milk and biscuits! Aside from that I think that with the price at this time of year it was great value for money. Good for families I would say.

Very disappointed that no WiFi available (travelling with 4 teenagers) , especially following several discussions with Sykes team who promised to sort. Good bar with food on site and also plunge pool and hot tub were a welcome addition.
