    Mr Weigel

“The cottage feels very private and is close to a pretty stream.”

There is ample space and the main bedroom is lovely, the lack of wifi and mobile signal just makes this a more relaxing place to be. Visiting in November we didn't expect the weather to be kind but we're able to enjoy miles of walks on the nearby beautiful Bodmin moor.

The property

For a totally relaxing holiday or break away from modern everyday life with no phone signal, WiFi, or even TV to spoil the peace this beautifully converted old mill set over 3 floors offers a rare chance to enjoy just the tranquillity and wildlife of a beautiful wooded valley 7 miles from Launceston.

You approach Botternell Mill off a scenic country road linking the ancient historic towns of Launceston and Liskeard entering through a private gate to the grounds of the Mill.

Enter on the ground floor where the twin bedroom and en suite bathroom are located before taking the stairs to the open plan living room with kitchen, dining and sitting areas.

The large balcony accessed from here is the feature of the Mill where hours can be spent relaxing observing the wildlife particularly the birds including kingfishers which can regularly be seen.

Finally the romantic double bedroom with an en suite bathroom featuring a spa bath is on the second floor where of a night all you will hear will be the owls who nest close by.

Relaxation is what you will come here for but if you do want to connect to the outside world a short stroll will enable you to get a phone signal .

For days out many moorland villages and walks are close at hand and easily accessed but you will always enjoy returning to Botternell Mill, a wonderfully different memorable place to be enjoyed all year round

About the location

LAUNCESTON

Bude 19 miles.

The town of Launceston, situated on the Devon and Cornwall border, has wonderful architecture, including some fine Georgian buildings in the central square, and is dominated by the ruins of a Norman castle sitting high above the town. Visit the Tamar Otter Park just 3 miles away or take a trip on the steam train from Launceston through the beautiful Kensey Valley on a 5-mile round trip. Launceston is within driving distance of the seaside resorts of Bude and Padstow to the north, and Plymouth to the south, as well as the stunning Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor. A superb base for exploring Cornwall and Devon.
