  • "We had a lovely stay at Briony."

The cottage was very clean and comfortable, and very well equipped. The garden was beautiful, and it was a real treat to be able to sit outside, and be joined by the friendly cats. Thank you Ginny, we hope to be back!

  • "A very enjoyable week at this property."

A home from home with a wonderful garden with the bonus of having a pub next door selling good food at a reasonable price. Would have no problems recommending this property to anyone and hope to be back one day.

  • "We arrived in grim drizzly wet weather but were very pleased to find a lovely property extremely well laid out and with a very well equipped kitchen including basic cooking condiments."

We drove to Okehampton where there was a choice of at least 3 supermarkets and did a basic food shop for the nights we would eat in. At 6 o'clock we went the very short distance to The Clovelly Inn and although we hadn't booked they did fit us in and we had a very delicious meal of homemade pie. A good friendly pub and we felt very welcome. We drove to many places on our visit and were extremely lucky with the weather for February. Would definitely recommend Buckland Abbey, and Bude was great for a bracing walk. We enjoyed watching the varied bird life in the large garden. Ginny was very friendly and helpful and happy to be contacted.

  • "A perfect place for a stay."

Comfortable bed, an excellent shower and lots of room for the two of us. There's a popular friendly pub two doors away with good food, but it's not noisy. Or there are lots of other choices for food by driving for 15 mins or more. Lots of places to visit with Bratton Clovelly as a centre, such as Dartmoor, Castle Drogo and Tavistock. We also drove to and then cycled on the Tarka Trail and the Camel Trail at Padstow. Being away from major towns means also there's an excellent view of the stars from the back door of the cottage.

  • "Excellent property, extremely helpful hostess."

Ideal, out of the way location for a relaxing holiday, yet central enough to be able to visit both north and south coasts. Only concern was the directions given! The route given once off the A30 was along extremely narrow single track road with limited passing places. A more direct and wider route was given by owner, and proved much more sensible. That being via the A386 and then the A3079 (signposted Bude) taking the left hand exit at Castle Cross/Broadbury signpost, easily identified by the radio mast adjacent to the junction.
