  • "The Lily Pad is a lovely cosy cottage in the garden of owners Julie and Rob."

It is like the Tardis-looks small on the outside but has lots of space inside. There is a short driveway to the property and you step immediately into the galley kitchen which leads into the lounge. The bedroom and ensuite shower room is off the kitchen. There is a patio garden through doors from the lounge. Julie and Rob have provided everything that you could possibly need for your stay-including a selection of herbs and spices in the kitchen. The Lily Pad was warm and comfortable and there was a welcome pack of scones, jam and cream plus milk waiting for us. Julie and Rob popped round to welcome us on our second day and would have been on hand if we had needed them. There is lots to do in the area and we visited Porthleven, Newquay, Falmouth, Newlyn and St Ives which are all within easy travelling distance. Nearby Miss Molly's Tearoom is well worth a visit for all-day breakfast and a rummage round the extensive vintage warehouse. We had a lovely week at the Lily Pad and would not hesitate to return or to recommend it to family, friends and other Sykes customers. Thank you Julie and Rob for making this accommodation so comfortable and welcoming.

It is clean and tidy except the sofa which looks dirty and stained, We took a large throw with us thankfully and covered the worst of it, we found it strange as everything else was really good, We think it really needs replacing as it was off putting, never the less we would not hesitate to return.

The property itself was clean and well presented - a credit to the owners Rob & Julie.

Thank for taking the time to leave your feedback. Most people, based on their driving abilities will have no problem parking in the drive, it may take a little manoeuvring, but with a cleverly placed mirror opposite and only coming from a village road, this is very manageable. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

  • "I thoroughly enjoyed my recent stay in the Lily Pad."

It is a very comfortable and quiet property with all mod cons, adjacent to the owners house and set back from a little used road in the village of Higher Brea. There is good off road parking on a drive for the sole use of the Lily Pad. There are views out onto hills from the sliding patio doors. The patio itself is secluded and an idyllic spot for a drink on a sunny afternoon. I stayed in early February but the property was always warm and comfortable, a testament to it's excellent insulation. A log effect electric fire was very effective at raising the temperature on an early morning should it be felt to be needed. The property is perfectly situated for exploring the North Cornwall Coast and as far as Lands End. The Great Flat Lode Mining Trail is right on the doorstep of the Lily Pad. The owners. Rob and Julie, were very friendly and very helpful, Nothing being too much trouble. I will certainly be looking to go back for another holiday in the future in the Lily Pad. I have no hesitation in highly recommending the Lily Pad for a single person or a couple looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of our busy lives. Highly recommended.

Everything we expected and more. There was a Cornish cream tea waiting for us and some milk, a very nice thought. The heating was on for our arrival and the bed had a throw over the duvet as it was bitterly cold for the whole week. This was our second stay at the Lily Pad and we hope to see the owners again on our next visit. They both popped around for a chat and to see if all was well. An excellent week and the sun shone every day ( December).
