  • "The property was good Size in good location."

There were however some shortcomings probably because it was so newly refurbished The hot water taps made a noises like a fog horn. There were no hooks to hang coats at all The lighting down stairs was uncomfortably glaring and was either on or off. The cooker hood corners were a danger to eyes and /or scalp. The magnificent TV was way above eye level There were no recycling provision The out side steps were far to short ie A trip hazard Having said all that the bathroom even without hooks was excellent and the shower was the best electric one I have ever come across Otherwise lovely cottage and grand place to stay anyway

  • "Absolutely loved the cottage, good central location, spotless and fresh when we arrived- best smelling bedding I've ever had!"

!!! However, just a couple of minor things we could of done with - they could do with putting some coat pegs in the under stairs cupboard (it's so big under there make it a useful space) rather than having to hang jackets on the banister rail and a couple of comfy lounge chairs outside to sit and enjoy the last of the evening sun would be a great addition rather than having to sit at the picnic table which aren't very comfy to relax at.

About the location

Truro 14 miles; St Ives 15 miles.

With its sheltered harbour, beautiful Portreath was, in the 1800s, a hive of activity and industry as a major tin-exporting port. Today, the village attracts visitors from around the world with its wild and rugged coastline. High cliffs, secluded coves and sandy, surf-washed beaches typify the area while all around are reminders of the area's rich industrial heritage. Portreath offers a small fishing harbour, shops, a number of pubs, three cafés and a Chinese restaurant, while its safe, sheltered sandy beach is a popular attraction. For a great day out, visit the cathedral city of Truro with its cobbled streets, shopping centre, theatre, museum and great restaurants, just 14 miles away, or travel a few miles along the coast and follow the vast expanse of sandy beach, which leads down to Hayle and on to St Ives. A delightful holiday location.
