  • "The cottage smelt of damp downstairs and the mattresses were very uncomfortable."

The front door doesn't fit so you have to bang it shut and push hard to open, I wasn't sure if the handle was going to break. The pub in the village only serves alcohol and not food.

Thank you for your feedback and bringing this to our attention. We are sorry you found some issues at the property, but can now confirm that the damp smell you mentioned was caused by some damp logs left in the fireplace that have since been removed. In addition to this the mattresses have all been replaced and all of the doors have been fixed. On a final note, there are two lovely places that serve food in the area, Trengilly Wartha Inn, which is only a 20 min walk away and the Ferry Boat Inn at Helford Passage which is 10 minutes by car. • "We had a very enjoyable week at Jackdaw Cottage, a perfect location for exploring the south west of Cornwall."

The cottage had ever thing provided, we did not want for anything. We cannot fault any part of our stay.

  • "We had a lovely week in Jackdaw cottage, really loved the location in the Constantine as it was close enough to the coast with lovely beaches around Helford passage and the Lizard peninsula not to far away."

I'm not sure that the pub in Constantine does food but the Trengilly Wartha Inn is only a 20 min walk away and does nice food and we also enjoyed the Ferry Boat Inn at Helford Passage about a 10 min drive. The cottage itself is nicely presented and well equipment although the quality of the finish is average and it did seem like it had been furnished and equipped as cheaply as possible. One gripe was the dishwasher! Despite being in a full size kitchen cupboard there is only a mini dishwasher installed which barely fits anything in it and is very awkward to stack! They should really consider replacing this with a full size dishwasher as no one wants to be washing up on holiday! The single bedroom does not have a TV as stated in the listing.

Thank you for taking the time to complete your feedback. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay at Jackdaw Cottage, with lots of lovely beaches and places to eat nearby. We have arranged for a member of our team to visit the property to check the points you have raised and we hope to welcome you back to Cornwall in the future. Property Owner

only slight downside/frustration was the constant smell and feeling of it being damp throughout the stay.
