“We had a lovely week in Jackdaw cottage, really loved the location in the Constantine as it was close enough to the coast with lovely beaches around Helford passage and the Lizard peninsula not to far away.”

I'm not sure that the pub in Constantine does food but the Trengilly Wartha Inn is only a 20 min walk away and does nice food and we also enjoyed the Ferry Boat Inn at Helford Passage about a 10 min drive. ...

I'm not sure that the pub in Constantine does food but the Trengilly Wartha Inn is only a 20 min walk away and does nice food and we also enjoyed the Ferry Boat Inn at Helford Passage about a 10 min drive. The cottage itself is nicely presented and well equipment although the quality of the finish is average and it did seem like it had been furnished and equipped as cheaply as possible. One gripe was the dishwasher! Despite being in a full size kitchen cupboard there is only a mini dishwasher installed which barely fits anything in it and is very awkward to stack! They should really consider replacing this with a full size dishwasher as no one wants to be washing up on holiday! The single bedroom does not have a TV as stated in the listing.

About the location

Falmouth 9 miles; Truro 14 miles.

A charmingly picturesque country village with a few shops, a pub and a lovely church, set among green rolling meadows and wooded valleys leading down to the beautiful Helford river, just 3 miles away. Famous for its mild climate, this quieter part of Cornwall has the outstanding gardens of Trebah, Penjerrick, Glendurgan and Carwinion all within 4 miles. For nature lovers and those who enjoy boats, the misty reaches of the Helford river meander upstream to Gweek, where the world renowned Seal Sanctuary looks after the region’s many abandoned and injured seals. Falmouth, with its narrow streets, natural harbour and National Maritime Museum is just 20 minutes by car, while Flambards theme park (8 miles) and Argal Lake with its water sports attractions make great days out. The nearby beautiful Lizard Peninsula, with its outstanding beaches and quaint fishing villages dotting the rocky coastline, has the benefit of outstanding scenery, tranquillity and some great walks.
