  • "Bit noisy with the trains but got used to them."

Chatted with the neighbours they were all lovely. Loved the flow of the river as it is tidal. The front door catch needs adjustment as it will not close it is easy to fix.The TV needs adjustment as it is a week signal and flashes and you loose the picture. We loved the area and the accommodation was very clean and tidy. The top shower splashes on the floor and we did have to wipe it after every shower. Fix these few points and you have five stars. We loved it.

Thank you for your feedback and for your suggestions.I will ask the builder to take a look at the front door and perhaps change the “waterfall” shower head in the top bathroom. The TV engineer came and fixed the TV a few months ago so i will also let him know that you had issues with it. Am pleased that on the whole everything was okay and will strive to have your suggestions sorted in the hope that if you return the house may get 5 stars. Thank you again for pointers and for staying at The Moorings. Property Owner

  • "Had a lovely stay at The Moorings, very comfortable and clean."

Loved rowing down the river which is right outside the property. Lostwithiel is a small town, very quiet but has everything you need. The railway line and station is very close and can be noisy but of great advantage for travelling. We had an excellent journey to Penzance where we joined an open topped bus at the adjacent bus station to visit Lands End. I would highly recommend this property to enjoy the wonders of Cornwall, it is in a good central position for exploring both country and the coastline. Very close to Fowey, lots of small bays, Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan.

I am pleased you found The Moorings comfortable and clean and that you enjoyed exploring so much of Cornwall by train, car and bus. Thank you for your comments and for sharing your suggestions re day trips. Property Owner

  • "The inside of house was comfortable, clean and well equipped."

However the guest information book needs updating as it says that parking is available in bay 38, which is being used permanently by somebody else. The balcony needed sweeping and the cobwebs cleaned off the railings. The outside furniture was firmly covered and the umbrella covered too. We were not sure if we were allowed to use it. It’s June and the outdoor furniture should be uncovered and ready for guests to use as per the photo used to advertise the property. Just a few points, but overall we enjoyed the house and Lostwithiel is charming.

Thank you for your feedback. I have spoken with the housekeeper and she will sweep and “de cobweb” the balcony. I do email guests re parking but take on board your comments and will ensure the information booklet is updated .I am SO sorry you felt you couldnt use the patio furniture - it is absolutely for guests use and enjoyment - and guests often comment on sitting outside enjoying looking out over the river. We tend to keep it covered because of unpredictable weather, I will ensure guests are aware that they can use the furniture. I am pleased that overall you enjoyed the house and Lostwithiel and I will do my best to address your issues. Property Owner

  • "This house is right on the river, which is lovely."

It is also located conveniently close to the railway station, which seems to be well-connected if you choose to travel by train rather than car. The house was spotlessly clean, with a nice little welcome basket in the well-equipped kitchen. The house also has a utility room with a washer-dryer and sink, plus a patio area with furniture if you want to sit outside. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't in our favour on this trip. I would definitely visit The Moorings again.

Sorry for the delay responding but much appreciate your comments and your thoughts about the house and area.... such a pity about the weather but everything crossed it will be better if you choose to visit again. Many Thanks Vivienne Property Owner

  • "The building itself is well homely and comfortable."

Each bedroom is individually styled. Bathrooms feature modern fittings and showers in each of the en suites are great. The location is great to explore the Village and 2 of the main pubs serve excellent, freshly cooked food. The Globe is a little overpriced but good food and the Royal Oak is priced at a more reasonable level but both have excellent home cooked food. Beware the train station. These are trains that travel through the South West and are full on express trains so can be regular and quite loud when passing through the adjacent station. The Village is very well served with an excellent deli, Butchers and a well stocked Co-Op, all within very easy walking distance over the famous bridge. The river is the perfect backdrop for a drink on the patio on an evening and garden furniture is comfortable and serves a family party well.
