  • "The arrival time and departure times means essentially a whole day is removed from your holiday."

If we are asked to leave at 10am it does not take a team of cleaners 7 hours to prepare the property for the next people. Particularly when you require the property to be left as found so we essentially clean it for you??

  • "House is in a great location for the shops of Bude and the Beach you could leave the car parked at the house and walk everywhere."

It has a safe and secure garden for the dog which we loved. The beds were clean and comfortable, and the kitchen is well equipped. However the house in our opinion is looking tired and needs some money spending on it especially decorating the inside and the garden outside. The cleaners could perhaps do a better job as cleaning the front windows to remove dog marks with a dirty cloth won’t ack it neither will leaving hair in the bathroom sink or marks in the bath. These are only a few things and would in no way stop us from booking the property again in the future.

  • "A little toilet paper in both toilets would have been useful until we got to a shop."

Good job we had small cars as would have been impossible to get a big one between the gate posts and even when very wet had to park right in the hedge and walk on the grass. Location very handy.

  • "Location was amazing, perfect for access to the beach and Bude town itself."

Accommodation was clean and perfect for a weeks stay with two teenagers! Having amazing weather helped. In terms of anything that could improve the stay there are a few minor things in terms of practicalities. - having a side gate that was lockable, plus the gate at the end of the rear garden with a lock accessible from the car park would be great. - The shower drainage was very poor, as was the drainage from the washing machine which then pumped water up through the kitchen sink - if the garage was available as a usable space for either parking another car or storage of wetsuits/surf boards overnight. However, these are minor issues as overall we had an amazing time. House was really comfortable and felt like a home away from home rather than a Holiday home.

  • "We asked for extra pillows as there were only one each but didn't get them,so had to buy some ."

The bed in the front bedroom was really uncomfortable.,not enough storage in all bedrooms . There was no carpet on the stairs . A light is needed in the back garden. The owner was told about a problem with the upstairs toilet and asked if the top came off and was told that we are not plumbers and would like him to get it fixed .Also the cleaner would not come in and change the bedding and clean which we were told that she would be doing in the middle so we had to do it ourselves. Also each time we contacted the owner he didn't get back to us so we had to keep ringing him .

Thank you for your feedback. The owner thought there were 2 pillows each so is sorry if this was not the case and will ensure they are checked. They have not had any previous issues reported before about the beds or a lack of storage but is sorry if the bed was not to your liking. The owner did come to address the toilet issue that evening and had a plumber there the next day so acted as quickly as he could to get it fixed. The cleaner also dropped off fresh and linen and towels after your first week and took away the used items. Not many cleaners are prepared to enter a property during someone's stay at present due to concerns around Covid. I am sorry for any inconvenience but we would not pressure a cleaner to enter a property for this. The owner said there is a light over the side door. He also answered all your calls but had trouble reaching the cleaner at first so did not call you bask as there was no update. We are sorry if the property did not meet your expectations but do hope you enjoyed your stay otherwise. Property Owner

Good location to walk into Bude and the beach, and the Coop 1 minute walk, garden for outside meals, freshly decorated and good bed linen - good value - some bifold doors from dining room and kitchen would be good - but then you might charge more :)

  • "After reading some previous reviews, this holiday cottage completely exceeded my expectations."

Clearly the owners have worked hard to provide an extremely comfortable holiday property. Important things: a great modern bathroom with an excellent power shower, ultra comfortable bed with really good quality bedding, large fluffy towels, good internet connection, and a secure garden for our dogs. All the furniture in the property is clearly of a very good quality and I appreciated the throws having been provided for the dogs in order to protect the sofas. The kitchen was well equipped with a large fridge freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. The house is ideally situated in the centre of Bude (but also very quiet). It backs onto the car park of the Coop, with a rear gate in the garden - perfect if you just want to pop out quickly for that pint of milk or bottle of wine. All the shops and restaurants are literally within a minute of two walking distance. The rear of the property also leads directly onto a public footpath across the golf course, so perfect for dog walking. The house was spotlessly clean throughout - not a trace of web or dust. Just two things I would mention, yes, the parking is tight and anyone with a 4x4 is going to struggle - I have a Nissan Qashqai and I had to have my wits about me! Also the provision of a full length mirror would be an excellent extra touch. I would absolutely not hesitate to book this property again.

  • "The house as usual was lovely."

Just a few cobwebs but nothing we couldn’t cope with. Fitted out well. Location is really good just five minutes from the beach. Hopefully we’ll be able to visit again soon.

Perfect for a family. Excellent safe garden for dogs. Brill location for walking to beaches etc. No problem parking the Landrover on the drive. Amazing shower. Highly recommend this property.

  • "The house overall was clean, well equipped and in a very good location for the shops and centre of Bude."

The garden was spacious and secure for our dog. There are a number of things that let this property down though. The bed was very uncomfortable and you can feel every spring as you move. No recycling bins were provided, only a single waste bin. We ended up bringing our own glass home to recycle. It would also benefit from a new kettle in keeping with the modern fitted kitchen too.

Beds and settees were very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with crockery, etc. Excellent location, with short walks to town and beach. Good dog walking across adjacent golf course on public footpath.

  • "The inside of the property is comfortable, fitted out with high quality furnishings."

We found the sofas and bed to be very comfy. The kitchen has plenty of storage space, with newly fitted appliances and quality crockery and cutlery. It has everything without being cluttered. (A new tin opener and a water tank for the coffee machine are needed). The outside space was enclosed at the rear, ideal for our dog. A gate leads straight into the co-op carpark so you couldnt be any closer for stocking up on last minute essentials. The garden could benefit from a little TLC. The addition of some comfortable garden furniture, outside lighting and a place to dry clothes would be great for families. We had a great week staying in cranberry and would definately stay again.

Lovely large enclosed garden. Few minor problems in 1st week with house which were resolved by the owner who was very cooperative.

  • "We had a good week despite Storm Ciara doing her best to spoil it!"

We were the first guests at this cottage so there were a few very minor things like no scissors in the kitchen and the duvets were far too thick for us, but, on the whole, it was a lovely place to stay right in the middle of Bude. There was a dog bowl and towels specially for our dog which was a useful idea particularly considering the weather.

About the location

Tintagel 17 miles.

Bude is a fabulous coastal town that once visited you will want to come back to time and time again. Bude has something for everyone, great beaches for relaxing, and building sandcastles on, rockpools for investigating at low tide and cafes to watch it all from. The rolling waves are great for surfing all year round, and the footpaths by the restored canal or on the North Cornwall coastal path offer you a superb opportunity to explore and appreciate the outstanding countryside. Bude also has a superb golf course, indoor swimming pool, bowling alley/indoor play area and Heritage Centre at Bude Castle. It also has a good selection of local shops, supermarkets, cafes, pubs, restaurants and excellent Information Centre. Within a short drive are the remains of a huge iron age hill fort at Warbstow Bury, from where panoramic views can be seen. For days out, take the coast road north to see the lonely lighthouse above the sea at Hartland Point or walk or ride a donkey down the steep and cobbled village street (no cars allowed) of beautiful Clovelly to the harbour and the pub far below. Follow the coast in the other direction and there's the little cove of Crackington Haven, Boscastle, King Arthur's castle at Tintagel, Doc Martin's Port Wenn at Port Isaac and yet more great surfing beaches at Polzeath.
