  • "Large house , plenty of space , fabulous views across the valley ."

Particularly liked the 2 balconies . The house has so much potential. However there was no television signal , the dvd player didnt work and tripped the electric mains when plugged in , the internet hub did not work , the downstairs bathroom light switch was broken so had to remove bulb. In general the house needs a lot of love and attention ie maintenance.

  • "Thank you for our lovely stay, just a couple of things that may be helpful for your next guests, Do we have to top up the electric?"

I did because I was worried we should, but a note to say this would have been helpful. A welcome sheet with where you would like things put on last day, about the recycling and so on. As I say just little things that would have helped, other than these we have a very relaxing stay and I'm sure we will be back in the future.

  • "We had the most wonderful time in Bude."

Upon arrival though first thing we noticed was dog poo on the steps to the cottage, the outside is overgrown and needs some general gardening/weeding/bushes cutting back. There is a table and chairs outside which we loved to sit at to eat, however the beautiful view is obscured by a big bush. The cottage itself is lovely and so spacious it has so much potential, however the cleanliness was not up to par at all, dust, cobwebs and spiders everywhere, the hoover has an awful smell to it too. The kitchen needs replenishing, no cheese grater, only one pan, no flutes etc, not enough for a family of 6. Could do with a dishwasher too. A welcome pack would make the world of difference too, we had to figure out where to take rubbish out, Wi-Fi code etc. I've never stayed in a Sykes cottage without a welcome pack before and we have stayed in many Sykes cottages. Our holiday was amazing and we will certainly book with Sykes again for a different cottage.
