    “Idyllic location with fabulous views.”

We stayed at willow cottage for 2 weeks and enjoyed every moment of it. This place left us fully refreshed due in part to the great nights sleep we had. The beds were comfy, the pillows and quilt were very snuggly, but it was the lack of noise and light pollution which really helped. Away from the main road with magnificent views this is a great location for couples and families alike. Willow Cottage has its own private garden away from the others, we had many BBQs in this and spent the evenings relaxing, watching the sun set. We had beautiful bluebells growing in the garden and a little blackbird which tapped on our window when the curtains were open. I think to nudge us to feed it. Kitchen had everything you would need. Surprisingly we even had cupboard space for our own food. Quite often the owners fill all the cupboards with everything they think the occupant may need, but leave no empty spaces, which I find frustrating. Bathroom is quite large. Shower was only so so as the water pressure was a little low. WiFi was available, but again this was temperamental, you have to keep logging in, probably due to the location. But our phones had full coverage, so it wasn’t an issue. If you enjoy photography, this would be a place to visit. The sunset was gorgeous and when no clouds the stars seem to go on forever. As someone who normally lives in a city with a great deal of light pollution, this was a special treat. Apparently you can see the Milky Way in the summer months. Parking is provided for each cottage. We all had our own areas. Dogs are welcome and the owners had a very friendly dog of their own. The alpaca’s were a little shy but lovely to watch. This place is away from the main towns, but everything is within a short drive. One shop is walkable across the fields adjacent to this property. Would recommend this place and if back in area would not hesitate to stay here.

Bennetts Court Cottages

Bennetts Court Holiday Cottages is a small group of five, situated on the owners' 11-acre site on the edge of the small Cornish village of Whitstone, near Bude. Converted from stone and cob barns, these Cornish cottages are approached along a private tree-lined drive and provide a peaceful escape to the countryside, where there are far-reaching views across fields grazed by a handsome herd of alpacas. On site there is plenty to occupy guests, from a dip in the outdoor swimming pool to a cuddle with Benjamin bunny in pet’s corner, or a social BBQ with other guests to a table tennis game with the family. Each cottage has its own garden area, from which you can enjoy a cuppa in the sun whilst watching the children play on the swings against a backdrop of rural tranquillity, planning a day on the beach. Alternatively, head out to discover the majesty of this wonderful region. Visit the gorgeous beaches at Widemouth Bay or Bude, and spend the day rock pooling, body boarding, surfing or walking the coastal path. The local Camel Trail is a long-distance path ideal for cycling, and the stretch between Wadebridge and Padstow is particularly popular. Why not take a trip out to sea on a boat, catch a foot passenger ferry over to Rock from Padstow or frequent the numerous farm shops, country inns and quaint Cornish villages, all of which are on the doorstep of this cosy Whitstone cottage?

The cottage

An attractive Cornish stone barn conversion, one of five holiday cottages on the owners’ 11-acre site on the edge of the small village of Whitstone.

A single-storey cottage with easy access, this pretty Whitstone cottage provides a romantic rural retreat for two, boasting views over open countryside to the coast at Widemouth Bay from the bedroom.

With some fabulous features including a vaulted ceiling with exposed beams, this Cornish cottage is a comfortable, welcoming base.

The well-kept grounds at Bennetts Court are located at the end of a private, tree-lined drive overlooked by a herd of alpacas, and guests are provided with a warm welcome by the owners and all the animals.

At Bennetts Court, guests have access to a wealth of shared facilities, including a play room with table tennis, BBQ area for warm sunny evenings, and even an outdoor pool, so you can take a dip to cool off after a long day out and about exploring.

This part of the Cornish coastline is rich in beaches and therefore guests at this Whitstone cottage will have a huge choice of surfing, swimming and rock pool beaches to choose from.

Much of the coastline in this area is owned by the National Trust and is a haven for wildlife, providing fabulous walking opportunities.

There are many pretty coves and inlets to discover within a short drive from this Whitstone cottage, including Crackington Haven, Boscastle and Morwenstow, whilst further afield, the fishing port of Padstow is a popular tourist destination.

A welcoming cottage from which to explore the richness of the North Cornwall coastal area.
