  • “Lovely cottage but needs updating”
Stayed here for a week and was such a nice quiet place to be. First of all it was very hard to find as the sat nav says you've reached your destination before you've arrived. You then have to carry down the road for 5 minutes to reach it. Then there's a tiny sign in the hedge. So it needs to be better sign posted. There's about 3 cottages in the same area which are very big and spacious ...
There's about 3 cottages in the same area which are very big and spacious. It's a very peaceful area, making it easy to sleep and relax. Each room is very spacious and has great views from the Windows. However due to the space, there could be more furniture and overall it needs to be more updated. The TV is very old fashioned and is hard to get specific channels. There are no wardrobes, just curtains with hangers behind them! The sink also kept getting blocked when it rained and made strange noises as the dirt was being pushed back up it. It does need some serious work but the people who own it are very elderly, so I don't expect it. The cleaners also need to actually clean... I found an empty mars bar wrapper under my bed. Disgusting! However everything else was lovely. Was able to hang washing out on the line. Mattresses were very comfortable. Really enjoyed sitting in the conservatory and having meals. Oven cooked quickly and was just generally a pretty cottage. Would only return if work was done.

About the location

REAWLA

Hayle 3 miles.

Reawla is a pretty village set among lush green fields, just 4 miles inland from the glorious beaches at Hayle, and the perfect base for exploring the land of Celtic myth and legend that is Cornwall’s far west. Reminders of Cornwall’s tin mining heritage are all around, yet the coast with its rolling surf, miles of sandy beaches, hidden coves and outstanding cliff-top walking is just minutes away. Close too are Penzance, Helston and the quaint fishing harbour and artists’ colony of St Ives, while the imposing presence of St Michael’s Mount with its medieval castle and church, standing off shore in Mount’s Bay will provide a visit to remember. A perfect holiday area.
