“The milling barn was a great choice.”
We travelled with our elderly in-laws and the upside-down design with the bedrooms downstairs worked really well plus we had the benefit of using the balcony beside the kitchen during some beautiful weather.
We travelled with our elderly in-laws and the upside-down design with the bedrooms downstairs worked really well plus we had the benefit of using the balcony beside the kitchen during some beautiful weather. The location was ideal for travelling to loads of coastal and inland locations and most importantly we had a lovely relaxing base to return to at the end of the day.
“Very spacious cottage with lots of room, even for 9 people and very homely, kitchen very well equipped.”
Duvets/Pillows could do with replacing and updating bedlinen. Quite a few moths in every room and a musty smell, mostly downstairs. Wifi would be beneficial.
“Half the radiators did not work, so 2 of 4 bedrooms really cold.”
Ancient bed linen, smelled really bad, don't think they had been washed since previous occupants.
“Wonderful owners, lovely property”
“Owners were very friendly and helpful, especially as one of our party had a flat battery one morning, thanks for all your help.”
“Loved the spa”
Hayle 3 miles.
Ideally located down a quiet country lane in a sleepy hamlet, yet close to Hayle, St Ives and the wonderful beaches and coastline, this most spacious barn conversion offers the ideal accommodation for large or extended families.
As you arrive at Tregatha Farm you immediately sense the peace and tranquillity that surrounds you.
Entering into the hallway of this cleverly designed, upside down cottage you will notice that three of the four bedrooms are downstairs along with the bathroom.
Upstairs is where you will find the twin bedroom, as well as the large open plan kitchen and dining room, and the separate sitting room with French doors leading out on to the delightful balcony, which enjoys views over the valley, a lovely spot to relax at any time of day.
Just half a mile away and a pleasant walk is a traditional village shop offering a bakery with fresh baked goods every day, fresh meat and a delicatessen, off licence and newsagent, all you need on a daily basis.
Also close by is Trevaskis Farm, which offers a farm shop and also a pick-your-own facility but is best known for its excellent farmhouse kitchen restaurant, which enjoys an unrivalled reputation and is a must for food lovers, whether for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Keen fishermen are well catered for with the Tree Meadow Trout Fishery only a mile or so away and set in six acres with fish of exceptional quality.
It is the wonderful sandy beaches of Hayle though that draws so many people to this beautiful area of Cornwall, with three miles of golden sand on the edge of St Ives Bay.
With such a variety of things to do and see, and with the knowledge that you will be returning to a haven of tranquillity at the end of the day, will make this a holiday to remember at any time of the year.

About the location
Hayle 3 miles.
Reawla is a pretty village set among lush green fields, just 4 miles inland from the glorious beaches at Hayle, and the perfect base for exploring the land of Celtic myth and legend that is Cornwall’s far west. Reminders of Cornwall’s tin mining heritage are all around, yet the coast with its rolling surf, miles of sandy beaches, hidden coves and outstanding cliff-top walking is just minutes away. Close too are Penzance, Helston and the quaint fishing harbour and artists’ colony of St Ives, while the imposing presence of St Michael’s Mount with its medieval castle and church, standing off shore in Mount’s Bay will provide a visit to remember. A perfect holiday area.
