• "Great location and comfortable wellmaintained apartment."

  A bit cold on arrival, and we were disappointed with the lack of welcoming provisions (eg toiletries, condiments) in comparison with other rentals we have visited recently. However, this was not our first visit to Bamaluz and we'd certainly come again.

• "We've had a wonderful week - the apartment is fabulous - very clean and beautifully decorated, it's got everything we need and in a great location."

  We've done some great walks and have certainly tested our fitness going up and down the steep paths! We love the Beach Club - great for coffee in the morning before setting off on our walk along the coastal path to St Ives. Have had great meals at The Gannet Inn, Carbis Bay, The Porthminster Beach Café, St Ives and the Harbour Hotel.

• "What a lovely apartment, so beautifully clean and welcoming."

  We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay and both felt very comfortable. We have been very lucky with the weather and enjoyed some spectacular walks along the Coast Path. The highlight of which was the walk from St Ives towards Zennor. It is quite challenging in places but very worth it for the amazing views and sound of the crashing waves. We had lovely meals at both the Gannet Inn and The Beach Club. Thank you for a wonderful stay, we have really enjoyed it and are already planning our return.

  Fantastic weather and area to explore. Got to stop in this wonderful apartment which is beautifully decorated throughout and equipped with everything we needed, We're delighted with how clean the apartment was on arrival - well done to the cleaners for a job well done. • "My wife, our little son and I were in the Bamaluz and we loved our stay!"

  ! The apartment was very new and clean, the balcony had ocean view and despite sleeping with an open window, we heard nothing from the nearby street while sleeping. St. Ives with its bars, restaurants and beaches was just a beautiful coastline track (around 30 minutes) away and the Carbis Bay beach accessible in under 10 minutes - again, after walking down a beautiful valley. We would recommend the Bamaluz to anyone asking and will look to come back to it one day.

• "Beautiful apartment and fantastic location."

  Lovely weather, plenty of walks. The beaches are stunning. Just a short walk to the beach at Carbis Bay. Really handy having beach equipment available in the apartment. St Ives is a nice walk with lovely beaches, shops and restaurants. Suggest walking or catching the train to St Ives. St Michael's Mount is lovely. Becks Fish and Chips - good value. Lovely meal at The Gannet Inn across the road. Tesco a short stroll away. Refreshed, relaxed and looking to return. Thank you!

• "This was the 3rd time staying in Bamaluz, which is a great holiday let, built and equipped to a high standard, and in an ideal location."

  It is well maintained, scrupulously clean, and the bed linen is really good. We found it cold on arrival this time - it took rather a long time to warm up and the heating was not easy to control - but we'd have no hesitation in booking this apartment again.

• "This was our second time staying in Bamaluz, and we expect to visit again soon."

  As frequent visitors to Cornwall we have stayed in various self catering apartments in St Ives, Carbis Bay, Penzance, and Newlyn, and this is the best we have found so far. Comfortable, clean, well maintained, and a great location.

• "Not a lot can be done about this but the apartments don’t appear to have much in the way of soundproofing from above."

  Sounded like a herd of wildebeest up there from time to time. (We are in No 4 this week and it’s the same here.) Having the boiler in a cupboard in the bedroom was annoying. Took me a few nights to get used to it chuntering away. Having said that Bamaluz is a very comfortable apartment. It was exceptionally clean and tidy for our arrival and was a perfect base for walking to St Ives. Well kitted out with good quality fixtures and fittings. Extremely comfortable bed! Parking is good for the area with a space on level ground behind the apartment block. [I’ve ticked ‘Yes’ re publishing feedback but you might wish to edit out my comments about noise. Not much you can do about neighbours or how the architect decided to configure the layout! Would we return to St Margaret’s? I doubt it. As you know we have already had two apartments on Headland Road with you this year. We miss the frontline view.]

• "Really nice apartment."

  We reslly enjoyed our stay at Bamaluz. The only thing that we were disappointed with was the constant noise from the apartment directly above which constantly sounded like a herd of baby elephants stampeding around at all times of the day and night. I realise there is not much that Sykes could do about this but it did take the shine off what was otherwise a really relaxing holiday in a nice apartment. Something the owners could do something about is the bushes to the left of the gate when exiting the property as these obscure the view on what is quite a dangerous bend. Overall, we were a bit apprehensive about our stay after staying at other quality rentals in the area for the last 14 years but we were very pleased with our stay with Sykes and will definitely book again.

• "We have had a lovely holidays here and (luckily) the weather has been fabulous!"

  ! Carbis Bay beach is back to its best now the building work has finished around the hotel. The apartment itself is lovely - comfortable and has everything you need. The walk back up from the beach is something else - definitely a good workout!! We hope to return again soon. Thank you.

• "My family and I had a great time at Carbis and the apartment made it even more of a fantastic stay."

  It was so comfortable for our family of four. It had everything we needed. It was clean and had all the comforts for our stay. The location was perfect and allowed us to travel to St Ives easily when we wanted to go somewhere more busy. We would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone who wants to stay in Cornwall.

• "Nice, relaxing break."

  The apartment is perfect, amazing views, warm, comfortable, and had everything we could of asked for. A stones through from the beach and train to St Ives. Our first time in Cornwall and I think we couldn't of chosen a better place to stay. Thanks.

• "Property was dirty and dusty on arrival considering the late check in time due to deep cleaning."

  Food stuffs from previous guests was found under sofas (popcorn snacks etc) and on floors etc. Cupboard doors were also dirty greasy etc. This really wasn’t as expected having to have a good clean up on arrival. Poor quality TV in lounge different colour bulbs in bedroom cool/warm Simple things could be done to improve stay along with non feather option on pillows for allergy sufferers

  A comfortable & tactfully decorated apartment. Only critique would be the sofa being a little small to accommodate a family. The selection of games to play is a nice touch! Highly recommended Blue Thunder speed boat trip to Seal Island, we were fortunate enough to not only see the seals but a couple of dolphins too!

  We have been to Carbis Bay before and stayed in accommodation provided by Carbis Bay Holidays which is always excellent. Would recommend a trip to St Ives, we walked along the cost path, lovely views. We had a problem with the hot water tank, reported it at 10pm and it was fixed by 2pm the next day. Great response and service by Carbis Bay Holidays.

• "Property is well-equipped and we had no issues checking in or out."

  Generally clean but we found an used shoe insert inside the drawer with the pots and pans under the cooking range top and hair in the bathrooms. Two of the bath towels were not clean - one had patches of dried sticky stuff. Hooks or bars in the bathrooms for towels very much needed. Black out blinds also a must, especially during summer months, it was very bright very early!

• "Extremely lucky with the weather!"

  Glorious sunny week, visited many beaches in the local vicinity...took up paddle boarding which was great fun and can't wait to explore more coves and beauty spots. Discovered a new restaurant to add to our favourites, The Cellar Bistro on main street running through St Ives, fabulous. A beautiful week.

• ""This apartment is wonderful."

  Being brand new it is very modern and everything is finished to a high spec. The decor is lovely and it has a very comfortable feel to it. The apartment had everything we could have wanted and needed. A great location, 10 minutes walk down (a very steep hill) to the carbis bay beach and approx 25 minutes walk into St Ives along the road or coastal path. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone. The only negative is that the description says 'sea views'. These sea views are extremely limited, you can see a little bit of sea because most of the horizon is covered with a line of trees below the apartment. I imagine you do get a sea view in winter when the trees have no leaves. If you go knowing that you will not be disappointed. Everything else was perfect. "
