  • "Absolutely amazing apartment and location."

Couldn't fault it at all. Only downside being there was a very noisy family staying above us, but this wasn't the owners fault. Despite this we would go back and would highly recommend.

  • "Very enjoyable stay in a well furnished spacious apartment."

One criticism however was the fact that no car parking space for No 1 was marked as indicated in the arrival instructions and upon enquiry the space allocated was the smallest space, unsuitable for anything other than a small car. Consequently we used a different unmarked space as no one else was using it.

Thank you very much and we are so pleased that you enjoyed your recent holiday at Godrevy View. We are sorry to hear there was some confusion with regards to the parking space for the property during your stay, I am pleased to advise this has been resolved and the parking information that guests receive has been updated accordingly. We look forward to the opportunity to welcome you back again in the future. Best wishes, The Carbis Bay Holidays Team. Property Owner

    G. whirlpool bath) that were not present and was confusing in places Some slight amendments on the property description on the website - bedrooms are not carpeted for example Other than a couple of the car parking spaces (for other properties) there are no markings to determine which space we should use. Not an issue for the week we were there as it was very quiet but imagine it could cause issues at busier times One final point, although we had no one staying above us, while we were there on a couple of days there was maintenance being done in the apartment above and I would echo previous comments about the amount of noise that comes through the ceiling. I appreciate there is probably little that can be done about this but I expect it would have been quite intrusive if someone had been staying above us while we were there

We thank you very much for your constructive feedback following your stay at Godrevy View. We are happy to hear you were overall very pleased with the property and thank you for bringing some points to our attention. We can assure you that we will look into these closely and are pleased to hear that these points did not impact you too much. We hope to get the opportunity to welcome you back in the future. The bedding and beds were super comfortable. We did hear creaking from people moving around upstairs, but thankfully not in the middle of the night. Considering the price we paid I didn’t expect only 2 loo rolls, washing tablets and dishwasher tablets, I can’t imagine people stealing them if there was more.

The noise upstairs from them just walking around was a bit OTT from squeaky floorboards but arent sure what could be done about this? It could do to be looked into 2. The car parking spaces are NOT clearly marked at all. We guessed which was No. 1 and used it all week. They could do with repainting. Otherwise a very enjoyable stay with everything we needed. Beautiful views. Great location. Super sofa, classy chairs overlooking the bay and the beds were soooo comfy. We have already said we would stay again in the same apartment. Thank you Lisa

The property was just fabulous - very clean, modern, comfortable. Special mentions go to the very comfortable bed, the snazzy kitchen light choices and the lounge seating looking out over the veranda to the horizon. Holiday went too quickly but, having rented Cornish holiday properties for the last 17yrs, we have now found a new favourite bolt-hole; Carbis Bay was a brilliant place to stay.

  • "The little problems started on arrival but nothing that really spoilt our stay."

The parking bays are not numbered as stated. The view from front was obscured by outside stairs up to upper apartment. The back decking area may be a sun trap at certain times of day or perhaps in height of summer but it was tiny and a little claustrophobic The rain shower was a disappointment because it was so weak which left a sideways on hand shower, not ideal. Most irritating the bathroom extractor fan made a lot of noise but didn't actually extract so the room and mirrors completely misted up. Quite a few of the light switches did not work or the bulbs gone. As stated before the mirror in main bedroom not attached and no TV. The kitchen and lounge were the best features. Clean and spacious. It could do with an icecube tray in freezer for drinks. It was nice to be left a pint of milk and biscuits.

  • "Out of principle, I am not rating any of the facilities highly at this property or listing any positives, for reasons below."

Like I said its left a sour taste. Dissapointed in Carbis Bay Holidays aka Sykes. I felt that Carbis Bay holidays, now part of Sykes, did not consider that preparing the outside of the premises for us to use was as important as preparing the inside. When we arrived the inside looked clean and prepped, however overwhelming smell of stale water and disinfectant. We opened the doors and windows and smell soon dispersed. The outside areas had not been prepped or cleaned. Bearing in mind this is the attraction of the apartment front patio with views of the sea and rear private courtyard which gets the morning sun. Garden furniture was filthy, the rear courtyard had seagull mess, that much it was apparent not been cleaned for sometime. It was all over furniture and flooring, the furniture cushions were in a dirty spider infested outside storage box. Furniture covered in cobwebs, spiders, bird mess. We also found the culprit for the stale water smell on arrival the disgusting mop which had definetly seen better days and a bucket full of foul smelling brown water was outside the back patio door. I called up Sykes on the Saturday, day of arrival and asked if any chance of the outside area being jetwashed/furniture cleaned. We appreciated it was Easter weekend so we didnt expect instant action. We cleaned the front patio furniture ourselves so we could use. Tuesday I had a call from company "Carbisco" the chap told me he was Sykes, went on to tell me they had been up at the property on the Saturday prior to our arrival and he thought it wasn't too bad and he had told the owner he didn't think warranted a clean! I told him I was dissapointed, he was adamant no action, and I advised this would be reflected in my review, he said fine. It left a sour taste as when you are spending that amount of money for a week's break then call me old fashioned I don't expect to be doing their cleaning job for them. I am on holiday from life's chores! It might be a good idea to have a hose pipe at the premises as it would make for easy cleaning of outdoor areas and furniture. Seagulls are everywhere, which we are use to as live by the sea ourselves. I didn't like the tone of the chap who called the Tuesday found him dismissive. I was okay with a call on Tuesday with it being Easter, I am a reasonable person, however he felt the need to mention that it had been Easter and to be honest he wasn't sure what day it was. I was made to feel like an inconvenience. However it was unreasonable of them to not to clean and prepare all spaces advertised for us to use.

Thank you for your feedback and taking the time to write a comprehensive response. We do take your comments seriously and at the time we raised your comments to the owner of Godrevy View who decided that the outside areas did not warrant additional cleaning at the time as these areas are managed by the block management company separately on a bi weekly basis. We have asked the housekeeper of the property to ensure that the mop and bucket are cleaned as well as the outside furniture. Unfortunately the Seagulls can create a lot of mess in a very short space of time but we have asked the owner if they can raise to the management company of the commual areas if area can have a weekly hose down during peak season to try and combat the issue of Seagull mess as much as possible. The details we had said a TV in double bedroom and that the bedrooms were carpeted. NO TV and not carpeted. No socket near a mirror in the bedrooms, had to use an extension for the hairdryer. Not enough room to open the wardrobe doors and drawers,.... too close to the bed . "The decked terrace " sit back on the two comfortable reclining rattan chairs " !!!! The decking was filthy, mossy and slippery, the chairs grubby/cobwebs and one of the chairs completely broken and un-useable We did complain on the Saturday and someone did come to clean the decking on Monday morning and a promise of a new /another chair... NO new chair arrived!!! so we could not sit out.. .Lovely bathroom but the shower screen seal was filthy and black grime, and the extension mirror rusty and not cleaned..The kitchen is lovely .Bed linen and towels lovely and clean. Godrevy View accommodation ideal for catching the train into St Ives. Considering we could not occupy the apartment until 5pm to allow for extra cleansing etc ( Covid ) I am surprised that more care was not taken with the cleaning..We love Carbis bay and the surrounding areas but we would not stay stay at this accommodation again.

It is a lovely apartment with a beautiful seaview, it is a shame that the dining room is at the back without a view, it would be good to have stools in the kitchen for breakfast. We did enjoy a few meals outside on the terrace, but sadly the weather was very changeable! The kitchen is amazing, well fitted out with most things, sadly there were chipped plates, only 4 dinner plates with 3 of them chipped, more are needed. The local walking is challenging, okay if you are fit! We enjoyed a lovely meal at La Casita in Carbis Bay, good to be able to walk there. It was good to use the train fo St Ives.

Dear Linda, Firstly we would like to thank you for taking the time to submit feedback regarding your recent stay at Godrevy View. • ""We really enjoyed our stay at Godrevy View."

It is a lovely apartment, very spacious and modern and in a great quiet position with lovely views and not too far from the station - or up the hill. Walked into St Ives and got the train back then walked both ways - came back in the dark - and it really was dark - so should have taken a torch. The train is great and only £1.00 each way - only one stop. We visited a lot of places including Gwithian Beach, Hells Mouth, Port Isaac, St Nectans Glen, St Michaels Mount, The Lizard, Perranporth, Sennen Cover, Porthcurno, Cape Cornwall, Kynance Cove and Porthleven - all in a week! We needed to get home for a rest! We came to Cornwall in June for our first holiday there - and loved it so much that we came to Godrevy View in September and have already booked to come back to Carbis Bay in July and September next year. Booking with Carbis Bay Holidays was very easy - so easy in fact that one of next year's bookings are with them. The only reason for giving the apartment four stars rather than five is that we could hear the people in the apartment walking around which made their floor creak. They were not noisy people - just up until 2am - they couldn't help the creaky floor. It wouldn't put me off booking the apartment again."

  • ""The apartment is tucked away and quiet, removed from all noise and in a beautiful neighbourhood with lush hydrangea blooms on every corner."

You can take the train from London Paddington station to St Erth station and switch to the local train that heads to St. Ives, disembarking at the Carbis Bay stop. It is only a four minute walk to the Carbis Bay train station, and a slightly more energetic 10 minute uphill walk to ‘Costcutters’ for groceries, or if you're physically fit and don't mind carrying your groceries a bit more of a distance, then the ‘Tesco’ Superstore is about a 20 minute walk. We love the exercise and did it often. If you can't manage the climb, you can take the train to St Ives and get groceries at the ‘Co-op’ store along the route into the town centre. And if you have a car, then you have no worries at all. Possibly one of the biggest attractions of this apartment is its convenient location to the coastal path. We walked it in both directions to see Porth Kidney sands, Porthminster Beach, Carbis Bay beach and often all the way into St. Ives. The Carbis Bay beach is only a 10-minute walk down to the sands from the apartment. These walks are incredibly scenic and the sense of being so close to nature is amazing. Coming back up from the beach or at places along the path requires a certain degree of physical fitness (I am very *unfit*, and yet I managed it and loved it). However, for people with disabilities, these walks will be more difficult so I advise use of the train which gives beautiful views of the ocean and beaches. Also, a point of great joy for us: the neighbours have a lovely, super-friendly little black cat named Sooty, who will come to you for cuddles and treats but otherwise not bother you in any way. So adorable! And finally, the entire experience was so enjoyable. Carbis Bay Holidays made communication so easy, and they were entirely trustworthy and reliable throughout, which reduces the anxiety of booking an unfamiliar place from a foreign country. I would highly recommend this company and this apartment. We would love to return! "

It had a fantastic view and was finished to a high standard. The communication we received was very convenient and we loved all the little touches like the welcoming cream tea in the fridge or the information pack and bag to take home. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the apartment was full of everything you could need for the week and more! We walked along the coastal path in both directions ending up in St Ives and Lelant Saltings. The views were breathtaking on both and although the walks were quite tiring they were well worth doing. We visited Casa Romano twice during our week which is a beautiful Italian restaurant within walking distance of the apartment, the food was fantastic. One of our favourite attractions was the National Maritime Museum in Falmouth. It was such a good afternoon out even for someone who is not particularly interested in boats. There are so many interesting exhibits and things for you to interact with that it was well worth the £11 admission cost! Great if it is a bit wet outside too!! Thanks for such a great experience!" St Ives was a beautiful little town and the fish and chips and ice creams were excellent.
