  • "We loved our stay here, the apartment has everything you could need and Carbis Bay is beautiful."

The only thing I’d change is better blinds in the bedrooms that block out more of the sunlight. I’d definitely come back to this apartment in future.

Thank you for your feedback, we are glad to hear you had a lovely stay, we will be sure to pass your suggestions onto the owner for their consideration. We hope to welcome you back to Carbis Bay Holidays again in the future. Kind regards The Carbis Bay Holidays Team. Property Owner

  • "Overall we really enjoyed our stay at Halcyon."

The location is great being right by the train station which helps to get in and out of St Ives if you don’t fancy the walk. Being close to Carbis Bay Hotel, the restaurants and the beach is great, the view from the property is amazing directly out to the sea and over to Godrevy Beach. We would definitely come back. However, there are improvements that can be made by the management team… first of all we went at the end of February, it was still very cold, yet the heating hadn’t been on and it was very cold in the apartment, it took 24 hours for it to heat up. Secondly, there was sand under the rug in the lounge, and the sinks were dirty, the apartment clearly hadn’t been cleaned and prepared properly. And lastly there was no welcome pack, loo roll or basic amenities upon arrival which was just poor. These can all be solved with a little more care and attention to detail, but it doesn’t leave a good impression that you look after the properties properly.

Thank you for your feedback. We are thrilled that you loved the position of the property and the views. We were sorry to hear that you found a couple of issues, but are pleased that we were able to attend and resolve the areas that were reported to us during your stay. We would always like the opportunity to rectify any points so please contact one of the local team on 01736 630015 and we will be able to assist straight away. Thank you again for your comments and we hope to welcome you back in the future. Kinds Regards, The Carbis Bay Holidays Team Property Owner

  • "Our stay at Halcyon Cove has been perfect."

The apartment was very clean, bright and spacious. It was lovely to arrive to milk and juice in the fridge and a packet of biscuits along with a welcome pack. Very thoughtful. The views are amazing and it was lovely to sit on the terrace and watch the boats go by, as well as searching for dolphins. Halcyon cove is about a 3 minute walk to the train station which is about a 4 minute ride into St Ives. It’s is also perfectly situated to use as a base to see visit many of the beautiful areas around south Cornwall. We particularly loved, Godrevy, where we saw loads of seals on the beach, The Minack Theatre, and Kynance Cove. Porthmoer beach cafe does the best breakfast ever and is a perfect spot to sit and watch the surfers. If I had to pick any faults with my stay it would be that I found the bed very hard and the invisible glass table caught me out (thankfully it is made of toughed glass) so we had to move it. That said, it would not put me off returning to this beautiful apartment and we are already looking at booking again next year.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us feedback and comments following your stay at Halcyon Cove. We are thrilled to hear you had a perfect stay and would like book again next year. We are sorry you have found one bed in the property too hard. Unfortunately the firmness of mattresses is difficult to get right for everyone as this is very much down to personal preference. We thank you again for your lovely feedback and are looking forward to welcome you back in the future. With Kind Regards, The Carbis Bay Holidays Team Property Owner

  • "Lovely apartment, well fitted out."

The only downside was there was no recycling facilities onsite. The home guide advised it was at a local leisure centre but there were only commercial bins when we got there so had to drive around to get rid of it

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us your feedback. We are pleased to hear you liked the apartment. We are sorry that you were not able to recycle your waste at the local leisure center and thank you for bringing this to our attention as we were not aware they are only taking commercial waste now. We will update the information in the Quick Start Guide in the property and look into offering guests other recycling options on- or offsite. We hope to get the opportunity to welcome you back in the future. With Kind Regards, The Carbis Bay Holidays Team Property Owner

  • "We absolutely loved Halcyon cove."

There were however just a couple of points we would like to mention. The mattress (king size) was very hard and uncomfortable. I appreciate a firm mattress myself, but it was actually a little uncomfortable it was so hard. We found a lot of hairs (blonde - none of us are blonde!), mostly in the living area around the sofa and around the rug. I'm unsure if the sofa/rug was hoovered but this wasn't great. The high chair had not been cleaned and was full of dried up food so we had to clean it before putting our baby in it. The only other thing was the advert stated Sky was in the bedrooms but we could not get sky in the king bedroom at all. We had to re-tune the TV and managed to get free view channels as they were not working either on arrival. Despite the above, for a 2 week holiday it was wonderful and we would give the property 4.5/5. We absolutely loved the open plan living, utility room and just the amount of space we had was wonderful.

Thank you for your feedback, we are very pleased you loved the property. We are saddened to hear that some of the areas were not up to standard for you, we have passed these on to the correct departments to ensure that these areas are looked into. Thank you again for your comments and we look forward to the opportunity to welcome you back in the future. Kinds Regards, The Carbis Bay Holidays Team Property Owner

  • "Absolutely lovely apartment."

Very clean and very well equipped. Superb views and stunning location. We had a fantastic time staying in this apartment. The only thing and its probably more of a local council issue was the lack of recycling bins/points at or near the apartment. Even the Tesco Superstore nearby had no facility to recycle which was a shame as we had quite alot of recycling that we had to put in the single bin at the property. We seen other properties nearby seemed to have recycling put outside with bins but there seemed no facilities to do this at the apartment. If there was a possibility to have two bins per property, one being for recycling this wouid be great. This aside we would have no hesitation in staying at this beautiful apartment again. It really was a truely lovely stay. Thanks for a great holiday ! Nick and Siobhan

Dear Nick & Siobhan Thank you for your great feedback. We are delighted to hear you had a truely lovely stay! Halcyon Cove is a fantastic apartment. • "I'm not going to lie there were some issues when we first arrived, the main one was the missing sofa."

So we called the agents and they sent the 'A Team' round and within 1 hour everything was resolved. In my opinion its not how you make mistakes it's how you resolve them and the team were amazing. Minor things: The balcony views are stunning but it can be a bit cold/windy out there as it is shaded. Wifi/phone signal was not great luckily I took a WiFi extender and as there are only doors in the bedrooms on the ground floor we couldnt open them to cool down due to security on a night. All that said book this apartment it's luxurious and has a good degree of privacy even on the balcony. We really enjoyed our holiday and with Carbis and the train to St ives on our door step it was very convenient. The coastal path to St ives was also a great scenic walk. We will definitely book again in the future.

Dear Mr Johnson, thank you for your Feedback following your recent stay at Halcyon cove. Firstly, may I apologies for the issues you experienced when you arrived at the property but I’m very pleased that the “A Team” was able to sort these for you. Thank you also for your additional comments we will look into resolving these. We are so pleased to hear you found the apartment to be luxurious and appreciated it’s location within Carbis Bay. Dear Mr Fouracre, We appreciate you taking the time to submit your feedback. The arrival and departure time is up for review but we felt that it gave our housekeepers the best opportunity in making sure the properties were 'covid safe' during the pandemic, but please be assured, we are listening to our guest feedback and constantly reviewing the times. • "We were very disappointed with the cleanliness of the bathrooms, bedroom surfaces and kitchen utensils."

The sofa is grubby and the arms upholstery is very tired. On departure when we stripped the beds one of the single beds mattress protector was very unpleasant. Although we tried to call both carbis and Sykes offices to report these issues the phones continually cut us off. We had to go to the office on the first morning of our holiday to report these issues but do not think they were resolved satisfactorily. The Welcome cream tea no longer exists and a voucher for £4 to spend in St Ives as it’s alternative is not in our opinion an equivalent option for 4 people. As we had previously stayed in this apartment we were aware of the day guest passes for the Spa at the Carbis Bay Hotel that were offered to guests in this apartment. We found the voucher readily available again in the Information folder so were very surprised to find that it is no longer applicable. There was no assistance nor compromise over this issue which we find to be gross misrepresentation. We were only told that it was the housekeeper’s fault for not removing it. As you can imagine we do not think that the level of service is up to our expectations based on the previous visit nor is relative to the cost charged. We feel further consideration of these issues is required.

Thank you very much for your feedback, we are very sorry for the issues you encountered during your stay. The cleaning items you have mentioned have been forwarded to the housekeeper to ensure they are rectified and special attention are paid to. In reference to the cream tea, I am afraid that due to Covid-19 we cannot have the normal 165 cream teas delivered to the office for collection as it creates too much cross contact and therefore we had to find another way to work round the issue. With Ferrells bakery sadly closing, we will now be providing biscuits for arrivals instead going forward. The Spa Passes are renewed annually with Carbis Bay Hotel, however I am afraid that Carbis Bay Hotel wish to be more exculsive and have therefore said owners cannot renew their memberships for properties which is why we have not been able to extend them. We hope you had a wonderful time with your family and a well earnt rest, Kind regards, The Carbis Bay Holidays Team Property Owner

  • "The apartment was not very clean and we did not have any tumbler glasses, we had ..."

The apartment was not very clean and we did not have any tumbler glasses, we had 3 mis matched wine glasses and had to ask for some Champagne glasses, I was worried about the extractor fan in the en suite bathroom, it was full of fluff and dust, the cooker extractor was filthy, I have taken some photos and will send them to you

Dear Mrs Young, Firstly, we would like to thank you for taking the time to submit your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you found mismatched glasses in the property; as soon as your brought this to our attention, we followed up on the delivery of the new ones, in which were delivered to you as soon as we had them. In regard to the extractors; due to your early check in request due to your train times, the housekeeper was unable to check the property following the cleaners departure. The priority on this occasion was to allow you early entry as they didn't want to cause any inconvenience. Had the housekeeper had more time, we hope they would have been able to rectify these issues before your arrival. We sincerely hope you enjoyed your stay and hope to invite you back in the future. • "A beautiful holiday apartment, spacious, comfortable, clean, really well appointed and wonderful views."

We really enjoyed our stay and although it was more expensive than an equivalent holiday in France or Spain, we though it a really lovely place. So much so that we looked at booking the same week for next summer, only to discover that it would cost an extra £800, which even in the present climate does not feel justifiable.

Dear Ms Whittaker, Firstly, we would like to thank you for taking the time to submit your feedback. Sounds like you thoroughly enjoyed your stay and we hope to invite you back in the future. There has been a huge demand for staycations this year and for 2022, which has increased prices in line with other letting agencies throughout the country. Prices also vary in line with the way school holiday weeks fall, and are also subject to annual price reviews. We would like to reassure you that the prices for 2022 are all monitored very closely and priced with seasonal variance and demand to establish the right balance. • "The location and apartment were absolutely fantastic!"

This apartment was just a couple of mins walk to the train station to St Ives and 5mins from the beach (downhill....a bit longer uphill!). I honestly don't think it could have been more perfectly located. The bedrooms were great if you had young children as you can leave the doors open to hear them. The balcony opened to a fantastic view of the ocean and lighthouse, that I wasn't expecting and was far bigger than I thought. I loved that this apartment had everything that we needed in terms of things for the kitchen; lots of glasses, cups, plates and cooking utensils, pots and pans. The child cot was very good quality, sturdy and better than our one at home. Some minor suggestions (feel free not to publish) - perhaps move the sofa a bit closer to the TV to give more room in the kitchen area, which could get a bit tight - let people know you have plastic cups and plates for kids - a big plus to not have to bring them All in all we loved this stay. Feel free to edit and use the above feedback.

Loved waking up to the view. We had good weather, at times windy but didn't have the rain the rest of the country had. Lovely apartment, well furnished and comfortable. Would definitely book again.
