  • "Comfy bed, location is outstanding but the pillows didn’t pass the arm test (to soggy) so brought two from Asda on the Sunday of our holiday."

Better instructions needed for key safe location, ie past the outside bin store up the path to bin store before the steps. No instructions as to what to do on departure with bedding & towels (we stripped the bed) then left it all folded with the towels on the bed. Still had a great time & would return if available next year.

Thank you for your feedback, we are pleased to hear you enjoyed the location and would return next year. We will be sure to pass on your comments, with regards to the towels and bedding you are not required to strip these. We are glad you had a great time and we hope we have the opportunity to welcome you back again in the future. Kind Regards, The Carbis Bay Holidays Team. Property Owner

But this is one of those occasions. A lovely well equipped property overlooking a lovely view of the sea and so close to the beach and the railway station, so convenient for our trips into St Ives. Thank you.

  • "This place was amazing!"

It had absolutely everything we needed, it was lovely and clean, contemporary, and had the most amazing view. Our only slightly negative piece of feedback was that one of the twin beds was extremely creaky and could benefit from a bit of attention. Otherwise, we had the most amazing time in this beautiful place and would definitely come back.

Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback! We will pass on your comment with regards to the twin beds to investigate if this can be rectified. We are hoping to get the opportunity to welcome you back soon! With Kind Regards, The Carbis Bay Holidays Team Property Owner

Was a lovely clean and very spacious apartment we kept getting lost lol we loved everything about the apartment and all the added extras that were there especially the milk in the fridge and biscuits we found on arrival which was much needed after our long journey. We loved the binoculars that we used to watch for seals in the bay. Everything we needed was there we couldn’t have asked for anything else. The views from this apartment are out of this world it’s literally a 3 minute beautiful train journey into st ives which is highly recommended with the most stunning beaches and many cafes and cobbled streets full of pubs and restaurants. With beautiful hidden gems every corner you turn. We will definitely be coming back to North Shore Next year

  • "The property is in a great location."

The views were beautiful. However the apartment needs some TLC and new sofas. The travel cot supplied in the apartment was filthy. Not fit for purpose. Luckily we arrived a couple of days before my daughter and 9 month old grandson and after erecting the travel cot we were able to contact her and advise here that she needed to bring her own travel cot. Fortunately she had room in her car. Someone needs to take responsibility for checking the equipment on a regular basis.

Thank you very much for taking the time to leave Feedback following your recent holiday at North Shore and I am so sorry to hear the travel cot was not clean, we have passed your comment to the Housekeeper that looks after the property for their attention. For future reference, if you are staying at one of our properties and have any concerns please do not hesitate to call our local office on 01736 630015 and we can attend to any issues you may have. Larger sofa not very comfortable as it is saggy, toaster only works if you hold it down and sink in en suite is slow to drain. The carpets throughout need a deep clean as there are a few marks in places. None of the above spoilt our break. The views and location are excellent

Thank you very much for leaving Feedback following your recent stay at North Shore and we are so pleased you enjoyed the lovely views across the Bay from the apartment. • "Unfortunately we weren’t terribly impressed with this apartment."

We would not stay here again unless a lot of work is done to improve it. The large sofa in the lounge is very uncomfortable and saggy and needs replacing. Although SKY t.v offered we couldn’t find it. The You View box seemed difficult to navigate although we have one at home. A good-sized room though with wonderful views. The main bedroom is very cramped, with the wardrobe too near the bed and the overhanging cupboards too easy to hit when accessing the bedside table if tall. The en-suite shower room is also very small and water pressure poor. Cracked mirror and slow drainage of sink, which seems to be a recurring problem looking back at other comments. When we stripped the bed on leaving we found the duvet stained. The main bathroom is a very good size, with an excellent mirror over sink and plenty of shelving. However, we found the old-fashioned mixer-type shower in bath difficult to use and control as water pressure erratic, and both showers couldn’t be used at same time. The radiator in dining room (and hallway) rusty and there seemed to be a bit of damp on outside wall. A good size room though with a nice table and chairs, crockery and glasses. In the kitchen, the toaster only worked if lever held down and under-cupboard lights didn’t work, both of these we mentioned in the ‘Fix Me’ book, We thought the carpets were terribly stained and grubby. Also, although a non-smoking apartment it was obvious a smoker had used it. The en-suite and bedroom were particularly bad. The garage problem has been well-documented but we did manage to get our VW T-Roc in, although you need to be pretty mobile to get out! These apartments are in the perfect location and are priced to reflect this, but we feel the general standard of this particular apartment needs to improve to justify the cost.

Thank you very much for your comprehensive Feedback following your recent stay at North Shore and we are extremely sorry to hear that you were not impressed with the property. We have passed your comments on to the property owner plus our Property and Housekeeping teams for their attention. With regards to the garage parking provided for guests staying at North Shore, we are pleased that you were able to make use of this during your stay but as we are aware that it is not suitable for all vehicles, the dimensions for the garage are provided on the property’s webpage to enable potential guests to determine if it will be suitable for their vehicle before making a booking. Additional parking is also available in one of 3 visitor bays at the Compass Point development on a first come first served basis. Thank you again for taking the time to leave your comments. • "I;ve left a few comments in the Owner's "Fix Me" book at North Shore."

These include:- 1 Better instructions on the directions to locate the key safe box and the bin store in which the key box resides. 2 Review and update the North Shore Quick Quide book and instructions in relation to - operation of the central heating system - and - leaving day procedure which is unclear on used bedding and towels and conflicting info on return of keys procedure. 3 I visited alone ao only used a few of the rooms and facilities at North Shore but I would note that the property would benefit from a poper mixer shower in the main bathroom rather than the "old fashioned" fussy shower fed from the bath mixer taps. 4 I was aware of the lack of geberalparking at Compass Point from previous visits and the allocated garage parking for North Shore in particular so I left my car at home and travelled by public transport. I think that the really limited parking provision for North Shore and at Compass Point generally needs to be given a greater highlight in the property description of the CBH website and brouchure All in all a great apartment for a single or couple who are prepared to comprimise on immediate access to car parking both within the Compass Point complex and at the adjacent railway station £5 a day car park as it could be a frustrating need to use the Cornwall Council Porthrepta car park or the Saint Anta church car park £4 a day both located some distance away on Porthrepta Road

Dear Mr Whetter, thank you for taking the time to leave Feedback and comments following your stay at North Shore and we do hope you enjoyed another good stay with us in Carbis Bay. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, we will amend the directive to ensure future guests staying at North Shore do not experience any similar issues. We will also check the Quick Start Guide and update this as required and pass on your comments regarding the shower to the property Owners for their consideration. What a good idea to leave your car at home and travel to Cornwall by train, the Compass Point development is in a great location to facilitate this. • "Apartment and some crockery not clean."

Found three long black hairs in bathroom. Sink in en suite completely blocked and shower leaking water on floor. Also below at station workmen started at 0730 making lots of noise. We should have been warned about that. Normally people would get a discount if the is work nearby. Fingers prints all over wardrobe doors. Pizza cutter full of congealed pizza and cheese. Two handfuls of crumbs under toaster upon arrival. So sad! We have been with Carbis bay holidays 4 times now and this times it has been very disappointing re appartement. We certainly won’t book again especially with the prices having gone up by a third. Luckily we booked early and payed the old price. We are pensioners and can’t afford this anymore. Another long term problem with this apartment is the parking. The garage won’t do for any modern car. There are 3 visitor spaces which are always full and the car park at the station mostly full too. Limited parking because of all the works going on there. This apartment needs a proper parking space!!

  • "Well equipped and comfortable apartment."

Two critical comments :- 1, The basin in the en-suite bathroom needed attention. It drained exceptionally slowly. 2, Parking can be frustrating and should be acknowledged in your listings. The garage is too tight for many modern cars. There are too few visitors spaces and they tend to be occupied for the duration. Payment systems in the alternative, station car park do not always work.

Dear Mr Little, Thank you for taking the time to get you feedback to us. We will pass on the point you raised about the sink to the housekeeper to look at on changeover. In regard to the parking, we apologise that you found the parking restricted. To avoid disappointment, we do include the measurements on the property listing along with it being included in the Key Collection which you received approximately 1 week before your stay. • "The apartment was not cleaned to a good enough standard, let alone in covid times."

Biscuit crumbs in the windowsill, leftover food behind the bedroom doors, the placemats in the dining room were disgusting. The lamps didn’t work, several comments about this in the guest book, so we spoke to Caribs Bay holidays to inform them of this and we got replacement bulbs. The owner commented on this, so not sure why he didn’t resolve a simple issue. The shower in the en-suite was tiny. The garage should be advertised that it doesn’t fit a standard car in it, we would have never booked had we known this. The cars in the visitor parking didn’t move the whole week, so we either had to climb out the top of the car when using the garage, or have the additional cost of paying to park the car. We chose Carbis Bay instead of St Ives, as we thought we could park earlier. The sink in en suite was gross. The keys were not left in the lock box at 5pm, so we couldn’t get into the apartment and had to chase this.

Dear Chris, Thank you for taking the time to leave Feedback following your recent stay at North Shore, this is very much appreciated. I am very sorry to hear the property did not reach our usual standard of cleanliness, I have highlighted these with the Housekeeper at North Shore for their attention. I am also sorry to hear you had problems using the garage provided with the property and note that the dimensions for this are stated on the website, this is something that we always ensure is available where a parking space may be smaller than average so a guest is aware of this at the time of booking. We have a Ford Kuga and unfortunately were unable to use the garage but mainly managed to get a visitors space. It was great to have some milk, tea, coffee, local apple juice and chocolate plus the bag on arrival, a lovely touch. I would say the only issue which wasn't too much of an issue was the wi-fi is very slow, it would have been nice if it were better. We would definitely recommend and return.

  • "We had a lovely stay in Northshore (even with G7 summit disruption!"

). The property is perfectly located right near the beach and train station (which is not noisy, or particularly visible at all), and we were treated to beautiful sunsets over the bay each night. The property is large and well appointed. It was a little confusing locating the key safe when we arrived, but we did manage to find it eventually once we got our bearings. It is a shame this particular apartment doesn't have a reserved parking space like several of the others, and though I did fit my Seat Leon estate in the garage one evening, it was extremely tight! There are some visitor spaces available to use which we managed to get most days, but these do fill up. Overall I would certainly return and would be happy to recommend Northshore.

Dear Mr Murden, We are delighted to hear that you hand a wonderful stay, and hopefully got a glimpse of some VIP's during your stay. The key collection details have been looked at to confirm they are accurate and correct.
