  • "The flat matched the description, the location is perfect for exploring the local area and the view was great."

    It’s spacious and well furnished plus having Sky+ was a bonus. The kitchen is well equipped and the parking was very convenient. The gas boiler had a fault but Carbis Bay holidays sent someone to fix it within the hour which was impressive! The only negatives are the mattresses are not the most comfortable and the curtains in the master bedroom don’t block the light from the exterior lighting. Still overall a very nice place to stay in Carbis Bay.

  • "A few things went wrong and we had no local contact telephone numbers or email."

    The only telephone number on the website was a national number for Sykes. We had to leave a hand written list on our departure which hopefully will be passed on to the relevant person.

  • "No Wi-Fi hence no e of the associated services depending on Wi-Fi."

    The issue was already known by the previous person staying as written in the guest log book from the week before where they had taken same steps as us and got the same reply. Which suggests that this was a known issue prior to our stay. Nobody informed us prior to the stay that there would not be any internet connection and it did affect our ability to work substantially. We were not offered any form of compensation or a work around despite our having raised it early on. Otherwise great views and lovely flat!

  • "The DVD player, Ipod dock and outdoor seat cushions were not there."

    These are listed on the website and in the apartment's instructions. We brought a number of DVD's to watch, but couldn't. There were no instructions that we could find for the appliances or central heating. We couldn't get the under cupboard lights to work in the kitchen. The shower in the bathroom continues to run when the bath is being filled. The lights in the en-suite are inadequate. and the shower door does not close fully. The bin store door lock is difficult to open (This was reported at the time but nothing happened). There was no local information: Train times, local amenities, restaurants etc.

The instructions for the central heating system and appliances are located in the “Quick Start Guide” in the property, we will ensure that this is put out in a clear place in the future. The DVD is utilized through the Wii mode which you can select using the “source” button, and we will check on the next change over to make sure the other items are still present and speak with the owner’s if they are no longer present to update the description. I have highlighted the under cupboard lights in the kitchen; the shower which continually runs when the bath is filled and the shower door that does not fully close to the owner as we can action these repair so thank you for bringing these to our attention. The bin store key and lock may need some WD40 so we will see if this is the issue. Unfortunately, we removed lots of brochures etc from the property as we are trying to reduce contact following Covid-19.   • "The apartment was very comfortable with good facilities ."

    The cleaning was not of a good standard there was dust and hairs on a lot of surfaces the shower wasn't very clean. We spoke to the man who was cleaning the apartment and he told us he had 16 apartments to clean that day which would explain why it wasn't very clean. I felt like the money we paid for the apartment would have included an amount for the cleaning of the apartment and so we paid for something that didn't happen. We have always previously used Aspects holidays and never had a problem with the apartment being dirty this was our first time with Carbis holidays and was a little disappointed

    I am sure you have heard it many times before but the biggest factors, the fantastic view of the St Ives headland, the space in the apartment and the great fittings make this an excellent place! The kitchen holds all the utensils and appliances necessary to cater for oneself and the apartment’s security and quite peace sets it apart. We had a fantastic meal at 15 on Watergate Bay and also a great lunch on the terrace at the Porthmeor Hotel now called St Ives Harbour Hotel. Both are highly recommended.     The apartment is of an exceptionally high standard with fixtures and fittings of a very high quality iindeed. The location was great with the little railway line to St Ives, the beach and the south west coast peninsular path all within a few minutes. We didn't really bother to use the car during our week as we prefer a central location with good walks from the door and public transport nearby. We also enjoyed the luxury of the flat, the views, the lovely sofas and all the comforts of home - and more! We loved the games compendium and that helped on wet days. We did the coastal walk to Lelant then were lucky enough to be just in time (after a good pub lunch at the Badger) to catch the open top bus back to St Ives and then finish our circular walk back to Carbis Bay.We had a memorable evening at the Porthminster Cafe." St Ives 2 miles ; Hayle 3.5 miles ; Penzance 8.5 miles

Just a short drive from iconic St Ives, the seaside village of Carbis Bay is best-known for its beautiful stretch of pure white sand. With turquoise waters and sheltered conditions, the beach feels almost subtropical and is the perfect spot for a good old-fashioned day by the sea. The beach is also home to the Ocean Sports Centre, so if sunbathing is not really your thing, why not hire a kayak or SUP and get out on the water instead. Or why not treat yourself to a Spa day at the delightful hotel which overlooks the beach and has a fabulous terrace where cocktails can be enjoyed in the Cornish sunshine? Carbis Bay has a small range of local shops and restaurants as well as a fish & chip takeaway and railway branch line. The train journey from Carbis Bay into St Ives is perhaps one of the most beautiful in the country; St Ives additionally makes for a great day out, with plenty of galleries to explore.
