"Loved our stay in Sunrise especially good if taking dogs."
Accommodation was very comfortable but was lacking a Tin opener / bottle opener and a collinder as had to use a pen knife to open a can so quite dangerous and the collinder would of just been useful.Would definately stay in this accommodation again as also not too far to walk into St Ives and not far from Bus stop either.

"Upon our arrival at Sunrise, it quickly became obvious that the flat wasn't quite as splendid as your web page photos suggested."
The bathroom is in need of a complete refit, and the carpet laid in the main living areas is cheap and seemingly without underlay, not to mention it could do with a good clean. There is black mould along the back of the kitchen sink and the hob was dirty and greasy and around the edge of the hob was filthy. The oven had been left with fat splatter on the inside of the glass door and inside the oven was a dirty roasting tray still with fat in it from when it was last used. The kitchen cupboard doors are grubby and also the side of the breakfast bar facing the living room is also in need of a good clean, and the sofa had dog hairs on it. The plug socket by the TV sometimes sparked when switched on or off, and there were none of the usual stickers on the electrical appliances to say when they were last PAT tested. One point of note, is the fairly slap dash approach to way the flat has been decorated. The key safe proofed to be a problem sometimes as well. We have stayed in several holiday rentals over years, and the standard is usually very high, but this is the first time we booked through Sykes and have no other Sykes properties to gauge this one by. On the good side, the bed was very comfortable and the weather was great, which meant we were out all day and only had to spend the evenings/nights there.
Dear Mark, thank you for your feedback. It's a shame you didn't contact housekeeping, or Sykes or myself as I'm sure we could have resolved some of the issues highlighted. I have spoken with housekeeping and ensured all standards are upheld and will be in future. I must respond to your comment regarding PAT testing of the electrical appliances though. All the electrical appliances were purchased brand new in July last year so are not due to be PAT tested until they are at least two years old just to put your mind at rest. With regards to the carpet, the flat is advertised as pet friendly and the floor covering is due to be replaced after the summer this year with something more appropriate. "The only suggesting would be that you put a king bed in the double room."
We are not big people but we were a bit squashed. It was lovely to have some of the essentials when we arrived.

Great location - 10 mins walk to the wonderful Carbis Bay Beach…nice to have a drink at the hotel watching the sunset.

"This is our opinion on our stay at sunrise."
First of all it was lovely and clean.no dust on top of fridge as others have said.we were welcomed with milk, tea, coffee, even sugar until we got our own.oh and biscuits.fresh bedding comfy bed. We took our grandson who is 11 he loved his room to stay in, again fresh bedding and cozy he said ..we went through the folder in the cupboard by the t.v.we could not find the wi fi password.or information for that so I called the owner myself on the monday he told us where to find it and that someone must have removed the information that was there. No problem got it sorted out everything was clean and useable. We did not look for faults in sunrise ...it was good to come back to after a day out and chill..with a cuppa. Now I'm disabled and have cancer...but the only one thing I mentioned was the hot tap in the kitchen runs very slow and takes time.but it was useable. Again if your looking for faults and you want a five star or more place then look else where. But our stay was good it may not be to others taste....but it was clean...I had trouble getting into the shower but I got help the stairs was another feat but managed.it was good for me as it was on one level. I left a 3 page letter to the owner and chocolates. I hope you read my letter and enjoy those chocolates. A lovely weeks break away.....MRS.A.PRICE.

We found dirt in every area as per a previous guest the overall standard is very very poor , hair in plugholes, old chips in the oven , our feet were black from the carpets I could go on and on
It is just not somewhere you would want to take a holiday it has the appearance of a council block of flats and is not in a fit state to be let out
It is in no way 4 star /ticks it is one at most and is massively over priced
The fridge broke whilst we were there and despite raising a claim and sending evidence of additional food purchases and meals out due to having no appliance the owner is not reimbursing this cost
This was literally the worst holiday we have ever experienced and had we not lived so far away in the North we would have simply come home

The bathroom was not up to standard in our opinion overall the whole property would look better advertised as a council flat.
We would never stay here again
In response to your review of Sunrise, it was noted that during your stay you did not at any time contact Sykes, the housekeeper or the owners to communicate your dissatisfaction with the condition of the property. Because of this there was no opportunity offered to try to rectify or address any of your concerns. Whether it was the accuracy of the marketing of the property by Sykes or the quality of the fixtures and fittings ie the furniture or the cleanliness etc, if you had genuine concerns I would have expected that this would have been relayed earlier in your stay. I believe the photos are a genuine representation of the quality of the accommodation and as a point in fact, all the furniture, beds and appliances including the TV are brand new. We feel the feedback isn't fair as the kitchen and bathroom are clearly represented in the photos. Property Owner
