    ... Location- if you need accomodation close to St Austell then perfect, but (like us) base to explore Cornwall not ideal. I think stay around Truro will be better. One big minus NO barbeque at property...it's a lot of space but still not allowed, so during summer while love sitting outside and make nice steak - not for you. Beds & bed linen 5 stars. Living room, sofas & space 5 stars. Kitchen -4.5 stars. Bathroom/ shower & toilet 4.5 stars. Parking - a lot off spaces 5 stars. Wi-Fi: very poor , one evening doesn't work. Also networks such as 3 , EE , O2 not great signal... Location - to be honest we feel like on the middle of nowhere but we didn't check local shops/places.... so can't evaluate. In general size of property (we stay up to 8 people) very good, extra toilet wil be nice...

  • "Nothing really to complain about."

    Stayed in the Linney a few times previously under previous owner, this was first time in the Kilns. The only negatives I have is that the ensuite downstairs there seemed to be no hot water to the basin and the poor water pressure in the shower of the ensuing. Otherwise we love the property .

  • "Property was wonderful, catering for all our needs, nice touches with additions to start you off on arrival, tea, coffee, loo roll, bin bags etc; Only one concern was security of the property, with a very forward 4 year old able to open the outside door very easily, also the downstairs doors don’t close properly, there are gaps between closing points."

    Apart from these few points the stay and facilities were excellent.

  • "Exactly as described, easily big enough for 4 adults and 3 teenagers."

    Tea coffee milk bread and butter supplied when we arrived and Andy came to check we had everything we need too. Would definitely recommend for a family holiday.

  • "The cottage was beautiful, well equipped, spacious and spotless."

    The location was perfect. However, the one star for comfort is based on the EXTREMELY hard beds. Every single bed was far too firm and all 8 of us found our nights very uncomfortable. The eldest member of our party, who suffers from osteoarthritis left the cottage a day early because she could not bear another night. It could be argued that the preference of the firmness of a bed is individual, but somewhere in the middle between soft and firm would surely cater for all. The Kilns in every other respect was an excellent property.

    We really appreciate your positive comments and enjoyed the cottage. We are however, sorry that you found the beds hard and it has been noted. It is very difficult to get the firmness correct and many of the previous feedbacks have mentioned how comfortable the beds are. We will continue keep this under review. Thank you. Property Owner

  • "Lots of cobwebs, not enough bin bags or loo roll provided."

    Six rather than 8 of things too in the kitchen. Beds comfortable and nice seating areas outside. A bit of traffic noise but nothing from the other units. Bread and milk left fir us with a few sachets of tea and coffee too

    Thank you for taking the time to leave this feedback, we do take this seriously and are always happy to assist if any issues arise whilst staying in the property. We do provide a starter pack of bin bags and toilet roll, as is usual in self-catering properties. We have spoken to our housekeeper who assures us that cobwebs were removed prior to your arrival, however they can crop up again quite quickly (this being a rural area). As The Kilns sleeps 8, we ensure that there are more than 8 items (where necessary) in the kitchen, perhaps you overlooked these. The property is just 7 miles from the harbour and beach at Charlestown and beautiful Carlyon Bay.

Due to the location it is a perfect spot for exploring the whole of Cornwall.

Bring along your family and friends, with much to see and do in the surrounding area and scenic beaches to explore close-by.

Park up in the ample off-road spaces, making unloading an easy task as you head inside your stylish holiday home.

Step into the entrance and locate the spacious kitchen/ diner, where the chef of the group can make use of the electric oven and hob to whip up tasty dishes.

Gather around the dining table to tuck-into a feast and why not uncork a bottle of fizz to celebrate your getaway?

Follow the steps leading down to the lower-ground floor to be charmed by the sitting room, with its Smart TV and electric fire, as well as patio doors letting in natural light.

The West Dry Accommodation

The West Dry Accommodation consists of six marvellous holiday homes resting on the outskirts of Roche, Cornwall. Formerly known as part of Great Wheal Prosper, a working clay dry, it has been converted into this fantastic collection of lettings you see today. As you can see, this group of properties enjoy a great deal of character, whilst also boasting TVs, access to a communal utility, ample off-road parking and their own private patios. Nearby, Roche Rock, an attraction that seems like an abandoned prop from the set of the court of King Arthur, rises dramatically from the china clay terrain to the north of St Austell. When you see the destroyed fifteenth-century church that sits on its flat summit, the mystery surrounding this tall, nearly cuboidal lump of granite is considerably heightened. When it comes to your amenities, there is a convenience store in Roche village, along with a newsagents, post office, pharmacy and hairdressers, takeaways, pasty shop, butchers and a grocery. If you're looking to treat your loved ones to a meal out, The Victoria Inn can be found just outside Roche and The Bugle Inn rests, as its name suggests, in nearby Bugle; both offer hearty meals and local ale.
