The property

Enveloped by scenes of the Cornish countryside is this unique Shepherd's hut, a rural escape resting in a remote corner of Tresillian, perfect for a couple who want a private week away.

Hares Hut stands alone in the middle of Tregerrick Farm, boasting idyllic views of luscious fields and meadows, which can be savoured with an evening glass of wine as you sit outside and watch the sunset with your other half.

A few steps leads you up to the front door and into the snug open-plan living space, complemented with a well-equipped kitchen to suit your culinary needs, and a fabulous pull out dining table where you can enjoy your home-cooking.

Settle in for an intimate film night, kicking back on the plush sofa as the TV entertains you, or choose to open up the patio doors to the incredible views and get lost in each other's company in this peaceful setting.

A double bed awaits you at the end of the day, an equally charming spot where you can wake up to the dreamy sounds of nature as you look out the bedroom window to this tranquil haven before heading into the wet room and waking up underneath the relaxing rainfall shower.

Fill your days exploring your surroundings, taking romantic strolls down the country lanes or delighting in private picnics with no one in sight for miles.

Find a local shop in the creekside village of Tresillian, stocking up on any essentials and tasty treats, while in nearby Probus hosts a country pub where you can sip on a refreshing pint and tuck into some pub grub of an evening, as well as a Chinese takeaway, Fish & Chip shop, butchers and grocery shops.

Discover some of Cornwall's historic attractions nearby at the imposing Caerhays Castle, the Lander Monument, and the battery at St Anthony's head, or head over to The Lost Gardens of Heligan, must-see Victorian gardens boasting nature-inspired sculptures throughout the terrain․ The Trewithen Gardens is also a great attraction with around 30 acres of beautiful woodland gardens and its own tea shed selling fresh local cornish produce.

Spend a day at the bustling city of Truro, where you will find a wealth of shops, pubs, restaurants, bars, takeaways, a cinema, theatre and dramatic cathedral.

Take a stroll down the scenic riverside walk at Tresillian, which takes you all the way to Malpas, which homes the very popular, Heron Inn.

Both the Hidden Hut at Porthcurnick beach, as featured on TV, and Eden Project are both within easy driving distance of the property, giving you even more to explore.

Tour other local attractions in the area such as the quaint fishing port of Mevagissey with its calming harbour and exciting aquarium, National Trust owned Trelissick Garden, classic days out at the seaside at Little Perhaver Beach, and challenging hikes along the delightful South West Coast Path.

About the location

Truro 3 miles; Tregony 4.3 miles; Portloe 8.3 miles, Perranport, 12 miles, Falmouth 14 miles

This small creekside village is nestled in mid Cornwall, three miles east of Truro. The meaning of the village translates to "a place of eels" in the Cornish language, according to a 19th century writer. However since then it has been translated to "farm/settlement of a man called Sulyen". Within the village is a small number of older buildings including a Grade II listed thatched Inn. Set in the Cornish countryside, Tresillian retains a largely rural character, with the advantage of not being too far away from Cornwall's capital. There is a mixture of pastoral and arable farming in the surrounding area and one of the prettiest riverside walks in Cornwall can be accessed from the western end of the village. Truro offers a good range of independent shops as well as art galleries, bars, restaurants, a cinema and a theatre. The architecture will intrigue those who visit along with plenty of things to do and see. Just meandering through the Georgian cobbled streets is a pleasure in itself. Day trips can be had to Falmouth, along the stunning Fal estuary, where its natural harbour and beaches will keep you occupied for hours. Across from Falmouth harbour is the beautiful town of St Mawes, surrounded by rocky coves and lush green countryside of the Roseland Peninsula. This Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty will inspire those looking for awe and wonder, with a vast region of fabulous walking, delightful creeks and tranquil beaches. A fabulous area you will want to return to!
