The property

A wildly romantic barn conversion in a scenic rural setting, perfect for couples and families seeking the slow-life.

Beautifully spacious and stylish, this is a desirable base for exploring the stunning north coast and atmospheric Bodmin Moor.

Set back from the road, it is completely detached and feels nicely private from the owners neighbouring home.

The contemporary interior is arranged on the ground floor and oozes country perfection.

Relax beside the blazing wood burner on winter evenings or throw open the bi fold doors in summer and enjoy the warm country breeze.

Cook up a delicious supper in the well equipped kitchen with fresh Cornish produce from the local farm shop.

Retire to serene bedrooms furnished with comfortable king size double beds and TV's.

The stylish sky-lit wet room and bathroom have Velux windows to watch clouds race and stars shine.

Your enclosed courtyard garden is a real sun-trap and well screened from view with exotic planters, garden furniture, barbecue and a fire pit to set the scene for relaxed outdoor living.

The area is a ramblers’ paradise with walks that commence from the door and there are 4 acres of private fields next to cottage to explore.

Take a picnic and enjoy a scenic ramble on nearby Bodmin Moor, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, or head for the South West Coast Path.

The vibrant seaside towns and villages at Port Isaac, Padstow, Boscastle, Fowey and Polperro and the long tracts of sandy beaches at Polzeath, Par Sands and Trebarwith Strand are all within easy reach.

For those looking for a round of golf, head to Lostwithiel Hotel & Country Club, just 400 yards away, which boasts a beautiful 18 hole golf course and a bar restaurant that welcomes non-residents.

A trip on a steam train at the Bodmin and Wenford Railway is a must - indulge in an 'on board' cream tea and watch the beautiful countryside roll by.

There is much to enjoy in this idyllic rural setting, however if all you are seeking is a well-earned restful break, April Cottage is sure to appeal.

About the location

BODMIN

Lostwithiel 6 miles; St. Austell 13 miles; Padstow 16 miles; Newquay 21 miles.

Bodmin, the one-time County Town of Cornwall with its narrow streets, shops and pubs, is perfectly placed for exploring all that this fabulous holiday area has to offer. The outstanding surf, rugged cliffs and hidden coves of the north coast beaches and the quieter sands and river estuaries of the south coast are both 15 miles away while on the edge of town is the fascinating museum and haunting presence of the old Bodmin Jail. The popular Camel Trail for cyclists and walkers also winds its way through the town on its journey to the sea at Padstow. Close by are the open spaces and wind swept grandeur of Bodmin Moor while the incomparable Eden Project (11 miles), Falmouth’s National Maritime Museum (30 miles) and the beautiful harbour town of Padstow with its famous pubs and restaurants (16 miles) make for great days out. Also within easy reach and ideal for a fun-filled day out, guests can visit Lanhydrock House, the small town of Fowey and Charlestown with its Tall Ships. There is a good choice of country pubs and restaurants in the surrounding area.
