  • "Lovely stay at Kitticarn, everything needed for a holiday home was provided for and more."

The tea, coffee etc., was very thoughtfully left for us and didn't last long. Stunning sea views and a very secluded, quiet place to stay but am ideal base for getting out and about. The owners greeted us, but didn't disturb us at all. A special mention about leaving my glasses behind, one telephone call and they were put in the post immediately and I received them the next day, how's that for prompt service Thank you. Would definitely stay again.

  • "We had a lovely stay and a great base to see the surrounding areas."

Our only issue was the bathroom stayed really damp as there is no window but it did not spoil our stay. A beautiful quiet spot, great views and a lovely comfy bed could not ask for more.

  • "Had a lovely stay at Kitticarn."

It’s location was great for the beach. The accommodation was clean and comfortable. However, we booked a pet friendly accommodation and , after our booking, this property was changed to a ‘no pet property’. Consequently, on arrival we were told, by the owners of the property, that pets weren’t allowed. This was soon cleared up but we felt a little uncomfortable having our dog with us there.

  • "This converted garage contained everything you could ask for."

The place was spotlessly clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The view was straight out to sea and the approach road, although narrow in places, caused no problems. A brilliant place to stay and we would return tomorrow.

Thank you for your positive feedback. We are glad you enjoyed your time at Best wishes. Property Owner

  • "Kitticarn was in a lovely location but furniture and TV could do with updating."

Would have liked an information pack about the area.

Thank you for your feedback. There will be a refreshment of the interiors at then end of this season. There should be a small local information pack there, the usual information pack was reduced due to Covid reasons. We can of course look into this again if more information required. Best wishes. • "The sea views from the garden and main room were superb, but the other rooms (bedrooms and bathrooms) were very small/cramped."

    Overall a really nice break.

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry that you feel the bedrooms and bathroom are very small. Our description of the property does state the bathroom is compact and the open plan area is cosy. Best wishes. Property Owner

  • "Kitticarn is a privilege to visit-spectacular location, stunning views & easy access to Gwynver beach (to be first there, last to leave) & the south west Cornwall corner."

Only negative is the main double bed mattress &/or bed needs replacing-it’s convex! And maybe a summer duvet of 3 tog maximum!

Thank you for your feedback. Please be advised that although the path is easy it is down steep steps to Gwynver beach. Thank you for pointing out the double bed issue, this has been attended to and the convex problem no longer exists. For reference there are both summer tog duvet and winter tog duvet available for you to change if needed whilst staying here. Best wishes. Property Owner

  • "It was a cosy, warm, comfortable holiday, in a lovely aspect but not for 4 people, even if 2 were children."

For 2 people it was fine, although the bathroom was only just adequate with the toilet behind the door and a rather unpleasant smell at times - we poured plenty of cleaner down the toilet, washbasin and shower out;let which helped.

However access to the local beach is a hard 250ft climb.

  • "Kitticarn is in an absolutely stunning location overlooking the nearby Gwenver Beach giving fantastic views from inside from every window in the morning and the evening when the sun is setting."

The cottage is well equipped with everything you could possibly need, its clean and cosy and well maintained. The garden is of a good size, eating area and a swing for the children and again the views are absolutely brilliant. Our children loved using the beach equipment that was available, mainly the bodyboards. We visited some fantastic places and most within good reach. Sennon Cove, Penzance, St Michael's Mount, St Ives where we took a cruise to Seal Island, Cape Cornwall, Porthleven, lizard point and Lands End (5mins drive) and the Minack Theatre which was a personal highlight of mine and most afternoons where spent on Gwenver Beach which is a 10 minute walk down a public footpath just down the road from Kitticarn. Most evenings where spent watching the sunset a long the front of Sennon cove in the Old Success Inn or wandering around Lands End. I can't say anything bad about Kitticarn, the owners are friendly and its a fantastic place to stay. Location brilliant, Sennon is picturesque and the dog friendly Gwenver Beach and the adjoining Sennon beach ( in low tide) is just wonderful. Kitticarn ticked every box for us and hopefully we will return one day. We loved it, the children loved it and i'm guessing the pup loved it....Thanks for a fantastic week !!

The property

Sennen Cove 2 miles Kitticarn is located on the cliff top above the secluded Gwenver Beach and adjoining Sennen Cove beach which are approximately 8 miles from Penzance.

This is the ideal location to completely get away from it all and experience the wild Cornish coastline and countryside at their finest. At dawn the most stunning, far reaching views stretch all the way to the Isles of Scilly on a clear day.

At dusk picturesque sun sets often paint the sky a myriad of colors and dance across the ocean.

The glorious milky way is not dampened by any light pollution and the occasional lights flickering in the distance from passing ships add yet further intrigue.

The moment you drive down the quiet lane leading to Kitticarn you will realise that your holiday has started.

Driving up the grassy shared access (with neighbour) to Kitticarn please park in front of Kitticarn.

Your eyes will be drawn to the amazing views before entering into the cosy open plan living area with kitchen, seating and dining area.

There are two bedrooms (a double and a bunk room - only suitable for children) and a compact shower room.

Directly outside is a tiered paved / graveled area with picnic bench.

This leads onto a large undulating natural grassed area which is perfect to relax on, gaze at the ocean and breathe in the fresh sea air.

Stepping onto the coastal path you can enjoy amazing cliff walks in both directions right from the door.

Head South towards Land's End which is just under 3 miles away, or North towards Cape Cornwall where seals are often seen basking on the rocks below.

Gwenver Beach is approximately a 20 minutes walk accessed from the top of the cliff down steep steps.

It is known for its surf and blue water and as one of the most secluded and quiet beaches in the area, and can be quite a sun trap on a warm day.

Adjoining is the easily accessible and popular beach of Sennen Cove offering one of the finest stretches of sand in Cornwall.

Ideal for families with younger children and those not wishing to attempt the steps of Gwenver Beach.

There are car parks directly behind the beach and at the top of the cliff.

Sennen is a fishing village and harbor that still retains much of the atmosphere of times gone by.

Shops, cafe and pub can be found here including the superb Ben Tunnicliffe Restaurant at Surf Beach Bar where fish caught in Sennen Cove appears on the menu.

Kitticarn provides a cosy base from which to enjoy the great outdoors and local attractions.
