    “Location was fantastic.”

Although with no view of water, the situation was very near and the walks were magical. Directions and sat take you down very narrow lanes. Going via St Keverne maybe a little longer but less daunting if travelling in the dark

Although with no view of water, the situation was very near and the walks were magical. Directions and sat take you down very narrow lanes. Going via St Keverne maybe a little longer but less daunting if travelling in the dark The barn was well equipped and cosy. There were a couple small repairs needed like fridge door and light plus ground floor storage heater which had broken controls. Otherwise all was very good.

The property

Set on the hillside in a secluded, tranquil spot, this rustic barn conversion shares a tidal quay on Gillan Creek with one other property.

Exposed beams, stripped wood floors and oodles of outside space to explore, means this rural getaway has charm in spades.

To make the most of its rural outlook, the accommodation is reverse-level.

On the ground floor there are two twin bedrooms and a bathroom, while upstairs you have the light, bright open-plan sitting room and dining area that has direct access to the outside space.

A further bedroom with en-suite shower room is also on the first floor.

The lawn at the rear of the property has a quiet and sunny aspect and would be perfect for alfresco dining and barbecues.

Nearby Manaccan is a favourite with walkers, and fans of Daphne du Maurier can discover the infamous creeks and waterways of the area.

Families, similarly can delight that there are any number of nearby attractions for all weathers, including Flambards theme park and Gweek Seal Sanctuary.

This rural gem will captivate those wanting a true escape from bustling life.

About the location

MANACCAN

Helston 10 miles ; Helford 1.5 miles ; Porthallow 3 miles

The village of Manaccan on the South Helford is small and friendly, with an excellent restaurant, friendly village inn and a beautiful 12th century church. The South Helford is arguably one of the most beautiful and unspoilt parts of Cornwall. With meandering country roads, picturesque creeks, tidal inlets and pretty waterside villages, the area can be summed up in three words: tranquil, charming and timeless. The perfect spot for enjoying outdoor living, the South Helford’s sheltered coves were made for messing around on the water and strolling leisurely along the banks. Leave your ‘phone behind and embrace the simple pleasures - while away time paddling in the shallows, explore hidden coves with a hire boat from St Anthony, and stroll through woodland to enjoy a picnic on the beach.
