“Very pleased with the service received from Donna and her colleagues who presented the house spotlessly clean and welcoming.”

The cream tea upon arrival was much appreciated. Tregithy is a traditional Cornish farmhouse, we were very comfortable and the kitchen was extremely well equipped.

The cream tea upon arrival was much appreciated. Tregithy is a traditional Cornish farmhouse, we were very comfortable and the kitchen was extremely well equipped. We were very disappointed to discover the price to re-book for the same time next year had increased by over £600 per week. On this basis we will regretfully look elsewhere.

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to leave us your feedback. We are very pleased that you enjoyed your stay at Tregithey Farmhouse. We agree it's a fantastic place to stay! We are sad to hear that you will not be returning to the property. Prices of course will vary from year to year, even more so if the weeks don't exactly match the same ones you took previously. In this case, although there has been an increase, the same weeks are actually a very similar price. We do hope that you will be able to return again one day. - Sykes owner relations

The property

Situated at the end of a long private lane, shared only with one other holiday property Tregithey Barn; Tregithey Farmhouse nestles in a secluded setting and nearby is picture perfect Carne Creek on the South Helford River.

An epitome of rural tranquility, an escape from the hustle and bustle of life.

This charming old farmhouse is a wonderful choice, where simple pleasures of walking along picturesque rivers banks, countryside picnics and times spent with friends and family are foremost on the agenda.

Step into a sunny conservatory a place to sit and unwind or kick off walking boots after a day's exploration.

The kitchen/diner is typical of a country farmhouse with a large central table for family gatherings and shared mealtimes.

Two separate sitting rooms are ideal for larger groups offering a quiet space for some who wish to enjoy a moment of peace to indulge in a good book.

There is a useful ground floor shower room and utility.

Five bedrooms and a family bathroom occupy the charismatic first floor, beams and sloping floors all part of the charm of this 200 year old farmhouse.

Outside there are gardens to the front and rear, and plenty of room for boats and equipment if you are bringing your own.

A private footpath leads down through Tregithey woods to the private tidal quay on Carne Creek.

Here you can moor your own boats and kayaks and enjoy trips up the river in complete seclusion.

Boats can also be hired at nearby St Anthony where from here you can explore the hidden creeks and inlet or stop off for a picnic at Gillan beach just over a mile away.

For coastal adventures and cliff walks, head across to the Lizard peninsula and search out the picture perfect Kynance Cove where scenes from the TV series Poldark were filmed.

About the location

Helston 10 miles ; Helford 1.5 miles ; Porthallow 3 miles

The village of Manaccan on the South Helford is small and friendly, with an excellent restaurant, friendly village inn and a beautiful 12th century church. The South Helford is arguably one of the most beautiful and unspoilt parts of Cornwall. With meandering country roads, picturesque creeks, tidal inlets and pretty waterside villages, the area can be summed up in three words: tranquil, charming and timeless. The perfect spot for enjoying outdoor living, the South Helford’s sheltered coves were made for messing around on the water and strolling leisurely along the banks. Leave your ‘phone behind and embrace the simple pleasures - while away time paddling in the shallows, explore hidden coves with a hire boat from St Anthony, and stroll through woodland to enjoy a picnic on the beach.
