"We had the best holiday!"
A lovely cottage in wonderful, peaceful surroundings, with plenty of space to relax. Beautifully clean. Owners very organised and helpful. All very much as in the advert. THANK YOU!
"Lovely cottage with everything we needed."
Owners very helpful and attentive. Would definitely stay there again, very close to Praa sands which is one of my favourite beaches.
"A really great place to stay."
The cottage has everything you could need and the views from the garden across the fields and hills are wonderful. Our host clearly cared that we had a good trip and kept in touch by text and was just round the corner if we needed anything. I couldn’t recommend more highly.
"We have been enjoying the lovely Easter Holidays at Scott's cottage."
The owner was very thoughtful and prepared some food for us to begin with. It was clean and cosy and the owner is always checking in case we need anything or if we have settled well. Overall we have spent a wonderful time at the cottage. I will recommend it to anyone who is fancying a quiet and cosy stay in Cornwall as well as a caring owner!
"We were blown away with Scott’s cottage!"
10/10 would highly recommend this you certainly won’t be disappointed. We had everything we needed and if there was anything we needed that wasn’t in the cottage it wasn’t a problem to the owners. They were absolutely amazing! Lush afternoon tea provided on our arrival too ❤️
"Absolutely lovely cottage, comfortable and cosy and sparkling clean with so much space and a wonderful view."
Comfy beds and luxurious towels and bedding. The Annexe is lovely too. It was a great base, we visited so many places and it was nice to come back to the cottage in the evening and relax in front of the wood burner. Wouldn’t hesitate to visit again, owners were so friendly and left a welcome pack on arrival which was really nice. Sorry we had to leave
"We had a fabulous time at Scott's cottage."
It was easy to find. Beautiful location. Cosy, modern and spacious property. Ample parking for our 2 cars. We were 2 families with 4 adults and 2 kids. Great hosts. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a base in West Cornwall. What a gem.
"Scott’s Cottage is the ideal place for a family holiday and to discover the picturesque Cornish coast."
The owners are very welcoming and helpful. They created a holiday home with extreme comfort and an eye to detail. The cottage is situated at a beautiful spot with fantastic views over vast countryside, close to the village of Breage with a fabulous pub offering delicious food. We had a great holiday and will definitely consider to stay again at Scott’s Cottage.
"Scott’s Cottage is the perfect getaway in Cornwall."
Close to all the most beautiful beaches and walks. The cottage itself is spotless and extremely comfortable with lots of space for the family. The freshly baked scones with cream and jam made by the wonderful owners, on arrival just made it even better. Thanks for a lovely stay we will certainly return.
"Beautiful light and airey barn conversion, with very nice hosts ."
"Scott's Cottage really is a little oasis of calm."
A lovely outlook from the garden area with numerous sun traps to enjoy throughout the day. The Cottage is well appointed and has a modern colour scheme throughout. The Annex is great if, like us, you have a 'G'ma' along for a holiday. It offers the privacy but is only a few steps from the cottage. The welcome pack of a Cream Tea was most welcome after a long drive and the owner was helpful with any queries we had during and prior to the stay. The position of the cottage makes for easy access to all the fantastic coastline with everything you need within a quick drive. The lane past the cottage leads to a heritage mining building on a well trodden footpath which is worth the stroll to see. Would always check availability here first if returning for another Cornwall break.
"We had a fabulous stay at Scott's Cottage."
The property is even lovelier than we expected. It is situated down a lane with just the owner nearby; so you can expect peace and quiet at all times. The annexe is perfect for an extended family; being entirely separate from the main cottage. All facilities are provided; no need to hunt for anything. The cottage is within an easy distance to local beaches. Mullion Cove, Penzance, Helston steam railway Flambards and the seal sanctuary are all well worth a visit. Claire left us a fantastic welcome pack; including a Cornish cream tea. My family will be booking again in the future.
"Host super helpful."
"Beautiful location, very peaceful with lovely views from the patio area."
Cottage is well laid out and was very clean, well maintained and very comfortably furnished. The owners made sure everything was ready for a late arrival, turning on lights etc. and checking everything was as expected the following day. Claire was very helpful in returning some forgotten items! Would definitely recommend.
"Scott’s cottage is beautiful."
.. light, cosy, excellent facilities. Very comfortable. The owner couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful. The location is excellent and views and walks in the area spectacular.
"We had a very enjoyable stay at Scott's Cottage, the cottage has been beautifully renovated."
Everywhere was spotlessly clean. Claire & Dan, the owners, had done everything to ensure you had a relaxing stay without any worries. Pre-visit email contact was excellent, being friendly and helpful. After a long drive the cream tea was very welcome and there was milk in the fridge too. The village shop in Breage was very friendly and stocked fresh bread, milk, eggs, newspapers etc. We had no problems with the country lane to the property. The location is peaceful and we were able to make the most of the beautiful surrounding area. We will certainly return again and would highly recommend a stay at Scott's Cottage.
"A lovely place for a holiday, within easy distance of Penzance, St Michael's Mount, St Ives etc."
Located a short drive off the A394 yet the cottage is tucked away in a quiet valley with a sunny garden to sit out. The cottage is very comfortable, well furbished and kitted out and the hosts were friendly and did everything possible to make our stay perfect. We booked again for next year.
"Quite tranquil beautiful surroundings."
Equipment and bedding to a high standard Fully equipped kitchen everything you need to cook Slight negative was that if have a big car you would struggle to get down the lane as it was too narrow equally a sports car would be too small to get down the lane Also could have done with a downstairs toilet but apart from all that we had a highly enjoyable stay and would highly recommend it
"The area the cottage was in was beautifully remote and quiet, which I wasn't expecting, but found to be exactly what we wanted."
Even though the house is surrounded by gravel, beyond that there is lots of green. The valley the cottage is situated in is delightful with ancient woodlands, and stream and abandoned mines. Great to explore.
"The cottage was perfect for us."
A family with grandparents. The annexe sleeping area was a real bonus. Everything was immaculate. Fluffy towels, spotless high quality bedding, comfy beds, spacious rooms. A very quiet location. Everything we needed was provided. Lovely scones on arrival. The owners were very helpful and made sure everything provided was safe during Covid times. I could not recommend it enough! Very near Praa sands a lovely beach. This was the second time our young family had visited. Very good indeed.
"Scott’s cottage is one of the best cottages we’ve stayed in, every little detail has been thought of by the owners, allowing a seamless stay."
The top of the line equipment, linens and super fast WiFi are just a few of the touches that make this place a great base to explore South Cornwall. We will definitely be back and were very sad to be leaving, if it wasn’t fully booked we would have stayed far longer!! Thank you Claire and Dan for a wonderful stay, my family loved it.
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Scott’s Cottage."
The cottage is beautifully designed and decorated and well equipped with good quality appliances, furnishings, bed linen towels etc. The owners were vey welcoming and laid on a delicious cream tea on our arrival. The cottage is set in beautiful countryside within easy reach of some excellent restaurants.
"The product and the location."
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay Scott's Cottage. Thanks a lot.
"Scott’s cottage is by far the best Holiday cottage me and my family has visited, from the moment we arrived until the day we left."
Nothing was too much trouble the attention to detail was excellent. We arrived to a traditional Cornish tea and even down to coffee pods for the Coffee machine. The Cottage was immaculate with every possible home comforts provided including Board games which went down a storm. I whole heartily recommenced Scott’s Cottage and Claire as a must place to stay if visiting Cornwall
"Great cottage in a lovely, quiet setting close to all west Cornwall has to offer."
Owners were very welcoming and attentive. Would definitely recommend.
"The cottage was very nice and in a beautiful part of cornwall."
It's location is very quiet and surrounded by natural beauty, fields, flowers and nearby bee hives. The 2 narrow lanes are very narrow, lovely but narrow, but this added to the exclusivity. The hedges either side need cutting back robustly. The cottage would most definitely benefit from a tumble dryer, this is bot a criticism but more a personal preference. The cottage is really very good and the garden full of lovely flowers, a BBQ, table and chairs and outdoor heater and pull out washing line. The annexe is very nice too. This is a great family cottage and very romantic too, beautiful views from ground level and from the balcony. Would I recommend this...yes highly. Would I return...yes I intend too. The owners are very kind, professional and very helpful and a delight to converse with.
"So Lovely we booked an extra 2 nights!"
Cottage very comfortable with everything required for a good stay provided. Claire was very helpful and the welcome pack much appreciated. Weather has been excellent and have been able to swim each day in the sea. Yesterday we tried the Jubilee Pool in Penzance - also good. Do try Amelies in Porthleven, very good restaurant.

This fabulous, detached, renovated 18th century cottage, with its own annexe, sits within a World Heritage site, renowned for its tin and copper mining legacy, with several iconic chimney stacks nearby.
Located in the little hamlet of Trew just outside of Breage, with views over what’s locally known as Gold Hill from Wheal Metal and the valley down to Porthleven, on a clear day you can see as far as Goonhilly Earth Station and the Lizard Peninsula.
Once a mine chaplain's dwelling but now a light-filled, spacious contemporary home, Scott's Cottage lies at the end of an unmade ancient lane that leads on to a multitude of quiet scenic walks through this UNESCO World Heritage site, placing Cornish mining heritage on a par with international treasures like Machu Picchu, the Taj Mahal and the Great Wall of China.
Perfect as a base for groups of friends and families wanting to explore stunning South West Cornwall.
This fabulously presented cottage offers bright, spacious accommodation, is surrounded by glorious countryside, enjoying a tranquil rural setting that’s rich in wildlife, with only the owners’ house as neighbours.
Just a short drive away is the charming, historic harbour village of Porthleven, renowned not only for its beauty but also for its culinary delights, pubs, famous restaurants and the increasingly popular annual food festival.
After a day spent uncovering the delights of the Cornish coast, prepare delicious meals in the well-equipped kitchen, before sitting down to eat together around the large, seats eight, dining table and put your feet up and relax by the warming wood-burning stove.
On warm summer days and evenings, open the atrium’s huge folding glass doors and venture out onto the south-facing gravelled garden, light the barbecue and gaze across wonderful countryside views while you enjoy a refreshing drink in the secluded garden.
There are many delightful and unique beaches hidden along this stretch of coast from Porthleven, including Poldhu Cove, the tropical Kynance Cove with its white sand and turquoise water, Polurrian, Mullion, Loe Bar, Rinsey Head, Praa Sands, St Michael’s Mount and Sennen Cove, with St Ives a short drive away featuring St Ives Tate, The Barbara Hepworth Museum, the golden sands of St Ives Bay and the fabulous Gwithian Towens.
The Isles of Scilly make a spectacular day out to see Tresco Abbey Gardens, which can be easily reached by air or sea, or simply enjoy the local area, come and meet the resident Shetland Ponies, Goats and Chickens at Hope Farm.
Upstairs, from the cottage landing there are three pretty bedrooms, including a king-size double room with a balcony and superb countryside views, a twin room, and a room with adult sized bunk beds.
The spacious fourth bedroom is located in the detached annexe, which houses a super king-size bed with zip and link feature (can be a twin on request), boasting an en-suite shower room, and facing onto the private garden, also ideal for those with limited mobility.
Whilst there is no telephone, WiFi with internet access is available so you can check your emails, post Facebook updates, search and browse to your heart's content, maybe planning where to eat or visit tomorrow.
Off-road parking is available for four cars.
About the location
Porthleven 2 miles ; Helston 3 miles ; Penzance 10 miles.
A peaceful, rural village located in between Helston and Penzance, Breage is home to the 12th century St Breaca church – and on Tregonning Hill, the highest point in the village, are the remains of an ancient settlement. During the 19th century, Breage was an important mining centre, producing considerable amounts of tin and copper. Today, the village has a small but welcoming community, a lovely pub, playing fields and a village hall. The much-loved harbour town of Porthleven is just a short drive away, with its various waterside inns and restaurants – and the glorious stretch of golden sand at Praa Sands beach is just 3 miles along the coast.
