  • "Absolutely loved the property it’s location was perfect in proximity to the beach and train station and located in a quiet cul de sac also it was a lot bigger in person compared to the photographs which was a good surprise not that it looked small to begin with."

    Well equipped and the garage was a real bonus for storing wetsuits etc. Really well presented throughout and the small lounge and tv packages were perfect for the kids at night. Would definitely book again at its present standard.

  • "We had an amazing time at Atlantic Surf!"

    The house was absolutely immaculate and smelt lovely as soon as we walked in. All the added extras for when we arrived was a lovely touch. Great location too. The only issues we had was, there was utensils for everything, but no cutlery! And we couldn't get the bath to work so had to use the shower head to fill it! This didn't impact our holiday but we would like the owners to know as I'm sure this will be rectified for future guests.

  • "Lovely peaceful and extremely well equipped property, our 2nd stay as so good."

    As a side note, there seemed to be historic water damage to ceiling in tv snug which we assume owner is already aware of. Would certainly stay there again.

    Lovely house everything you need and more very well maintained Spotlessly clean (although mats were still outside when we arrived) Outside table and chairs were still in the garage when we stayed but fortunately the weather wasn’t good enough for the need to be used Would highly recommend this place Views from the windows to beach is beautiful

  • "Spacious, very comfortable and well equipped property in a fabulous location."

    The home is exactly as described on the website but still doesn't give the place justice. The only slight downfall is the late check in as 4pm is quite late when you are travelling a long way and you have to find somewhere / something to do if you arrive early.

  • "What an amazing house."

    Every comfort. Only complaint would be not having PIN for the Sky. As we were all adults... The watershed didn't apply and everything was unwatchable until 9pm. But thoroughly enjoyed our week. Would highly recommend Atlantic Surf to anyone. Will be back.

  • "We were delighted with the property."

    It was so well furnished with everything you could possibly need for a self catering holiday. The quality of everything was outstanding. Beds and pillows really comfortable. Our children and grand daughter liked the little snug and playing games on the PS4. The house was really quiet and well situated for walking up to restaurants like La Casitas, The Gannet Inn, and a short drive or longer walk to Becks Fish and chip restaurant. We could easily walk down to the station to catch the train into St Ives and walk on further down to the glorious beach and restaurants belonging to Carbis Bay Hotel. Weather was mainly dry and we thoroughly enjoyed our family holiday. I would just make one recommendation which would be to put a wardrobe rather than a hanging rail in the single bedroom. I am sure we will return one day.

    Cannot believe the increase in price though for same week next year. Over double. That is taking advantage of the current situation which I think is terrible.

  • "Atlantic Surf in Carbis Bay was a great place to stay: proximity to the beach, off road parking, short walk to shop, garden to play in, tastefully furnished, spacious, well equipped."

    It ticked all of our boxes for what we look for in a holiday home, and given its location in the beautiful Carbis Bay, we decided after a few days that we would definitely come back, and went online to book Atlantic Surf again for next year. To our dismay and shock, though, we discovered that the price had gone up by 45% for the same 2 weeks next year. We felt we paid a premium rate this year and the house certainly was worth that. At over £5300 for the same two weeks (one night less actually...) next year, we sadly won't be returning. Such a shame. Will have to look elsewhere.

    The kitchen was equipped with everything you might need including lots of crockery and cutlery. This meant that the dishwasher could be used and we weren't regularly washing up due to lack of mugs etc. Plenty of parking space was an added bonus."

The property

Set on the seaward facing side of Carbis Bay, this three-bedroom, detached house, enjoys spacious living areas and wonderful outdoor space, including a garden, its only a short walk from St Ives scenic railway, the South West Coast Path, and the glorious Carbis Bay Beach.

Sleeping five, with coastal and St Ives Steeple Wood views from its bedrooms and offering an enclosed garden for the children to play, it’s the perfect base for a family holiday to St Ives.

A spacious hallway is the heart of the home linking all the ground floor living areas, which consist of a kitchen/diner and sitting area, the hallway houses a built-in closet with ample space to store coats and shoes, themed in natural colours with Scandinavian pale wood inspired furniture and carefully chosen print artwork, the sitting area offers a relaxing space, sink into one of the plush sofa’s, comfortably seating five, in front of the warming gas fire, or enjoying movies on the large 55” Samsung Smart TV with soundbar and Sky Q, including cinema and kids. A separate snug or media room to chill out is located off the sitting area, it has a sofa and a television with the same Sky package as the lounge, plus a PS4, a perfect space for the kids to escape to. The kitchen/ diner is conveniently located next to the sitting area, the dinning space, within the kitchen, is ideally positioned to take advantage of the garden views through the patio doors, which extend out to a large rear decked area for dining alfresco, inside a large wooden table with modern grey chairs, comfortably seating six, is ideal for entertaining or enjoying meals with all the family, two dual aspect windows looking out onto the front garden, flood the whole space in natural light, the contemporary kitchen, with white gloss lower cabinets, sparkly artic white countertops and matching low-level splash backs, is well appointed with everything you need for a week’s stay, a separate utility room, off the dining area, houses a washer/dryer, fridge freezer and a combination microwave, this room is also accessible through the garage. There is a choice of three comfortable bedrooms, these are all located on the first floor benefiting from either costal or garden views, the master king sized bedroom has a private en-suite with an enclosed shower, the second room is fitted with a beautifully dressed Super king-sized zip & link bed as standard, which can made up as two single beds on request, the third room is a single, all rooms are lit with natural light through windows and offer plenty of storage space.

The family bathroom is located next to the bedrooms, this is a great space to relax, with a deep bath and a shower-over, if you prefer a quick refreshing shower an additional bathroom with a corner enclosed shower is located on the ground floor. The tranquil and lush garden seamlessly wraps itself around three sides of the property, laid to lawn with Cornish palms, the rear garden is enclosed by fencing and a secure gate, ideal for the children to play, a large decked area, accessed through the double doors within the open plan kitchen/dining room, has garden furniture and a barbeque provided, so you can enjoy dining alfresco in the Cornish sun, a garage offers a fabulous space for hanging wet suits, surf boards and storing beach accessories.

The South West Coast Path nearby heads towards Hayle Estuary in one direction and St Ives in the other, if you enjoy walking this cliff path runs alongside Cornwall’s dramatic coastline, wonderful for spotting the wildlife even seals and dolphins at times. Carbis Bay Beach is just a short walk, its simply stunning with crystal clear, Blue Flag, awarded waters and golden sand, the secluded bay is lifeguarded at peak times, making it ideal for trying out the water sports on offer. St Ives is a pretty traditional Cornish fishing village, surrounded by sandy beaches and dotted with picturesque fishing cottages and a working harbour, this tourist hot spot has numerous restaurants, cafes and individual boutiques amongst its cobbled streets, it also famous for inspiring artist with may galleries showcasing their work, the largest is The Tate and Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden, and definitely worth visiting, after exploring, hop on the St Ives scenic railway for a relaxing return to Carbis Bay, the journey hugs the coastline and is truly breath-taking. A day out exploring the filming locations of the BBC TV series Poldark with its hidden coves and tin mines will provide a snap shot of the Duchy’s history and beauty, or maybe you prefer glorious gardens Cornwall has so many to enjoy including an enclosed rainforest at the Eden Project, near St Austell, some great shots for your selfies have to include the iconic sign post at Land’s End, on the stage of the Minack nearby, this open air theatre is cut out of a Cornish cliff edge, on the beach in front of St Michaels Mount, near Penzance, as the sun sets is just majestic, the little ones will enjoy feeding the animals at Paradise Park, in Hayle and older kids will love the thrills of the rides at Flambards Theme Park, near Helston. Just a short drive from iconic St Ives, the seaside village of Carbis Bay is best-known for its beautiful stretch of pure white sand. With turquoise waters and sheltered conditions, the beach feels almost subtropical and is the perfect spot for a good old-fashioned day by the sea. The beach is also home to the Ocean Sports Centre, so if sunbathing is not really your thing, why not hire a kayak or SUP and get out on the water instead. Or why not treat yourself to a Spa day at the delightful hotel which overlooks the beach and has a fabulous terrace where cocktails can be enjoyed in the Cornish sunshine? Carbis Bay has a small range of local shops and restaurants as well as a fish & chip takeaway and railway branch line. The train journey from Carbis Bay into St Ives is perhaps one of the most beautiful in the country; St Ives additionally makes for a great day out, with plenty of galleries to explore. The quayside town of Hayle also isn't far and is home to activities for the all the family, including a golf and a wildlife sanctuary. The Godrevy Nature Reserve and Penwith Heritage Coast are also within easy reach from Carbis Bay, providing outdoors and watersports plans with even more activities to partake in, including coasteering and birdwatching.
