• "Great apartment, comfy cosy and spacious!"

  View over car is bay is stunning! Shame about the state of the balcony, especially since it’s the lead view online! There’s green algae growing on walls, moss growing over the paving. Needs a good jet wash and a lick of paint! Other than this it is a beautiful apartment and I would reccommend and also stay again (provided balcony is sorted out!) thank you!

• "We had a lovely time, the weather was brilliant and the area is superb."

  The apartment was beautiful, but, as with previous feedbacks, the balcony let it down. Such a stunning view but the cleanliness and upkeep of the balcony detracted from the rest of the property. Needs a coat of paint or at least wash all the green and grime off the walls and floor. Fag butts not swept up either. FYI The double socket to the left of the sink doesn't work. All the others were fine. Could do with a small sieve or colander. The freezer door, as reported a few times before, is broken and awkward to use. Also perhaps state the parking height restriction on the main advert rather than advise two days before arrival. Luckily we could lower our suspension but if we had brought our other vehicle we would have been in trouble. We had an issue with the washing machine, couldn't find the main manual for it. It was blocked with a key and coin which had been there quite a while but luckily we managed to clear it and left a note for the cleaners that the wet towels were in the bath from mopping up the near flood. Having said all this, we had a fabulous time and would definitely stay there again and recommend to others. Thank you.

• "Lovely apartment with great views."

  Was however disappointed with the balcony area, it could do with a deep clean to get rid of the moss etc. The shower was a bit faulty (switch to turn on water flow worked when it wanted to !). Freezer compartment door kept falling off and no batteries in remote for bedroom tv (had to buy some ourselves). Overall a lovely place.

• "Beautiful, comfortable, spacious apartment."

  The view is outstanding, we spent many happy hours on the balcony relaxing and watching the seals in the bay. Plenty of information regarding the apartment. Would be more than happy to recommend and we would be more than happy to stay again ourselves.

• "Very rude cleaners when we arrived , they had been in there ages chatting , not actually sure what they was doing but the attitude towards us was awful ."

  We asked if we could go in early after speaking to the owner as it was our honeymoon, I also asked for something nice to greet us as newly weds .. nothing greeted us . The apartment was lovely , skirting boards and mirrors were dirty and the balcony had not been cleaned , we did it ourselves, . The welcome pack was nice and the views are absolutely amazing , apartment was massive and comfortable

When you contacted us we did say you could use the parking space before the 4pm check-in and that you were welcome to pop in on the off chance it might be ready. • "With its stunning view of the bay from the balcony, this tastefully furnished and well equipped apartment is delightful."

  The additional features of the washer/dryer, dishwasher and coffee machine bestow a touch of luxury accommodation. Undercover allocated and safe parking takes away the stress of using on street parking. Check in is quick and efficient with the lock box system and the welcome basket awaiting you on arrival is a lovely touch. The golden sands are only 10 minutes away although it is quite a steep hill and would be hard for the less mobile. To avoid the inevitable difficulties of parking and traffic queues in the area, the nearby train station is a huge bonus enabling easy access to St Ives and indeed most of Cornwall using the train network. There are a few small niggles, the balcony lets the apartment down with its grimy appearance, such a shame, the freezer compartment door in the fridge falls off as the hinges are broken and the shower is more a trickle than a flow. However, all aside, I would still return without hesitation.

• "Ocean View was all we expected and more, would stay there again if we visit Carbis Bay."

  Lovely furnished and decorated and exceptionally large for a one bed. Views were out of this world, could sit there all day watching the world go by! Car parking great and train to St Ives was excellent, as we had family staying there. Nice to see St Ives, but nice to get back to Carbis Bay. Easy access to beach, steep climb back, but worth it. Just a few minor things - need new toilet holder in bathroom, patio at front could do with a bit of tlc and rug in lounge could do with a clean. Incidental items but worth a mention. Apartment stocked with essentials to start your holiday - we took a top up with us - some of which was needed, but some not. Hope to come back.

  Overall the property was fine, however there was a very distinct smell in the bathroom that was probably drains, this was the reason for marking down on cleanliness and facilities and maintenance

• "Good apartment, nice view."

  Heating not working on arrival, had to call someone out and even they could not make it work properly they provided extra portable heaters. The TV only worked sometimes there is obviously an aerial connection problem. DVD player is never going to work as there are no input and output leads. The balcony was filthy a complete eyesore. The rear sun patio could not be used as the floor had been covered with artificial grass and was permanently wet. The kitchen lacked a few basic implements such as a draining board rack, kitchen tongs, collinder, lid for the casserole dish. None of the windows opened to vent so no ventilation while sleeping. No smoke alarm or fire extinguisher. We have stayed in several holiday lets with sykes and they have all been good except this one. Not value for money.

• "Lovely apartment with great views."

  We had everything we needed for a great stay. The only problem we had was getting the apartment warm. Although the radiators were piping hot the temperature only reached 16.5 degrees for the first few days. This was probably partially due to adjacent flats being empty, but we felt the panel radiators were inadequate for the size of the room. Despite this we had a lovely stay and would love to return.

• "Lovely apartment BUT there really should be a change of bedding available."

  PLUS towels. The balcony let's the apartment down big time. It would be lovely to be able to sit out in a sheltered area even when the rain is coming down with the wonderful view. A slim shoe box as you step in would be handy. Nice stay. But not exceptional and we stay in Carbis Bay every year.

• "Generally a great property."

  Let down by the condition of both balconies, outdoor furniture could be updated. Lovely layout inside and contemporary look. The view is outstanding. Maybe a good check in future before change over of the oven cleanliness inside, as the tray inside still had a lot of cooking oil in it. But overall great stay.

• "We had an excellent week at Harbour View."

  The apartment is more spacious than it appears in the listing photos and is well furnished. We were so lucky with the weather with glorious sunshine throughout the week. The view from the balcony is truly stunning, sunrise over the lighthouse and sunsets over St Ives Bay. The only improvements we would suggest would be better quality balcony chairs and sliding doors to the balcony.

• "The view from the balcony was stunning."

  We absolutely loved the location. Shame about the Faux grass on the sun terrace being waterlogged. The ice box in the fridge was iced up, but nothing to worry us when we were there. We had trouble trying to leave on time because we just didn't want to! Thank you for a very peaceful and enjoyable stay. Andrew and Launa.

• "Overall the apartment was as described, and the views over Carbis Bay were stunning; however, the balcony really let the property down; looks tired and was dirty."

  This didn't spoil our holiday, but attention to cleanliness would give it a 5* rating. Staying for a week, it would have been nice to have had a change of towels, as we have had in other Sykes properties. We would definitely book again and look forward to a return trip. Thank you

• "It would have been nice to have more than one Pyrex bowl."

  We couldn't do any proper cleaning before we left as there were no cleaning materials. Apart from that, it was fine.

• "Where do I start, on arrival dirty microwave, cob webs hanging in the bathroom, rubbish in bathroom cabinet, oven dirty, food debris in kitchen cupboard, windows that you cannot see out of, and balcony not welcoming , just not clean."

  The fridge door doesn't close properly, the grids on the extraction hood are missing, it is also coming away from the wall. There was no hot water, constantly having to use boost button. The laminate flooring moves, gaps in it everywhere. Dust in bedroom on the mirror and glass tops. On a plus could be a beautiful apartment, good position, comfortable bed, sofas comfy. We did contact carbis holidays about microwave and cob webs with photos, also spoke to skyes about the hot water, all the other issues should be picked up on inspection, I'm on holiday at the end of the day.

The hot water is on a timer between certain times and the boost button is then used for between these hours if you need a shower, we are sorry if this caused you any inconvenience. The laminate flooring has been highlighted to the owner to address when the season dips and there is more time other than on a change over to look at sorting this in a more permanent way. • "Where to start."

  The Apartment was spotless when we arrived and the welcome package much appreciated as we arrived late in the evening. The views of Carbis Bay and St. Ive’s were truly stunning and we felt comfortable and secure throughout the stay. We were there for our Honeymoon and it felt like we were in a different country. The only negative was the Hot Water and we couldn’t quite work out how to make it hotter. Something I’m sure was in with the instructions but we lived with it anyway. We will definitely book this property again and recommend anyone looking for a romantic, peaceful break do the same.

• "We have just had a fabulous week at Harbour View."

  The apartment was Spotlessly clean and had everything you could possibly need for your stay. The View from the balcony was stunning, and my husband loved the telescope for watching wildlife in the bay. The apartment was a 2 minute walk from Carbis bay train Station, which meant getting to and from St Ives was so easy and no need to use the car.

• "Inside the apartment was very comfortable and clean with all mod cons and a fantastic view of Carbis Bay and St Ives."

  Unfortunately the balcony and the patio let the property down. These areas need to be cleaned of algae and moss.

• "Lovely property and great views."

  Clean and spacious. The balcony area could do with freshening and cleaning, as it was slippery. The view is amazing, it is just the balcony looks tired and does not match the rest of the interior. The fridge is a little on the small size too.

• "The view from the balcony was outstanding & the appointment was easy accessible for the train."

  The only drawback was the shower needs to be unblocked due to the water taking time to go down. Apart from that our stay was a delight

• "A beautiful apartment with everything that you need."

  And wow - that view was wonderful to wake up to every morning. A couple of little tweaks are that it is probably time for a new mattress and the laminate flooring isn't very well laid down as it moves slightly. Oh and could we have an elevator up from the beach as the walk is so steep, lol!!

  There is something special about this part of Cornwall. We are in our 60s but feel full of energy when we are here. So peaceful calm and clean air. We still have so much to see and do so we will be back next year. Our accommodation is excellent and the views are incredible."

  The apartment is spacious with an excellent modern decor. It was immaculately presented for our arrival and everything functioned really well throughout our stay. The location worked perfectly for us - we could walk down to the beach in just a few minutes and access to the coast path in both directions was also easy and quick. And the view is to die for. The beach immediately below you and a perfect outlook right over and into St Ives harbour. We never tired of it. Covered parking was good too - no seagull poo to clean off the car! We loved this apartment and would readily return to it."
