Gwel Marten Apartments occupy a superb position on Headland Road at Carbis Bay. With dramatic views along Carbis Bay beach across to St Ives and Godrevy Lighthouse in the other direction.

The property

The aptly named Ocean Edge sits on a cliff at Gwel Marten apartments overlooking Carbis Bay.

Just a short walk from the award-winning blue flag beach and boasting amazing panoramic sea views across St Ives bay.

This exquisite ground floor luxury apartment sleeps four in two comfortable bedrooms, making it a first choice for a relaxing family holiday.

Floor to ceiling windows in the sitting area offer one of the most beautiful views of St Ives Bay.

Open the patio doors and let in the Cornish air.

Relax into the large corner sofa which comfortably seats six and is ideally positioned for watching dolphins playing in the surf with the binoculars provided.

Alternatively, if you can take your eyes off the view, enjoy the entertainment on the TV with Freeview and DVD.

The dining area forms part of the open plan living area and is ideally positioned opposite the kitchen.

A large oak table with six cream leather seats is provided, a large window looks to the side of the property, allowing additional light to flood in.

A large island unit takes centre stage, with three cream leather bar stools, of the open plan modern kitchen.

It’s well appointed, enjoys a sea view and has everything you need including a wine cooler.

Both bedrooms are separated from the rest of the living accommodation by double doors.

The master bedroom has a sumptuously made king size bed, the second room is a twin.

The views from the terrace are utterly stunning.

A table, four chairs and parasol are provided, a perfect setting for dining alfresco with the ocean as a backdrop.

The beautiful communal gardens of Gwel Marten can be accessed from the terrace and are available for all guests to use.

From here you can access the SW coastal path with a 20 mins walk to St Ives in one direction and the wonderful expanse of sand at Porthkidney and Hayle in the other.

Or save tired legs and jump on the nearby scenic railway to reach St Ives and its surrounding area.

The journey is truly breath-taking.

Just a short drive from iconic St Ives, the seaside town of Carbis Bay is best-known for its beautiful stretch of pure white sand. With turquoise waters and sheltered conditions, the beach feels almost subtropical and is the perfect spot for a good old-fashioned day by the sea. The beach is also home to the Ocean Sports Centre, so if sunbathing is not really your thing, why not hire a kayak or SUP and get out on the water instead. Or why not treat yourself to a Spa day at the boutique hotel which overlooks the beach and has a fabulous terrace where cocktails can be enjoyed in the Cornish sunshine? Carbis Bay has a small range of local shops and restaurants as well as a fish & chip takeaway and railway branchline. The train journey from Carbis Bay into St Ives is perhaps one of the most beautiful in the country.
