The property

Set in the heart of the twin village of Kingsand and Cawsand, on the coast of Cornwall, is this charming white stone property, Birdcage Cottage.

Inside, the owner has renovated the property into a contemporary base for families or friends, a great choice for those who fancy a rural location where you can enjoy some of Cornwall's and Devon's finest features.

The ground floor is home to a well-equipped kitchen which comes with quality fitted units and plenty of space for preparing your meals.

Walk through to the quaint dining room where you can gather as a family over a delicious home-cooked meal and enjoy watching your favourite shows on the wall-mounted TV as you eat.

Follow the steps up to the first floor where you will be greeted by a sitting room where you can cosy up with your loved ones and let the woodburning stove provide that extra bit of warmth.

Two double bedrooms are set across the first and second floors, both equipped with a chest of drawers and bedside tables and lamps for some late night reading.

Located in the twin village of Kingsand, this property is a stone's throw away from a choice of pubs and restaurants if you don't fancy cooking one evening.

You can hop on the ferry from the coast and travel into the city centre of Plymouth where you can look forward to visiting a wealth of attractions, including the National Marine Aquarium; see if you can spot all the underwater creatures.

Or chose to explore the 16th century Mount Edgcumbe House and Country gardens.

If you're looking for something a bit more daring, the local Adventure Segway is the perfect choice and something your friends and little ones will delight in.

Venture towards the Rame Head Heritage Coast very close to the coastal path for walking and cycling with some of the most spectacular views imaginable and stop off at the beach one sunny afternoon.

Birdcage Cottage is the ultimate choice for a break to the coast of Cornwall.

About the location

Plymouth 24 miles.

The twin villages of Kingsand and Cawsand, with narrow streets winding between pastel-coloured cottages, lie on the Rame Peninsula just 5 miles from Plymouth, but because the high ground of Mount Edgcumbe lies between, you are not aware of being near a large city. Instead, you can relax in the peace and quiet of village life, and look out over Plymouth Sound which offers calm waters ideal for watersports, fishing and bathing. Take a walk south along the coastal path to Penlee Point for the glorious views of Rame Head, towering above the sea, or, a walk north along the coast will take you to Mount Edgcumbe Park with fabulous views of Plymouth Sound. From Cawsand, take a ferry trip to Plymouth and visit the Aquarium, the historic Barbican or enjoy a spot of retail therapy. Just a mile west of Kingsand lies Whitsand Bay, with 4 miles of sandy beach and dramatic cliffs. You really are spoilt for choice in this ‘secret hideaway’.
