We were surprised that the parking permits did not apply to the nearest car park.

We were surprised that the parking permits did not apply to the nearest car park. Secondly, just a general comment about the location - there is now a new saying within our family: Cawsand - Kingsand - No Sand Beaches very disappointing for small children.

The property

Trevarna is an impressive, Grade II listed house over four levels in Cawsand, with stunning views out to sea over Plymouth Sound and Cawsand Bay from nearly all rooms.

It has been totally transformed from its 19th cent.

origins and is now the smartest of seaside homes, made thoroughly modern and comfortable by thoughtful owners as their own family holiday retreat.

It is ideal for families.

Step from the quaint little street to the ground floor where you will fine two of the six bedrooms – a king-size double with en suite bathroom and a twin plus shower-room.

At the back there is a utility room and doors to the courtyard.

Head up stairs to the first floor and the huge open plan living/dining room and kitchen area with a wood burning stove and an extendable dining table positioned to enjoy ever-changing views.

Walk through to the snug and step out through French windows to the garden.

Head up more stairs to the second floor and three bedrooms – a king-size double with en suite shower-room and two twin rooms plus family bathroom.

And finally, more stairs up to the fourth level to the big attic master super king-size zip-linked double bedroom with an en suite bathroom and king-of-the-castle views over the whole bay – binoculars provided.

At the back, an enclosed, walled garden on four levels - a paved courtyard with BBQ, wetsuit storage etc., hot/cold outdoor shower, with stone steps (gated at top) up to a large deck with sun loungers; more steps up to second decked area with garden furniture for 12, and then sloping paths up to the top level and a small, raised, lawned area with covered pergola.

Much thought has gone into making this a great place for gatherings and family holidays.

You won't want to go anywhere else, but if you do, why not catch the seasonal pedestrian ferry from the beach over to Plymouth’s historic city.
