  • "The bed mattress's are a little on the thin side."

I could feel the bed slats, however I am 18 stone and 6 ft 3. Nice cottage, nice location, would use again.

  • "We had a lovely holiday."

Vectis cottage exceeded our expectations. It was warm and very comfortable. The village is beautiful with plenty of facilities for food and drink and the views are amazing.

  • "Wi-fi password inaccurate; freezer badly needs defrosting; bulb gone bedside lamp in single room; no hooks on bedroom doors; no soap dish in shower; no instruction how to tune tv; no village recycling now; plates cutlery and tray were not clean."

However the house was newly decorated throughout

Very well located near beaches & beauty spots & shops, car park & pubs restaurants. The house itself very clean & lovely garden & cosy rooms.

  • "Whilst we found the cottage comfortable and clean and reasonably equipped,we were very surprised that there was no information available about recycling, refuse collection or amenities in the village."

We have rented cottages now for many years the vast majority of which have had a 'welcome' folder with useful information. The cottage was clean but could have done with some redecoration. However we had a good week.

The Owners can only apologize that the previous guests took home the Welcome Folder by mistake. It has now been replaced. We are delighted that otherwise you had a good week. Property Owner

absolutely lovely just booked in again.

  • "Quaint cottage, though deceptively roomy, with plenty of showers!"

Lovely pub, with good food a few doors down and a gorgeous village.

  • "Vectis Cottage has the best wood burner we’ve used - very efficient and easy to use."

Almost a shame the February weather was so good. Minor suggestion: perhaps net curtains or something similar for the living room and front bedroom. The living room in particular is very public with the curtains open.

The property

In Kingsand, an 18th century cottage on three levels, just around the corner from a pub, slipway to the beach and car park.

Ideal for couples or families.

Its attractive sitting room is filled with light from the front window and has a wood burning stove at the back of the cottage, the kitchen has a dining table and chairs and door to the garden.

From the hall, stairs lead up to two bedrooms – a double with en suite shower-room, and a single; and a family bathroom.

More stairs lead up to two further bedrooms under the eaves with sloping ceilings – a double with en-suite shower-room, and a room with a single and a cabin bed.

There is an enclosed pretty garden on two levels with 6 steps up to a paved terrace with garden furniture.

Just right for sunny al fresco dining.

A comfy cottage, full of character and right in the heart of the village with its pubs, cafés, shops and beach.

Why not visit nearby Mount Edgcumbe's 800 acres of fine walking grounds, or take the seasonal pedestrian ferry to Plymouth's city amenities, from the beach.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £200.
