  • "Nice very clean accommodation in a good position to see the sites and attractions of west Cornwall."

Fantastic welcoming basket of essentials and fruit. Would stay again. Only unfortunate aspect was the traffic due to A30 road construction and people using Chacewater as a cut through should be completed by end of 2023.

  • "Lovely property."

Amazing welcome basket. Milk, bread, tea, coffee and biscuits. Also a bowl of delicious fruit! The living room was comfortable with an amazing TV with all the channels! Bedrooms and beds comfortable. Small patio with lovely outlook into the field which was accessible to our two dogs. All fenced in so dogs had a certain amount of freedom. Area was perfect as pretty much central to both East and West coasts. Beautiful beaches, pubs etc in easy distance. Definitely recommend

  • "Cathy the owner was warm , welcoming and simply wonderful!"

We arrived to a welcome basket that was of an excellent standard and catered to both ourselves and our fur babies xxx The cottage was well equipped and spacious. The paddock (enclosed ) was a highlight and I genuinely feel should be more emphasised to potential visitors as this would suit dog owners and families with small children. The location was awesome

  • "The property had been very well cleaned and had good facilities."

The field at the back where a dog could be exercised was a great plus. The only thing that would stop us going back was the location. First, it was really difficult to find. We anticipated that number 6 would be adjacent to number 8 but it is on the opposite side of the road a distance away behind a narrow concealed entrance. We spent 30 minutes going up and down narrow lanes in our large vehicle before we found it. Quite why directions to the property are not given to customers in advance is bizzare given the easy part, finding the village, is.

  • "Overall, we had a wonderful stay at The Stables!"

Ample parking, conveniently located (short walk to fish & chips, a pub and the convenience store), gorgeous large enclosed space for the kids and dogs to run around in, and overall comfortable home. The welcome treats were delicious and all locally sourced.

  • "Warm welcome nicely situated in pleasant quiet village but good access to other areas."

Overall cottage good and nice meadow at back for dog to run in and chase rabbits!!. Only minor quibble is the shower not the easiest to operate in world and can not easily be switched to bath function. However overall would recommend it very much

About the location

CHACEWATER

  • Redruth 4.8 miles
  • Truro 5.2 miles
  • Portreath 6.8 miles
  • Falmouth 11 miles

The Cornish village of Chacewater is situated just five miles from Truro, between Truro and Redruth in Cornwall. The village lies in the centre of what once was a great mining district, producing more copper and tin than anywhere else in the world. The village and sandy beach of Portreath are a short drive away and from Chacewater, both the north and south coastlines of Cornwall can be explored, with their unspoilt beaches and rugged coastal walking trails stretching for miles, ideal for walkers, bathers and surfers. Truro is Cornwall’s only city and has a magnificent cathedral, the Royal Cornwall Museum and the theatre and concert venue, the Hall for Cornwall, as well as a number of shops, pubs and restaurants. In Falmouth you will find the third largest natural harbour in the world, where you can take boat trips up the Carrick Roads, safe beaches, the National Maritime Museum and Pendennis Castle, which was built by Henry VIII and is the town’s most popular attraction. Fans of classic cars will enjoy a visit to Perranwell Station where you can hire a Morgan car for the day. Nearby, in the Bissoe Valley, is Bissoe Bike Hire. Hire a bike for the day and enjoy the sights of the old mining works and beautiful wooded valleys as you cycle coast to coast from Portreath to Devoran, or just enjoy a snack in the café. Visit The Lost Gardens of Heligan, the National Trust owned Trelissick and Glendurgan Gardens, as well as the 26-acre sub-tropical garden of Trebah and the Eden Project, all of which can be reached easily in the car. A short trip on the King Harry Ferry will take you to the beautiful Roseland Peninsula, which is well worth a visit. Chacewater is the perfect Cornish holiday base, with something to please everyone within easy driving distance.
