  • "Super place to stay, very cosy, with everything a couple need."

It was lovely to sit in the front garden, either for breakfast, or in the afternoon, with a nice glass of wine and a good book, whilst you recharge your batteries for an evenings exploring. A short walk away from the property is Charlestown. A beautiful historic, former china clay harbour, with a fantastic array of places to eat, drink and be merry. Or simply have a coffee by the harbour side and just people watch! Just a 5 minute walk away is the lovely Carlon Bay beach. Again, lots of beachside eating and drinking opportunities, all on this beautiful beach. As you can probably tell, we had a great holiday. Robert and Elizabeth.

The property was clean, tidy and very peaceful, we had access to the front garden where we could enjoy a drink in the evening sunshine. It was also very cool which was a welcome bonus given the heatwave we were having.

Family was very nice, there if you need any help but also happy to leave you to get on in peace if you wanted. Property was Very Clean which was lovely. The front garden is an area set for you to sit and relax. Everything you need is provided for, When I booked the holiday I made the mistake of not realising there was no full size oven but that was MY mistake. There is a combination microwave oven and all instructions for all appliances are there if you want to work out how to use it. Not far from many places to drive and visit. Walking distance into Charlestown along the SW Coast took about 30 minutes, you have to be very able bodied to do this. Enjoyed a wander around the local par market which also has food and takeaways.

Nothing went wrong just very disappointed with holiday let for the price charged,no comfortable seating no cooker as such no kitchen utensils will not be booking again

Thank you for your thoughts, we are sorry that you were disappointed, we have had many positive comments as you can see from the past feedback. There is no cooker at the property as stated in the description, there is a combi microwave oven, and electric 2-ring hob available. Thank you for bringing our attention to the sofa which has since been repaired. The Little Beach house is very well equipped with all the usual utensils plus some extras. The price is also very reasonable. Property Owner

  • "Very good location but that’s about it."

The furnishings in the property are old and uncomfortable. The property needed a good deep clean, there was so much dust at the side and back of the bed frame that it was starting to mould. Luckily we had a beautiful week of weather so only needed to spend limited time inside the property.

Thank you for your feedback, we take all comments on board and will action the points raised accordingly. If you had contacted us during your stay we would of been happy to assist with any issues you had. We are glad to hear you enjoyed the location of the property. Property Owner

  • "The cottage was very clean and whilst listed as a small facility, which it truly is, there were a few things we felt we should raise."

The bed felt "tired" and was, in our opinion, uncomfortable. The bed creaked every time you moved within it, and the quilt was very heavy for a summer- a lighter weight one would have been better. Whilst the cottage is for two people, the kitchen equipment was lacking. With only one saucepan and one frying pan and very little surface space available; cooking meals was challenging. There should be more bowls and cutlery - you end up re washing the one pot or pan and you cannot put out a complete meal. The location was good - just a few minutes walk to shops, the beach and Charlestown. We adapted but felt there is room for some small improvements.

Thank you for your feedback and we are pleased to hear you enjoyed the location of the property. Had you mentioned, when we spoke to you during your stay, that you would have liked further cooking equipment we would have made this available for you. We do feel that bed comfort is personal preference and it is hard to please all guests in this regard. The property is cleaned by ourselves to a high Covid standard on every changeover so we were surprised to read your comments. Our feedback is normally positive and we have many repeat guests to our property. Property Owner

Place was clean and tidy. Jacuzzi was nice. Welcome scones were a bonus. We went all around Cornwall and neighboring areas but not much to do there so we did get a little bored. Owners live directly joining the building so not suitable for noisy people who may like a drink and play lively music As you can hear every movement. But overall a nice break in a nice little beach house.

Pub,restaurants, supermarket all within walking distance. The little beach house had everything you needed with an added extra of your own private sauna which we used every day. Within easy reach of all of the places we intended to visit. Really nice welcoming touches of biscuits and bottle red wine. This has to be the cleanest place we have stayed in for many years. Everything was spotless. Very comfortable. Everything we needed was in place. Cannot fault The Little Beach House at all. Unfortunately we did not get to meet Rebecca but she was very helpful when I spoke with her on the telephone. Chris was a great help especially at the end of our stay when there was a problem with the car. Thank you so much again. Cant wait to stay again in the future.

  • "This was an exceptional apartment in the most stunning gardens."

The standard and attention to every detail far exceeded our expectations and was so superior to other places we had stayed while travelling around Cornwall and other countries over the years. Such genuinely welcoming owners who went above and beyond to help with advice on all the fabulous beaches and coves to visit. We arrived tired from travelling and the little special touches such as a bit of milk, tea and coffee were very appreciated. We were amazed to have been left a bottle of wine and packet of gorgeous Cornish biscuits. A lovely welcoming gesture for weary travelling Kayakers. This was quite an unknown area of Cornwall to us. We have been stunned and amazed at this location with it's tremendous beaches, coves and historical harbours. Access to some excellent restaurants and cafes on our doorstep was a fantastic bonus. The quality of the accommodation and the beauty of the area has captured our interest beyond what we had expected. We didn't want to leave on the last day. Wow, what a location. We are planning to return within the year.

Rebecca and Chris very friendly and helpful. Accommodation small but well appointed. Small double bed was a slight issue for us as we are used to a super king. Could do with a little more cutlery in our opinion. Lovely area for exploring. It was a shame that the imminent arrival of storm Callum decided us to make a run for home two days early but we had had four beautiful weather days to start our week so we’re quite happy.

About the location

ST. AUSTELL

Charlestown 2 miles; Carlyon Bay 3 miles; Mevagissey 6 miles; Fowey 8 miles.

The old market town of St Austell, just a mile or two from the south coast, is famous as the historic centre of the china clay mining industry. Today, its many beaches and its sub-tropical gardens provide plenty to see and do. The wonderful Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project are perfect for a family day out, and a little further afield Caerhays Castle provides a stunning backdrop to Porthluny Cove. On the edge of town, St Austell Brewery offers tours of the Victorian brewing equipment and a chance to sample the local beer, and for those looking for surf and sand, St Austell Bay has several beaches to choose from - Porthpean, Carlyon Bay, Pentewan, Polkerris - the last offering a variety of water-sports. As well as a small shingle beach, Charlestown, a pretty, historic port, often has wooden sailing ships in the harbour, and is popular as a film location. A little further afield are Fowey and its beautiful estuary to the east and the fishing port of Mevagissey to the west. With lots to do and something to keep the whole family entertained, St Austell is a great year-round destination.
