  • "Absolutely delighted with "Little Pippin" it was one of the best properties we have ever stayed in, immaculately presented and fully equipped with everything you could possibly need for a week self-catering."

The quiet location was superb with easy access to coast path and beaches for great walks and a short drive away from many attractions. Due to an injury and inclement weather we were unable to do the area justice, so will definitely be returning! Many thanks for the opportunity to stay in this lovely property.

Ideal base for exploring this area of Cornwall as it’s only a short drive to Mevagissey, Fowey, the Eden Project plus beautiful beaches like Carlyon Bay and much more. Kind and friendly hosts who were available if you needed information or help with anything. It has everything you need for a great holiday. • "Lovely little quiet property that’s ideal for two people."

Comfy sofa, well-equipped kitchen, and comfortable bed. The house is in a convenient location for Carlyon Bay, Charlestown, and St Austell, and a short drive to Truro. Purely suggestions, but an extra hand/hair towel or two in the main bathroom would be good and maybe a label for the semi-hidden cutlery drawer. We spent a hilarious 5 minutes not being able to find it! Would definitely stay again.

Thank you for your feedback. We hope you stay again. Property Owner

  • "Little Pippin was perfect in almost all respects."

Despite proximity to the railway line it was peaceful and quiet. The bed was a little on the small side (for my wife and i) but adequately comfortable. A few tea bags, some instant coffee and a drop of milk would have been appreciated after our horrendous rainy journey down. A very comfortable stay, very much recommended!

Thank you for your feedback. We plan to put a king size bed in after this season. Property Owner

The house itself was extremely clean and modern. Its location was perfect for our daily adventures, we could easily and quickly visit hop in the car and travel to any of the nearby towns. The only thing we thought could be improved was the WiFi signal. It was usually strong downstairs but we found it inconsistent upstairs. Other than this minor inconvenience we enjoyed our stay and would definitely return in the future / recommend Little Pippin to our friends.

  • "Little Pippin was simply perfect."

Immaculate inside and out, spotlessly clean, and with a luxurious design, I can honestly say I have never holidayed anywhere as wonderful as this. I've stayed in many self catering holiday apartments/chalets/lodges, but Little Pippin is head and shoulders above any of them. Things I loved : ALL of it !!! But specifically, the warm and genuine welcome from the owners and Reggie the dog; the glorious peaceful and light filled bedroom with its delicious linens and decadent bathroom; the well equipped and practical open plan kitchen and lounge; the access to the garden for a peaceful sunny read with a cuppa or a glass of vino - and the designated parking space right outside the front door. I'll say it again - perfect ! Ideally located for some lovely walks to Charlestown - which is stunning - and Carylon Bay and on to Par, both of which have glorious beaches just perfect for beach combing. The Eden Project is just up the road, and whilst pricey, is worth a visit just to marvel over the sheer audacity of what has been achieved. The Lost Gardens of Heligan is 20 minutes away by car and is a definite must see - a great way to spend a day. And Lanhydrock National Trust is also beautiful. And the return to Little Pippin after a day out was the icing on the cake ! Thankyou for a wonderful stay - I will be back !

About the location

ST. AUSTELL

Charlestown 2 miles; Carlyon Bay 3 miles; Mevagissey 6 miles; Fowey 8 miles.

The old market town of St Austell, just a mile or two from the south coast, is famous as the historic centre of the china clay mining industry. Today, its many beaches and its sub-tropical gardens provide plenty to see and do. The wonderful Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project are perfect for a family day out, and a little further afield Caerhays Castle provides a stunning backdrop to Porthluny Cove. On the edge of town, St Austell Brewery offers tours of the Victorian brewing equipment and a chance to sample the local beer, and for those looking for surf and sand, St Austell Bay has several beaches to choose from - Porthpean, Carlyon Bay, Pentewan, Polkerris - the last offering a variety of water-sports. As well as a small shingle beach, Charlestown, a pretty, historic port, often has wooden sailing ships in the harbour, and is popular as a film location. A little further afield are Fowey and its beautiful estuary to the east and the fishing port of Mevagissey to the west. With lots to do and something to keep the whole family entertained, St Austell is a great year-round destination.
