  • "Lower Chasty is a lovely cottage in a very quiet location."

It is lovely to be woken each morning by nothing except birdsong. Wildlife spotting was amazing we saw so many different bird species. Lower Chasty is also in a great location to explore N Cornwall and N Devon. The only minor thing is we would have liked a thicker mattress on the double bed. The cottage is warm and very comfortable in every other way. The owners are on site too which is lovely. The scones, jam and cream are very welcome at the end of the journey too.

  • "We had a great stay at Lower Chasty barn."

Good facilities, very helpful but unobtrusive hosts and use of the fields to walk our dog. Easy to get to Bude, Tintagel, Clovelly and some wonderful bays along the coast. We found some very good places to eat that were dog friendly. A lovely barn conversation in a peaceful location. Thank you!

  • "A lovely barn conversion in a good location."

Surrounded by fields but yet close to amenities. The lovely owners live in the farmhouse next door and are there if needed but never intrusive. This next comment is not a criticism and only from my personal perspective. As someone who has food intolerances, I like to prepare and cook our own meals and the range of sauce pans were quite limited.

The barn had fabulous views with a really good upper balcony. The walks in the fields in front of the barn were lovely.

  • "The cottage is lovely."

Nice welcome from Sarah and Martin. Very warm and cosy which is good as the weather extremely poor and we needed to dry waterproofs every day. The only improvement we would like would be a thicker mattress on the double bed as there are wooden slats underneath which we rather uncomfortable

We are sorry that the bed was not to your liking. The only comments we have received previously about our beds is that they are comfortable and firm and the guests sleep soundly on them. I will investigate the purchase of a mattress topper so that guests can have the option of the softer surface. Property Owner

Made to feel very welcome and found ourselves in a great location for exploring everything Devon and Cornwall has to offer. Beaches were close by, and if you’re happy to venture further afield Dartmoor has many treasures.

  • "Martin and Sarah were wonderful hosts."

Their welcome was lovely and the home made scones just perfect. We felt very reassured knowing they were on hand if we needed anything. The barn was lovely and clean and comfortable with good sized rooms and 2 bathrooms which was a real bonus. The kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed cooking then relaxing in the lounge with the wonderful views from the balcony. Our girls loved playing in the garden on the swings and seesaw and Sarah kindly let them feed the chickens which they really enjoyed. The barn is well located for exploring Devon and even during a wet August week had a really good time away. Thank you!

  • "My husband and I have just enjoyed a very relaxing long weekend at Lower Chasty."

It brought back the most wonderful memories of my childhood as this was the farm that I was brought up on from the age of 4 to 18. Sarah and Martin were the perfect hosts and we discussed a lot of how the farm was run 50 years ago and how they have continued the work since they have lived there over the few years. The farm is situated in an interesting setting, within driveable distance from the beaches and Dartmoor, Bodmin Moor and Exmoor. There are many interesting places of interest all around and lots of places to walk. The 'hayloft' where we had our 'dens' is now holiday accommodation and has been created with much thought and sympathy to the highest standard. It is warm, very clean and well laid out. If anyone wishes for a perfect place to enjoy peace and quiet and exploration Lower Chasty is the where they should go. I know that I am biased but no one will be disappointed.
