  • "We enjoyed our stay ,it was basic but ok."

Lovely to see the harbour from the kitchen window . Would have been nice to have a shaver point and although we are not on holiday to watch television the signal was so poor, I am sure a better aerial would resolve this issue.

  • "Skyes as a company met my expectations."

The property was impractical to stay in for a week - no proper table, no trays, two tiny towels, a broken shower knob that made showering difficult. I recommend that the owner stay in it for a week to gain some understanding. The photos flatter to deceive. The bed and upstairs chairs were reasonably comfortable but every piece of kit feels like the cheapest option. I had never used a potato peeler that didn't peel before. No loo roll or milk or any small welcoming gesture on arrival . We rent a lot and this made us feel like income generators rather than guests. Plus, we were told that the work next door would be painting only. It was not. I hope it's not the same property owner.

Thank you for your feedback. The property owner advises that the cottage has a full range of utensils, pots, pans and china. The peeler you found at the cottage is an apple corer. There is soap and a towel available at every sink.Toilet rolls are stored on a vertical pole next to the toilet. We are very sorry that the shower was difficult to use and this has now been rectified. It is regrettable that we were not made aware of the issues during your stay as we, or the property owner would have been happy to assist you with any issues found. A welcome pack is not provided at the cottage and the owner does provide items such as plastic cartons in the fridge due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The bathroom was fully refurbished in April 2022, all works to the neighbouring property were completed in February 2022. Property Owner

  • "This is a pleasant and comfortable studio apartment in the centre of Penzance."

It could not be better located for shops, pubs and restaurants, and has a lovely view over the harbour. The bedroom/living area is accessed up a spiral staircase, and is comfortable and bright, with windows overlooking Chapel Street below, and across the rooftops to Mounts Bay. The kitchen/dining area downstairs is basic, but perfectly adequate. When I arrived, there was an issue with what appeared to be paint residue on some of the surfaces. This was raised with the agents, and resolved within 24 hours. It transpired that the cleaner had started using a new liquid for some surfaces, which was dissolving the paintwork. I enjoyed my stay here, and would happily stay again.

  • "Although we had a lovely time at seaview the photographs implied there was an outdoor seating area by a pool which was not the case."

The bed had a very uncomfortable mattress which could be remedied by replacing .

Thank you for your feedback. We are delighted you enjoyed your holiday. Please note that the website description does refer to the famous Lido being on the promenade which is roughly a 3 minute walk away; the picture is provided to show what this looks like as part of the local scenery and attractions. The property was recently refurnished for the season and mattress comfort is subject to personal preference but we appreciate your comments. The housekeeper would have provided a mattress topper if requested. We are glad you enjoyed your stay otherwise and thanks again for your comments. Property Owner

About the location

PENZANCE

St Ives 8 miles. Helicopter to Isles of Scilly - 30 minutes

Penzance hosts Golowan, the Midsummer Carnival, and The Literary Festival. There are also The Exchange, Newlyn and Penlee Art Galleries. One of Cornwall’s most popular holiday areas is the spectacular sweep of Mount’s Bay, from the cliffside fishing village of Mousehole through Penzance and around to beautiful Marazion, the coastline hides a wealth of sandy beaches, rocky coves as well as winding village streets and other places to visit and explore. Connected by a causeway to the shore at Marazion is the National Trust’s stunningly beautiful St Michael’s Mount with its hilltop castle and Mediterranean gardens. Walk across at low water and take one of the ferry boats back when the tide is up. Penzance with its winding streets, shops, clubs, restaurants and harbour is a must as it is the jumping-off point for day trips to the Isles of Scilly as well as being the harbor. The South West Coast Path passing through Penzance winds its way along the clifftops towards Land’s End. On the way, stop off for a coffee and a rest at beautiful Lamorna Cove, explore the open air Minack Theatre and marvel at the cliffs as you approach Gwennap Head. A stunning walk for those seeking solitude, exercise and some of the UK’s best coastal scenery. Penzance is the perfect holiday base. Ideally placed for exploring this land of Celtic myth and legend and with enough to do and see in the immediate area to keep all the family occupied.
