.wow!! Beautiful cottage in a fabulous quiet location, enclosed gardens front and rear for the dog. Friendly locals. Very clean cottage with all the comforts of home including a woodburner in the lounge and a cream tea awaiting your arrival. What's not to love! Will definately recommend to our friends x

What great comments -thank you. Will pass on to Shez the Housekeeper? ( She likes the idea of Concierge but we ARE in Cornwall and not La Cornouaille!) Shame that you were not able to bring the little boat as you could have had some crisp but smooth trips in the winter sunshine to the Pandora Pub. Next time perhaps. Property Owner

The level of equipment is excellent and the furniture and furnishings were very comfortable. The only tiny quibble, from the younger member of our party, was the lack of a smart tv!

Thanks for lovely comments- decor down to go for it "caretaker??"Shez. see previous what to call her query, Smart tv -been considered but we try and use the KISS principle** Thus as each new visitor arrives the simpler the choice avoids frustration and or breakages as knobs and settings are turned the wrong way from toasters to microwaves let alone taps! Choice of On/off/middle is more fail safe! Thus a more exotic all different TV could be a problem- ( at moment at home we have lost one of the two TV controls-? in the old wrapping paper?- which means that we have to retune the remaining one- grrrr) however will ask the grand girls and take view. **Keep It Simple Stupid** HNY Property Owner

  • "What a lovely cottage in a beautiful location - right on the river Fal, with amazing views from the secure garden - safe for our little dog."

Warm and cosy cottage, with unlimited heating and fuel for the wood burner (which we didn’t need as the heating was very efficient.). Met the owner when we arrived - very friendly and chatty. And the cream tea in the fridge was delicious - and fresh roses also a lovely touch. Also, being December, the sitting room was decorated for Christmas, including crackers on the table - our grandson loved the little tree with its pretty lights. The best cottage we’ve ever stayed in - we will be going back.

Wow -what great comments. Will pass on to our hands on** caretaker** Shez who is responsible for many of the ideas, and then for keeping them up to scratch. We are both close by with various family offshoots living, schooling and working in the area. As well as the business side we take personal pleasure from such a response which reminds us how lucky we are to be here welcoming our lovely visitors. This time having a Cornish family name relating to the Dairy- so perhaps the milk maid is coming home! Her English Devonian husband is also most welcome so long as his passport complies -and don't mention the jam and cream scone debate! ** Ideas please to describe all that Shez does- Caretaker only part of it. Great little touches like milk, teabags, coffee & sugar being provided to at least get you through the first couple of days. There’s a Spar 5 mins drive to stock up if needed. Mainly pubs nearby to eat in, restaurants further afield. Takeaways not delivered to the cottage. My recommendation would be to take wetsuits, paddle boards & kayaks if you enjoy water sports and want to make the most of being positioned so near to the water. It does get quite busy just outside the front garden with families enjoying their water sports. Overall a lovely cottage with lots of space and well equipped. The owners have taken great care in providing lots of information on places to see and things to do which was really helpful.

Pleased that a good time was had by all- including seniors joining in with the quay jumping at high tide. Adjacent quay area is a locals secret who come and go with the water leaving it to the wading birds, bird watchers, and dogs and small boys testing the softer creek areas-when the garden tap can come in useful!! • "The owner was excellent with communication and flexibility changing dates & agreeing to add family members to the group at short notice."

The listing would benefit from explaining that there is little privacy in the front garden during high tide daylight hours as the quayside is a hive of activity. We decided not to bring our two dogs and we’re very glad as it was a dig busy area so there would’ve been a lot of extra barking. The upstairs bedroom was very comfortable and well appointed however the ground floor bedrooms have a musty, damp smell despite leaving windows open as requested. The mattresses are also rather tired, as also the fabric of the living room sofas and armchair. They seemed to take up a lot of space and one was very uncomfortable so I used the bedroom upstairs to sit in. This didn’t detract too much from our stay as the weather was so good whilst the views and waterside options are the location’s strongest point. It was a heatwave that week but the property would benefit from more than the one small cooling fan. For these reasons I feel that the property is a little over-priced and wouldn’t accommodate six adults comfortably. We were only three adults so it was adequate. The paintings were lovely and the views fabulous.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback: your comments have been noted. The owners are in touch with guests during their holiday and would have been happy to help with any issues. Regatta Cottage is set in a glorious location so locals do enjoy the surrounding area too: there are two other separate garden areas for guests to use if they require greater privacy. It is worth mentioning that this property has been successfully welcoming up to six guests on each booking for the past 20 years. We hope you'll join many others who are regular visitors to Regatta Cottage. Property Owner

Instead, whenever the tide was in, there were large numbers of people just outside the cottage launching boats, jumping into the river and generally making a lot of noise and disturbance. Most of the creek side walk is on narrow roads rather than a footpath. With the level of traffic and visitors parked all along it made for uncomfortable walking. I was also extremely surprised to be told I had to take any recycling away from the cottage! Other houses had bins that were collected and I don’t think it is reasonable to expect people on holiday to be driving around finding recycling points for the small amount of plastic and cardboard they will generate in a week.

The property

Regatta Cottage is situated in a tranquil position between Feock and Devoran, on the shores of Restronguet Creek at Point.

It is part of an historic Grade II listed building with wonderful views of the creek and woodland on the opposite shore.

The spacious living-dining room has a wood-burning stove and views of the creek and the kitchen has a door on the other side of the cottage leading to another part of the garden.

At ground level there are two twin bedrooms and a shower-room.

Head upstairs to a third bedroom – a double with TV and those lovely creek views, and a family bathroom.

The cottage has enclosed gardens front and back and waterside lawn for daydreaming, breakfast or launching your own small lift-able boats.

Boats can be hired locally.

Pub, 1 mile.

A wonderfully peaceful base for bird or creek-watching or messing about on the water.

Why not have a day at nearby National Trust's Trelissick Gardens or use the King Harry Ferry to the Roseland Peninsula.

Perhaps a creek-side walk or a day in Truro, Cornwall's only city.
