  • "Trezelah Garth was totally delightful and perfect for us as we needed a spacious place on one level with ensuite bathrooms and an enclosed garden (travelling with my 90 year old mother and a dog)."

Perfect and lovely quiet location to travel to the South West of Cornwall (Penzance, Marzion, Hayle, St Ives and Sean). It was undoubtedly the nicest, most comfortable, best arranged and equipped place we have stayed in on our many visits to Cornwall over 30 years. Thank you

You’re a stones throw away from Penzance and all the other beautiful Cornish seaside towns. The property itself had everything we needed and more to enjoy a week down south, the garden area was beautiful and all the extras provided like board games and outdoor furniture was definitely a plus!

We just loved staying at this beautiful, spacious open plan barn with all it’s lovely beams. Set in a quiet rural location yet ideally situated between St Ives and Penzance. It was tastefully decorated, very well equipped and spotlessly clean, the sheets smelt divine. Three en-suites was a real treat. We enjoyed playing boules in the garden and relaxing on the sun loungers. We would thoroughly recommend this property.

  • "The cottage was lovely."

Inside it is immaculate and decorated to a high standard. When we arrived there were fresh flowers, biscuits, apple juice, and prosecco left for us which was very unexpected but appreciated! The photos online don’t do the garden justice - the garden is a lot bigger than it looks and the fire pit area is lovely in the evenings. The owner took the time to contact me during our stay which was a lovely touch. We will definitely stay here again.

  • "Visiting with my elderly father, I looked for a property with individual en suite facilities, good access within the property to the garden with only a few small steps to encounter and comfort overall."

Because of transporting mobility aids, parking for 3 cars was great. This property's proximity to almost everywhere that could be visited in a week was a real plus!

Thank you for your feedback. We have tried hard to make the property more accessible for people with mobility issues, which is a challenge in a conversion. We are very pleased it worked for you and would always want to make any adjustments we could if requested. Property Owner

Thank you so much for your comments. Our housekeepers, and we, do put in a lot of effort when we can - and really enjoy doing so, and so very pleased that you also enjoyed it. Property Owner

.a home from home. I would love to return in warmer weather as the garden was a delight . Covid restrictions made our party decide to eat in and we found there was nothing lacking in the kitchen or dinning facilities. We found an excellent fish merchant in Newlyn and sampled the delights of the sea. Each day we had a trip to a new cove or beach so plenty to do within easy reach. In the evening we sat round the log burner and relaxed. The bedrooms were very comfortable and spotlessly clean as were the bathrooms. I would thoroughly recommend this property. I would have liked the underfloor heating a little warmer but I feel the cold badly. No one else in our party found it so though. Thank you for a lovely week away.

We were sorry to hear after your stay that you weren’t completely comfortable. We do invite all our guests to contact us at any stage of their stay about any issues they have at the property, including adjusting the heating, and we are sorry that you did not contact us when we could have helped. We were delighted that you were happy with the standard of cleaning and furnishing and enjoyed your stay in this beautiful area. Thank you for your comments. Property Owner

Even though the weather wasn't the best so we couldn't really enjoy the huge garden, it's much bigger than it looks in the pictures, our dogs loved mooching around it. The cottage is finished to a high standard and there were lots of nice touches that made it a real home from home. We also highly recommend a visit to Rock Pool Cafe at Mousehole. All the food and drinks were delicious but the crab sandwiches were particularly amazing!

The en-suites were splendid and the accommodation was well stocked with utensils etc. Even salt and pepper together with herbs and spices! We were a party of five adults. Two had to share the children's room which proved not quite up to the standard of the other bedrooms however. Apart from that, everything was excellent.

Tucked away in the countryside but only 10 minutes drive from the local supermarkets in Penzance and the fresh fish shops in Newlyn makes life easy for a self-catering holiday . We love to cook and it was a pleasure to find everything from the sharpest of knives to cocktail sticks and a Kenwood Handblender . I loved the spacious open plan design of the barn there's plenty of room for all ... for us it was creating in the kitchen, playing Scrabble and painting sessions at the table and just chilling on comfy sofas watching the glow of the woodburner ! The ensuite showers are just the very best, and particularly welcome after a returning from a wintry wet tramp along the coast path. One of our party has some mobility issues however Corinna was most helpful in explaining the layout in great detail to ensure there were no problems . So much more to explore ... we'll be back . Highly recommend and 5* from all of us !

The property

Nestled in a small hamlet in the hills 10 minutes from Penzance and 20 minutes away from St Ives, situated in the picturesque area of the Penwith Heritage Coast and AONB, is this stunning barn conversion.

Trezelah Garth has been completely renovated to provide friends and families alike with a wonderfully comfortable and attractive holiday home, while still retaining some of its period features, such as the exposed beams and thick stone walls.

With all rooms on the ground floor, you will have easy access to the three well-presented bedrooms, (there is a step up to one of the bedrooms) which offer a king-size bed, a twin / ziplink super kingsize bed, and one twin bedroom.

All bedrooms boast their own en-suite shower room, so no queuing and as much privacy as you want.

The owners have installed a wifi booster system to ensure internet is accessible in the bedrooms.

The property opens up to a delightful open-plan living space, with plenty of seating to relax and unwind, while catching up with your favourite shows or discussing the events of the day.

The dining area has seating for six and makes for a wonderful social space to enjoy your home-cooked meals, prepared in the modern and well-equipped kitchen.

Outside has a newly landscaped terraced rear garden partly enclosed by stone Cornish hedges with a terrace and lawn with plenty of furniture to sit out and enjoy the space, the weather, and refreshments.

Off-road parking is available for three cars.

One of the main attractions of Trezelah Garth is the close proximity to a range of bustling towns and villages that are full of character and charm, while also being tucked away in the lush Cornish countryside.

With the cultural amenities of Penzance nearby, and St Ives being only 7.5 miles away, don’t miss the chance to visit both towns and Tate St Ives.

There is easy access to north and south coastal walks, local footpaths through the rolling countryside, and there are also a range of seaside activities available nearby.

There is horse riding on offer nearby and down on the coast at Mount’s Bay.

There are excellent places to eat in the nearby villages and Tremenheere Kitchen at Tremenheere Sculpture Garden.

Only 2-3 miles away, Gulval also offers pretty Victorian granite houses and the Coldstreamer Inn.

In another direction lies the pretty village and church at Ludgvan and The White Hart pub.

To the North you can find Zennor and Gurnards Head both boasting excellent eateries to reward you during or after a busy day exploring.

In Penzance you can find the Penlee House Gallery and Museum, home to a number of paintings of the Newlyn School artists.

The Newlyn Galleries also host thriving arts activities.

The open air Lido has been renovated and is preparing to provide a heated pool.

And the RMV Scillonian is based at the harbour for trips to the Scilly Isles.

If history is your thing, then you can explore fascinating mining museums, and just up the road from the barn is Chysauster, the remains of an ancient village amazingly similar to the farmsteads that are dotted around the county today.

There are also numerous gardens such as the National Trust’s Trengwainton Garden nearby and other less well known places to discover yourself.

And then of course there is the traditional reason for visiting Cornwall – the beaches and coves.

You can treat your little and not so little ones to a day out at the beach and get surfing.

There are surf schools at many beaches but you can just do your own thing, and simply enjoy a swim and play a variety of beach games. Return to Trezelah Garth for a relaxing evening with your loved ones in front of the wood-burning stove or relaxing outside watching the sunset.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £200.
