  • "Thank you for your feedback, Hob - we have had issues previously, but mostly these were due to operator error and the one time the hob wasn't working, an engineer was sent to replace the faulty part."

The hob was working fine when we were there at Christmas and no issues were reported by previous guests. It is an induction hob (which was selected for safety reasons) and therefore, is more complex to use than a gas or electric one. We recommend that everyone reads the instruction manual provided in the Welcome Folder. We'll ask our cleaner to look at it to make sure there isn't a fault, before incurring the cost of calling out an engineer unnecessarily. Bed - was made up as a double as our cleaner had assumed that as the cottage was booked for 4 adults, that's what they'd want. She rectified it within hours of the issue being raised to me and me passing it on to her, despite us currently being out of the country. Pans - There is a large selection of pans, roasting trays, Pyrex dishes, etc. Again, they were fine when we were there at Christmas and neither previous guests nor our cleaner have not commented. Drains/Gate - We regularly have the drains cleared by our gardeners, however, due to the constant rain we've experienced recently, and the fact that it all runs down the track and into our property, they can get backed up. The gate opened and closed freely when we were there at Christmas, and neither our cleaner or gardener has commented on this to us. We like people to keep the gate closed, as we've had comments from previous guests about our neighbours dogs getting in. However, if they find the gates difficult to close, or the area is muddy, then obviously we would not expect them still try to close them and cause themselves an injury. The customer contacted us via email regarding the beds on the day they arrived and the issue was resolved within a matter of hours. Had they contacted us about any of the other issues during their stay, (rather than waiting until after they left and gave us bad feedback), then we could've tried to assist in resolving them.

Our cleaner has checked the hob and it’s working fine. Instructions for how to use it are in the Welcome Folder and the guests clearly located the back-up hob anyway, so were able to cook. The property had its pre-season clean prior to this arrival and was spotless, photos to evidence this were sent when the clean was completed. There are more than adequate pans, baking trays, roasting dishes, etc. The guests contacted us about the mix-up with the beds as soon as they arrived, so it’s disappointing that instead of contacting us regarding their other ‘issues’ during their stay, so that we could rectify them, they decided to just leave us a negative (and completely false) review after they left! They also failed to mention the 4 glasses they broke! It’s extremely frustrating when we try so hard to provide excellent facilities and make the cottage a home away from home, that some people seem it ok to leave such poor and completely false feedback! Went to use dyson. It was full up and tangled around brush head. So spent time declogging it. Not pleasant. A lovely barn conversion though. Very quiet mostly A constant problem with me personally is finding a place with high bed and at least one compfy chair. Not six inches off the ground like so many are. We noticed your sofa and I used my wheelchair indoors as too low so we managed. We appreciate not everyone is six foot and limited mobility. We would probably book again as useful location for us.

  • "We had a lovely stay at Nana's Cottage."

I am sure Nana would have been very proud of what the owners have achieved here. The "cottage" was lovingly restored and had lots of home comforts. Beds were super comfy. Wouldn't hesitate in recommending Nana's Cottage to anyone. So quiet and peaceful. We were a family of 3, son did not join us in the end. The breakfast bar was a little cramped even for 3 of us but that's just a minor thing. The fridge could have been better. It was continually working hard to keep cold especially when full, wondered why the fridge was so "wet" on our arrival. The bottom door shelf was broken which meant we couldn't stand milk bottles up. It meant emptying out the whole fridge each and every time you needed something out of there as the milk was taking up most of the room. These are just little "moans". We are very keen on recycling too and had recycled glass bottles, paper, cardboard and plastic bottles which we had stored in a bag. We actually took these to a recycling centre as it was apparent that recycling had actually been put in the dustbin prior to our arrival. Don't think the dustbin had been emptied either the previous week as it was actually full to capacity on our arrival. SPIDERS!! at this time of year, and as the property had been a barn, and they like to come inside, they were huge. Caught with a glass and paper and put outside but they kept coming in - daughter was not impressed LOL. All said and done we would love to return perhaps some day. Thank You for a lovely relaxing break

We sent engineer to inspect fridge and it was fine, it had just been pushed too far back so door wouldn’t close properly. I checked door shelf myself yesterday: it isn’t broken, so not sure what issue was there. Unfortunately, no room for larger breakfast bar! We’re also like to recycle & our waste is sorted at sorting centre. Bins emptied Thursdays. Not much we can do about spiders! Property Owner

  • "The cottage was lovely and a very high standard."

Beds were comfortable and cottage was spacious. We had an issue with the fridge during our stay. We contacted the owner who was very responsive and sorted the problem quickly. My only disappointment was that the owner knew there was an issue with the fridge prior to our stay but hadn’t attempted to resolve the problem. Other than this the stay was fantastic location idyllic and neighbours very helpful. Thanks

Although we knew fridge dripped, we’d assumed it was from the freezer box, not a problem with the fridge - people don’t close the freezer door properly, causing it to ice up and then drip into the fridge. As you say, we did everything we could to resolve ASAP, getting an engineer out the following day and the fridge was fine, it had just been pushed too far back so the door couldn’t close properly. • "Beautiful, peaceful setting and the location is central for all areas of West Cornwall."

It was lovely to come back and relax there at the end of the day and watch the blue tits who were nesting in the wall. The pub in Praze reopened the evening before we left and Philp’s bakery in the square do the best pasties and saffron cake. Nanna’s barn was really comfortable and well equipped and great to have two double beds and two bathrooms.

  • "The cottage is in a great location for accessing both north and south coast and is nicely furnished / decorated."

Our family also enjoyed playing with the WII and Google assistant which were nice touches we haven't seen before. This should be a really great holiday cottage but was let down by poor cleanliness. It had obviously been superficially cleaned but we had to clean/re-clear particularly in the bathrooms including removing months of hair from the ensuite shower plug to enable it to drain properly. I will also note that both adjacent properties have dogs which are free to roam and tried to enter the cottage numerous times. Unfortunately, despite the dogs being perfectly friendly, our children arn't keen on dogs which prevented them playing outside in the garden. There was also dog mess in the garden which wasn't pleasant. One to note for any families considering staying here. Overall, if the issue with cleaning is resolved and our children get over their fear of dogs I think we'd return.

We’re glad you loved the cottage and it’s location, and sincerely apologise for issues regarding the cleanliness and the dogs. We have raised your comments with our housekeeping team and have been assured that this won’t happen again. We have also spoken with our neighbours and asked them to prevent their dogs from accessing our property. When we’re able to visit again after the summer season, we will look into installing a fence along the boundary line with the attached property. We hope our comments reassure you that we take your feedback seriously and you would look to stay with us again in the future. Property Owner

  • "This is a really nice cottage but the check in time is disappointing."

We originally booked August 2021 when check in was 3pm. Several months later this was changed to 5pm to allow for extra cleaning, having two young children this was tough and we felt it was a day wasted. Not wishing to be picky although in the main the cottage was clean, the extra time could have been used to clean cobwebs and hairs from the shower. Overall this is a nice cottage in a quiet area with good facilities. Due to the later check in I would probably not be looking to stay again.

We’re sorry that the check-in time has had to be moved back to 5pm, but as you can imagine, there a huge number of holiday lets in Cornwall to clean and only so many cleaners to go round. Therefore, we have to allow time for the cleaners to get to Nana’s Cottage and have everything ready for you by the check-in time. There are lots of nearby places to visit, things to see and activities to do before arriving at the cottage, so as you don’t just spend the day travelling. We have passed your feedback onto our cleaning team. Property Owner

  • ""Wonderful cottage in a fantastic location" This is an excellent property in a great location, within easy reach of many amazing beaches in Cornwall."

The property is well furnished with all the comforts you might need - including a log burner, Netflix on all TVs, Spotify music and more. The internet is super fast (140mb), so the kids will naturally be happy. The cottage was very clean and has been renovated to a high standard. The owners have clearly given lots of thought to what holidaymakers might need. We will certainly return in the future and would recommend without hesitation.

  • "Enjoyed our stay at Nannas Cottage, very peaceful lovely setting!"

Very comfortable very well fitted, clean beautifully appointed. Would recommend to family and friends. Our only negative would be the Induction Hob/Oven as a more mature couple found it quite difficult to use, plus a mirror in the Master Bedroom would be a great help for when dressing, hair/makeup. No more negatives it was great!!

Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate that the hob/oven can be a little complicated to use, which is why we have provided the instructions in the Welcome Folder. We also selected an induction hob for safety reasons, to prevent any accidents. We have taken your feedback onboard about the mirror and have installed one in each of the bedrooms. Property Owner
